“Great Hotel and Pool”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

Outstanding place to stay in Orlando. The pool is fantastic - great for kids, with a big slide and lazy river, and a quiet adult pool. Largest pool at any hotel I've ever stayed. It's centrally located in Orlando with easy access on and off.

My family of 4 recently went to this hotel for a local weekend getaway. This hotel offered a 30 hour package where you can check in early (10am) and check out late (4pm) which made it extremely attractive. We hung out at the pool, slide and lazy river all weekend and it was wonderful. My boys 5 years and almost 6 months both had a great time. All of the staff was nice and attentive. We ate breakfast at the marketplace and their sandwiches were very good. The pool service is great. By the pools there is a seperate adult pool, a mini golf course and a jogging trail. You will not be bored at this property. Definately a great place to stay. I know we will be back for another local getaway!

Just finished my stay here for a conference. I should start by saying we are elite members for Marriott, and very partial to their properties, so many of the things I felt fell short are because of my experiences with Marriott.

First of all - the front desk was always handled by only one person. I would never normally notice this but had to go up there three times. First because the promised late check out was not on my reservations. Second, the promised crib was not in our room, and third the rate I had in my email confirmation and was standard for the conference was not what I received on the bill this morning in my room. Also, the 15% off was not taken on most of my charges.

The food I can only comment on what was at the pool - and it was very good. We had some simple things and enjoyed them. The drinks were priced as I am used to at pool bars for nice hotels, but the quality was very average. They tasted watered down. Not worth $13.

I waited 20 minutes at a coffee cart, they we out of coffee all morning but never thought to let people know this.

There is no place for a good coffee, there is a marketplace very far from the pool, which has cups that state it's Starbucks, but the taste was nothing like Starbucks.

The room was great, very clean, the bathroom was updated, the housekeeping always came late but that was fine for us.

The biggest thing I want people to know. Again, this is based on my experience of Marriott concierge lounge, do NOT pay the money for the Executive Lounge. It's absolutely NOT worth the money. There is NO drinks to go, no bottled water!! There is no eggs. Breakfast is pastries, yogurt, cereals and bagels. No lunch, and appetizers are snap peas, bread, and hummus. No drinks at all except infused water which you must put in a glass.

Sorry to go on and on, I actually enjoyed the pool itself the most. After that, the hotel needs some improvement.

Room Tip: Higher floor on the 19 floor side, you can see sea world fireworks.

It started out OK. Everything was going good. I was there for a convention and chose to stay over rather than drive back and forth. A fire alarm was pulled on our floor--7 at 11:30pm and even though we were sound asleep we had to walk down 7 flights of stairs. It was really mishandled too, no body seem to know what was going on. We couldn't use the elevators going down but were somehow immediately able to use them to get back up. The amenities were fine, but if a hotel can't provide for the safety of it's guests and give them a place of uninterrupted sleep, how good of a hotel is it really? If you value sleep I wouldn't stay here.

I was here for a convention held at the hotel. I did not have a car but from what others said, parking was easy and there were no long lines. Room 1281 (12th floor) was large and comfortable. The glass topped desk was big enough to do work and the ergonomic chair was of good quality and comfortable. There were 2 electrical outlets on the desk. The bathroom was well appointed and very clean. The TV was a large flat screen. Internet was fast and reliable but there was an annoying $20 per day "resort fee" that covered internet phone, fitness center, recreational ammenities and a 15% discount on food and beverages in the hotel. Hotel convention center is connected to the Orance County Convention Center by a covered elevated walkway

Room Tip: If you want to save money, there is a Days Inn and a Clarion right across the street. There is also...

We stayed here during Easter break. As you might imagine, the hotel and all of Orlando was extremely busy. Service was very good, and the hotel decor was fresh, clean and modern. It is central to Orlando attractions particularly seaworld and universal studios which we visited during this stay. We splurged on a pool cabana on our last day. Given how busy the pools were, and how early the pool chairs were 'reserved' with guest towels, we were glad we did it. The cabana came with towels, loungers, outdoor tv, ceiling fan, fresh fruit bowl, water and refrigerator, and we had it for the whole day. We liked our stay here. Just be warned that the hotel seems to nickel and dime for profits. We frequented the onsite market for breakfast and Starbucks each morning. The pricing is double what you will pay for outside the hotel. Wifi had a daily charge per device! On checkout, I asked the front desk to remove the extra charges, which they did accommodate.

Was there for a wedding anniversary and rented a Cabana by the pool...room for plenty in couches...Soft Chairs...Lounge Chairs . Refrigerator, Flat Screen, Fans and plenty of room inside and out....for Sun Lovers and Sun Blockers.
Trip on July 4th so a lot of people at their huge pool that has water slides...basketball hoops, a gigantic "Lazy River" tube relaxing ride.
Service is great at the Cabana as you get your own personal wait staffer...Made for a great family day, in or out of the sun
