We had a studio room, it was enough for our family. The bathroom was nice and I could get ready in there without waking the children. The sink and counter space was inside the bathroom. We had view of the golf course. The room was big enough for my kids to play and it was clean. The fridge kept everything very cold. Transportation was great, we barely drove once we got there. We ate at Goods and we enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay again.

We went May 1 to 7, 2010 with our two kids and stayed at a 2 bedroom villa. The bus stops are really far away from the buildings. I have read about that before we arrived, so during check in I asked for a building near the Hospitality House, but it really didn't help. The second day of our stay we walked to the bus stop, just to be informed they are starting some construction work at the Hospitality House, so we had to move to another bus stop. The rest of our stay we walked to a really far bus stop. Not to mention the long rides the buses did inside the hotel before they stop at ours.
The cleanliness wasn't so good, it was average.
The worst thing of all (for me) was that they don't provide wifi at the rooms. The only internet service is broadband for $9.99 a 24 hour period. The real problem is they only provide one port and is located at the living room, so if someone is using the sleeper sofa you can't use internet!!!. Really bad!

We stayed at Disney's OKW this week. We are DVC members. We had a fabulous time. The grounds are pretty and peaceful. The rooms were huge. We had a 1 bedroom villa and had plenty of room to spare.
Remember...if you stay at a DVC resort as a DVC member, you don't get daily maid service. The washer/dryer in the unit is meant to wash your towels between housekeeping visits. Of course, DVC members already know this!

I really don't understand the bad reviews about this hotel - it's almost as if they stayed somewhere else! The Old Key West resort is charming and friendly, service is great, but the best thing was that the villa we stayed in was absolutely huge! We had ample space for 5 adults, a 3 year old and a baby. Everything from a crib to a feeding chair was provided, as well as complimentary dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent (obviously in addition to the usual toiletries). There was a jacuzzi in the master bedroom and a beautiful balcony overlooking the river. It was vey clean and well-serviced everyday, and quiet and peaceful. I pre-requested a villa near a bus stop and no higher than one floor up due to young children and elderly members of our party, and this was provided. I also got a price much better than anywhere else from lastminute.com. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

My family consists of mom, dad, and 2 kids ages 8 and 14. We booked our stay through an RCI exchange, so the rate of $179 for the week in a studio was well worth it! Upon arriving at the resort, we were warmly greeted. Check in was fast, efficient and organized. The kids were offered balloons and started pin trading immediately. A very informative and thorough welcome packet was given to us with all the information you could possible want to know and then some. Although most people spend most of their time in the parks, there was plenty to do here if you wanted to enjoy the resort.
We were located in building 42 near the Turtle Pond bus stop. Although the UNofficial Guide says this is not a desirable building, we liked it. It was away from the hubub of the main building and pool, had its own pool adjacent to the building andf was just a skip away from buses going anywhere in WDW. We had a lovely view of the lake and gold course out the balcony.
Our studio unit was on the second floor with 2 flights of stairs. There was no elevator access or luggage cart available. Parking next to the stairwell was never a problem though. There was a small landing outside the door to the unit. Once inside, the decor and colors were typical of the keys. There was a large room with 2 double beds, a nightstand (IHome, alarm clock, 2 drawers), large dresser and spacious closet. The kitchenette included a mini fridege with small freezer, coffeemaker, microwave, bar sink, glasses, mugs, plenty of paper goods and plastic utensils, a sponge, dish detergent, 2 rolls of paper towels, and a well lit (small) counter. Wall space over the sink was wasted with a mirroe instead of storage space. The bathroom was spacious with a large vanity, good lighting, full length mirror, towels for 4+, extra toilet paper and 1 drawer. There was also a set of shampoo/conditioner and several bars of soaps.
The sitting area had a table and 2 padded chairs. The balcony had a small patio table and 2 chairs. Both the patio doors and the windows had room darkening shades as well as wooden blinds. There was a tv (36"?) and a DVD player. The closet also came equipped with a vaccum, broom/dustpan, safe, portacrib, and luggage rack. The carpets, bedding, and linenes were clean and fresh. Some of the furniture was a bit worn around the bottom edges and the patio blinds were a bit moldy along the bottom edge. There were some corners that were not as clean as they could have been, but overall, the room was clean. I can be rather fussy.
The beds were very comfortable if you like soft pillows. There were also extra pillows. The ac and ceiling fans worked well and there was good lighting in the room.
Both pools we visited were exceptionally clean and well maintained. The sandcastle pool with a waterslide was a favorite with my kids. There was excellent supervision at the pools. There was also a hot tub, sauna, kiddie pool, sand play area, and shuffleboard and ping pong near the pools. Bathrooms at the Hospitality House pool were not so tidy and clean. It also depended on what time of day you visited them. A bonus for the studio unit, which lacked its own washer/drier was the free laundry facility at each pool. Bring your own detergent or buy from the vending machine. Relax by the pool while you do your laundry. You must get to the pool very early to get a chaise lounge or chair, they disappear quickly.
We did not eat at the resaturants in the resort, so I cannot comment on them. We did however take advantage of the resort refillable mug for $12.95 and got way more than our money's worth in beverages. Skip the groceries in the shop, they are way overpriced. Bring your own, grocery shop, or order groceries. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The biggest complaint I have about the resort is the buses take FOREVER to get around WDW. We drove most of the time (parking is free in WDW for resort guests) so we didn't have to worry about the buses very much. We really loved our trip and the resort. I would stay at this resort again and refer a friend as well. The positives FAR outweigh the negatives.
