“Executive Lounge is GREAT!”
Reviewed September 28, 2010

Chris and Maria in the Executive Lounge were absolutely amazing. After a long day, I went up to have a glass of wine and snack before a conference reception. Didn't realize I had just missed the snacks. Chris went back to the kitchen and fixed a great little plate of cheeses and fruit for myself and a colleague. Now THAT'S what I call superb customer service.

Bravo Hilton, for finding these gems.

The Hilton Orlando is a very nice facility overall. It was a great stay, with one major problem: It was extremely loud.

The doors to the rooms close so loudly and the rooms are so poorly sound insulated that it was impossible to sleep past about 6 o'clock when people start leaving for meeting and the theme parks. It was like a pots and pans parade until about 8 am.

I would have rated this hotel a 5 because my stay was otherwise very nice, but if you can't get a restful night's sleep at a hotel, it really kind of doesn't matter how nice the rest of the hotel is.

If you are an early riser, go ahead and book it.

I found the staff (front desk, concierge, and bell staff) all well-trained and accommodating. The pool area was large and has a "quiet pool" geared toward adults, but the regular pool area was very quiet and relaxing as well. The lazy river was very fun and the water slide was surprisingly fast.

I was traveling on business and used the meeting facility, which I also found to be clean and quiet.

I had lunch in The Bistro, which served pretty standard lunch fare. It was pretty good, but standard hotel prices apply (i.e., $15 for a turkey sandwich and fries + taxes and tip).

Finally, this is a vacation hotel, but largely a convention hotel. As with most convention hotels, it caters to people traveling on an expense account (which I was), but if you are thinking about this hotel for a vacation, be prepared to be nickel and dimed (which I don't enjoy). $10 to use the fitness room, $20 for valet parking, $12 to self park, $15 for Wifi. I don't mind paying a premium to park in cities, where parking spaces can be scarce. But Orlando is nothing but one giant parking lot.

On the upside, the location was nicely tucked away, but close enough for you to enjoy the various attractions if that's what you are there for.

Extraordinary hotel. WIth the hotel opened within the last year, everything was in perfect working order, quiet, spotlessly clean, impecaably designed and decorated, and super friendly from the moment one arrived until departure. With the wonderfully clean design, this was the perfect place to relax and enjoy all the amentities available, read, and use as a home base to explore the greater Orlando area. The dining room on the Lower Level has a terrific morning brunch. And again, everyone was so hospitable and accommodating.

Stayed here for a total of 7 nights and I could not have been happier. We arrived a bit early but were offered an early check in. When we got to our room I was suprised to find a refrigerator in our room! Usually you have to pay extra for that. The rooms were were modern, new and roomy. The TV was a brand new 42 inch LG with HDMI input which was great so I could hook up my laptop and play my 2 year old's movies. We rented a car so nothing really ever seemed that far. The hotel is in the middle of Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios. The pool is amazing! It was never very busy while we were there and the slide was great! Can't say enough good things about this place. Me and my family will be back in Sept 2011.

The two words are Rick and Danielle! Two employees who exemplify what the hospitality world is all about. I was in town for The American Pizza Championships and my sister and I had a problem with Expedia. We went to the front desk to help solve the problem, and met Rick. He did everything right naturally-he wasn't a "trained what to say employee." After about 15 minutes of trying to figure out what happened, he moved us to a suite and sent free beer and soft drinks. Most of my experiences with front desks are not much to talk about, but this guy really cared, really took interest, and really solved the problem. Thanks Rick! Now Danielle-Unbelievably thorough and sweet. I own a few restaurants and she made me the best Mojito ever! Didn't have much time to talk to her, but when I did, she did what every bartender is supposed to do-make you feel great! Thanks Danielle and Rick, hope to see you next September ! Patrick Maggi

This is a great hotel. Rooms are spacious, quiet and clean. Restaurants are also good and there is also a great pool area at the hotel to keep the kids happy. The gym is also very good.
