“Exceptional Service & Value. Why Stay Anywhere Else?”
Reviewed December 23, 2013

If you enjoy the Orlando and Disney experience, but just want to be slightly removed from the fray, I can think of no better option than this hotel. Essentially smack dab in the middle of WDW, right down the road from the back entrance to Epcot and close to other parks. Exceptional, personal service and elegance without pretense. And the price to value ratio was absolutely the best we have ever experienced in Orlando, or frankly in any hotel of this level anywhere. Great suite overlooking the park for what you would pay for a "moderate" hotel in most cities. Only used the shuttle once - that was a little time consuming, but it was easy to just text for your car and the valet had it ready as soon as you came down and cabs were plentiful if you didn't want to drive. Didn't get a chance to play the course but the golf shop staff was incredibly accommodating when I dropped by to hit some balls. Every employee we encountered took the "extra step". First class operation all the way.

Firstly, there is no on-site parking other than the valet service at $24/night, a fact which is not revealed at the time of booking so add that to room rate.(a sulk if you don't use it). On 2 of the 4 nights the room wasn't made up and at 5pm we had to call for it to be done! 2 of the 4 nights turn-down was not done as at 11pm. Excessively expensive without the concomitant value. Went over to the Hilton after experiencing the service and was very impressed. Only the bathroom at the Hilton was noticeably smaller.

Room Tip: Choose a room which is high up and looks onto the Disney Park, but rather go for the Hilton next doo...

We stayed at the Orlando location on Friday, the 20th and attended Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party at the Magic Kingdom. When we left by shuttle at 3PM we were told by the hotel staff that the last shuttle would be there to pick us up at 12:50AM, the party was from 4Pm to 12Am. We got to our location at 11:57 and asked the park's security where the shuttle would pick us up. We were told C01, which we knew and just wanted to verify. I called the WA to confirm the 12:50 departure and was told "yes, 12:50 and again 1:50AM" Again, just called to verify. An officer working the shuttles tells us that the last departure for the WA was at 7:50 PM. By this time it was well over 12:50, the time the hotel staff told us we'd have a shuttle. We called the hotel approximately 4 times after 12:50AM and was 5 minutes each time. The WA didn't do anything about us being stranded at the magic kingdom. We had to solve the problem ourself, after being lead to believe there was a shuttle coming for over 1.5 hours. We will never stay there again. A hotel of this size and history should have sent a taxi at the first call of no shuttle. How does this happen? Incompetent staff that is clueless.

We stayed for our 30th Wedding Anniversary, will be back. If top of the line service, excellent attention to detail, fantastic rooms and convenience to Disney & Universal are all on your list this is the place. Jose is a great asset. He coordinated bags, hotel arrangements and assistance with our questions and needs, and helped make our anniversary special; he's one of the best - thanks!. The lobby bar, its menu and piano combined with superior service is a great place to unwind. Pool, gym and spa are what you'd expect from a WA facility. The Hilton, a sister property, connected via outdoor trail or indoor conference center is a nice benefit for those with younger children (not to mention young at heart adults), its lazy river, water slide and food/beverage service are a convenient plus (charging privileges provide - no added fee, enjoy your float on the river). Yes, WA charges a resort fee; personally - I'd prefer it in the room rate. We didn't add the package for $50 credit and breakfast, recommend it if you are planning leisurely departures to the theme parks.

This hotel was close to Disney World which was one of the reasons we chose it. All the staff were very nice. The hotel was beautiful. We were there for only the one night but we would stay here again. My only problem was we were planning on using the hotel shuttle to go do Disney World for Mickey's Christmas party that ran from 7 to midnight. The night we were there the hotel shuttle was only running till about 7:46. We had to go over and pay for parking at Disney instead of using the shuttle. If you are that close to Disney and offer a shuttle then you should accommodate all the hours of Disney.

If the all-inclusive resorts are not your taste and you prefer luxurious accommodations over the family package/full Disney amenities, then I would highly recommend this resort property. It's close enough to all the attractions but far enough away to give you the feel of exclusivity. The grounds are gorgeous and the one bedroom suite with a balcony overlooking the park is phenomenal. Room service is delicious, the staff is beyond exceptional and they are willing to arrange just about anything you desire for your stay. We will visit Orlando again soon and the Waldorf will be the only resort where we reserve our stay.

Excellent hotel.. takes care of all the little details that make the stay extra special. Well appointed rooms, friendly staff, great facilities. The outdoor pool area is excellent for lazing around. Didn't go to Disney at all and it was still a great stay.
