“Kids loved it”

We arrived at 10 pm and managed to get a nice pool view room at no extra charge (more probable if you check in late we heard and it seem to be true). The room was small for the price and dated as others mentioned, but we didn't care since most of our time will be spent outside. We just wanted a pool view for the daily fireworks (Epcot @ 9pm and another @ 10pm). I do want to warn parents of small children, the railing on the balcony is very spaced out so watch your little ones. My oldest is 7 and his head and body can fit right thru them so I kept the balcony door locked at all times since I also had my 2 and 5 year olds with us. It was still scary knowing my 5 and 7 are capable of turning the lock and opening the balcony door themselves. Another thing was the entrance door. It's not seal to the carpet. I would say it's about 1-1.5 inch off the ground so you can hear hallway noises easily. Our floor was quiet, but I felt bad every time my kids left the room. Housekeeping was great and done everyday for the 5 days we were there. The landscaping was beautiful. As mentioned by others, there were plenty to do that was included in the fee: canoeing, sailing, paddle boating, kayaking, biking (free - even had 6 and 4 passenger bike cart, along with bike with toddler seat behind, and helmets for all). The pitch-putt was fun and entertaining for my boys. There are 2 swimming pools and 2 slides. The smaller slide is in the heated smaller (kids) pool. Side note: it said heated to 81 but it felt more like 71. The big pool is BIG and has a BIG slide, but you have to be of a certain height (i like to say 48-54 inches). We were hardly on the big pool cause it was cold. The sign said 71 but it felt more like Lake Michigan, low 60's. The shallowest part of both pools is 3'6, with 10 being the deepest. There are 4 hot tubs, but only 3 working ones when we were there. There's also a beach area with nice sands and provided sand toys for the kids to play, and hammock & shade for me to lay in. We didn't use the arcade, but there's one. The playground is no longer there. :-( The gym was great and I tried the equpments out one late evening (awesome), but never made time to work out. The gym and pool/hot tubs are open 24/7. Security walks thru the area often so you're more than safe. The bike, boating, putt closed at 6. We always went out to eat so I can't comment on the resturants on site. The hotel is a 10 minutes walk (kids' pace) to the main road where all the restaurants are. BTW, there is free parking and I recommend you use it if you want to save $$$. It seems far, but it's not at all since it's located by the pool. We self parked the whole time and enjoyed the nice 5 min stroll thru the pool grounds to the elevator. Parking was not busy when we were there (April 18-23) and the elevators were quick. We never waited more than a minute. They have a bus shuttle that takes you to the theme parks. It leaves at 9 and 11 and picks you up at 7. I think I covered everything. Overall, we had a great time here. My boys loved it and want to return so if we can afford it we'll definitely go back.

I have spent 100+ nights in this hotel over the years and they do a good job at keeping it consistent. It is starting to show some wear & tear and if you have a phobia around little kids DON’T STAY HERE! I ate in both Hemmingway’s & the steak restaurant and I was a little disappointed in the service for the prices they charge. They are expensive. A small pet peeve is that they never recognize me as a returning guest. At Ritz Carlton’s & Four Seasons, they always welcome me back. Perhaps I have to get to 200 nights before they recognize me? Overall, a really nice hotel. And the golf course / facilities is too die for!

What a great place!
We were on the 16th floor, great view from the large room. The staff were great, as was the gym and pool - they have 3 running routes, which I used, and a lovely nature walk (bring bug spray!)
We ate in their sushi resturant, which was very good indeed.
The atruim of the hotel is beautiful, with some parrots flying free in there. All in all, amazing. I would come back in a heart beat.

Despite living less than 30 miles from the Grand Cypress we have stayed there for quite ‘get-away’ weekends several times. Essentially a family resort it also offers pleasant walks, an Equestrian Center, several themed cocktail bars, coffee shop and two restaurants. There is also a ‘Chef’s Table’ where you eat in the kitchen while Chefs demonstrate the preparation and cooking of each dish. Recently we returned for a romantic package weekend, champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries and orchids – impressed my wife and got the weekend off to a nice start. As a long-time Hyatt Gold member, and now a ‘senior’ Hyatt offer amazing discounts on the rack-rates and even, on web prices.
Like many of the other reviewers, our experience of excellent staff attitudes started at check-in, greeted with a glass of wine and a smile we were soon ushered up to our pleasant, clean room – with a charming view. Enormous soft mattresses and snowy linen and duvet make the Hyatt beds some of the best in the business. Staff attitudes were tested with a few little problems and only one member failed the test. Asking for afternoon tea in the Cascades Restaurant we were referred to the coffee shop. We explained we meant hot tea, not iced, with sandwiches and pastries, not plastic cups (the coffee shop is poolside). She just shrugged and I asked for the manager. He quickly seated us by the charming fountain and we enjoyed our afternoon tea and a long chat with him.
Hemmingway’s overlooks the spectacular pool cliffs and caves and is a very good restaurant, well worth visiting even if you are not staying at the hotel. We wandered in to make a reservation before it was actually open, but the staff unlocked the doors and gave us a quick tour. We met the duty Chef and mentioned our young son who was coming up for dinner with his wife was a vegetarian – was there anything he could recommend? He said he would prepare a special vegetarian meal of two courses from some very fresh vegetables that had just been delivered.

While we enjoyed our duck appetizer and Lobster Crusted Sea bass we did cast envious eyes at his beautifully prepared veggies!

Stayed one night at this place. The staff was very friendly, but everything costs too much. Internet hook up was $11.99. Bottled water was $4.95. Valet parking was $19 (which the valet doesn't tell you; you have to look for the little sign in the corner). No complementary breakfast. All this for $240 a night.

For comparison, I stayed at a nearby Holiday Inn Express the day before for $100 a night. Free parking, free wireless Internet, and free breakfast. The room was almost as nice, the staff just as friendly, and the bathroom towels were better.

If you must have luxury and have the cash, you'll like it. But for the everyday traveller,
there are better values out there.

Great resort hotel. Helpful and friendly staff. Food great in Hemingway's bar. Not so great at the White Horse. Try and get a deal that includes the buffet breakfast. You'll have to drive/cab anywhere from here if you want to eat out, the driveway from the road is probably further than most would want to walk. Downtown Disney is very near for meals/evenings out with the family. Plenty of activities in the hotel grounds including two pools. Free shuttle bus to Disney, but times not very frequent.

Perfect stay at the Grand Cypress! You will be greeted at the gated entrance by a smile. You will then drive up to the hotel entrance and asked your name. As you walk into the hotel they will greet you by name. The lobby is grand. Ask for a room facing Epcot, as you will be able to view Epcot and Disney's nightly fireworks. The ammenities are to die for! There is a waterfall pool and so many comfy chairs to choose from. The pool towels are very thick and are given to you at the pool. They have free kayaks, pedal boats, sail boats and canoes. You can take these onto the beautiful lake. Near the lake is a beach with chairs and hammocks.
The rooms are spotless! I am VERY picky too! If you are a family, you may want to book either two double (not queen) beds or get a king and ask for a roll-a-way bed (only offered in the king room). As for family room service, the pizza is a quick inexpensive choice. You will not be so pleased that you stayed here!
