We travel extensively and usually stay in a Ritz Carlton or a Four Season's facility. We were very concerned that this property would not come up to that standard. Were we wrong. From the beginning the employees at this property actually could read our mind on what we wanted. We could find nothing wrong. The restaurants were excellent and service was above and beyond. We were there on business/fun and they fulfilled every need. They are connected to the Hilton so you have both properties to use. We traveled on their buses to the Disney properties and it was so easy. Even the bus drivers were obliging to our needs. Let me mention the food again. The Bull and Bear Restaurant was excellent. We ate there three times. We have our own airplanes and when we left a bag in the room they delivered it to our airport at no charge. We are now booking a weekend at one of their facilities in New Orleans based on our stay at Orlando. The bellman Mick is quality. Ryan at the pool bar ended up being a friend. I am ready to head back.

You should stay at the Waldorf if you are:
-- On a business trip and want to avoid the family crowds
-- A wealthy baby boomer looking for luxury
-- With a date looking for elegant romance
-- A golfer

If you have kids or want a more casual environment, stay at the Hilton next door.

Location
This is as close as you can get Disney without staying with Disney. It's close to all the Disney attractions including Downtown Disney. It is also easily accessible from I-4 exit 67.

Price
Rooms typically run $149-250 which is a real deal for an upscale hotel.

Food
There are two main restaurants in the hotel. The Bull & Bear is a super expensive steak house. Oscars is the hotel cafe where breakfast is $28. If you want more variety stay at the Hilton next door. Room tip -- if you stay on the side of the building over the Bull & Bear (even on a high floor) expect to smell charred steak during your stay.

Room
Rooms are large and well equipped in modern elegance. They have all the usual electronic amenities and Ferragamo toiletries.

Pool/Spa
High end luxurious spa. There are two pools. One of them is designed for kids but I've never seen any there. The pools are quiet -- perfect if you want to just relax and read a book. If you're looking for family fun or a festive atmosphere, you can take the long walk (or ride) to the Hilton pool which includes a lazy river.

Lobby
Gorgeous. A modern interpretation of the classic. Upscale yet accessible and artistic. The lobby bar is large with music. In February they have a gourmet chocolate bar.

Valet
Super fast and friendly. Very professional. They keep cars moving and you feel like a VIP.

Service
Overall excellent. Housekeeping was discreet, polite and thorough. Check in was fast and friendly. Check out was a horrible chaotic mess. There were about 50 people waiting for four check out counters. All the while there were hotel staff standing in the lobby with nothing to do. Check out was an absolutely horrible ending to an otherwise quality stay.

HHonors
No HHonors benefits even for Diamond members. No upgrade, no free breakfast. They do give free wifi however. With no perks it feels like you're an outsider. It's not the same as other Hilton hotels. Very disappointing when you would expect a higher level of service. Still can't understand why the perks are fewer the higher you go up the food chain at the Hilton hotels.

Room Tip: Don't stay above the Bull & Bear unless you like the smell of charred steak.

My partner and I recently went to the Waldorf Astoria for a long weekend and I have to say I wish I could have stayed for a week. The staff was extremely attentive, the room was large and beautiful, and the overall atmosphere was amazing. There is a clear sense that the staff enjoys working there and cares about the service they provide. I will definately be back to visit again.

Our recent stay at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando was OUTSTANDING! The service was personal, kind, attentive and best of all the staff were truly GENUINE! The housekeeping is excellent. Thank you Monica!! I have severe allergies and the housekeeping were understanding and helpful. The concierge, Michelle, is a great girl and helped with our allergy issues. She also wished our youngest a happy Birthday with a cupcake! Room Service kindly sent waffles and Miguel, from the front desk, sent a stuffed bear to wish our youngest a wonderful birthday! We felt valued as guest and they treated us like royalty. Thanks to the entire team! The rooms are beautifully appointed, and very clean. We are looking forward to our next visit in the Excellent Waldorf Astoria Orlando!

Room Tip: All rooms beautiful!

The hotel, the grounds, the pool, and the resturants were amazing. The room was fantastic and the cleaning staff was exceptional. But what really put it over the top for us was the staff! Everywhere we went the staff managed to exceed our expectations. My favorite was at check-in, my husband casualy mentioned that it was our anniversary and within the hour, a lovely bottle of wine and a hand written note appeared in our room while we were in the gym. Really outstanding stay! I would highly recommend!!!

Room Tip: Request a view of the golf course
