My husband and I attend the Gartner Symposium every October and for the past 5 years we have chosen the Hilton Bonnet Creek for accommodations. What can I say? I love this hotel. Every year we stay for a week, he goes to the conference and I usually either work from the room or just hang around and relax. We have had many opportunities to interact with the staff and I feel really confident that you will have a great experience here. Here's how it breaks down:
The good:
* Nice location - we don't like being right in the middle of the conference, and this is only about 10 - 15 minutes away on the free shuttles. Also relatively close to the Parks.
* Rooms and facilities are very nice - it is a very pretty hotel and the rooms and common areas are clean, modern and welcoming
* Pool area is a nice split between areas for adults and things kids would want to do. It's essentially a lazy river set up with several larger areas where you can wade in/out. There are also several hot tubs which are usually not overrun with kids and there is a water slide which I did not try. Looks fun, though. I think kids would be at least moderately amused.
* The main bar - The main bar here is my favorite, to be honest. The food and drinks are awesome, the space is really nice. The best thing is that the people are very, very nice and the service has always been top notch. In particular, Jeff made me the best French 75 I've ever had - seriously. There were many others in the bar who worked very hard to make my stay nice but sadly I'm not great with names. I think there was a Lindsay, though? (Sorry, main bar peeps - I really did love you guys!!) Also, the burrata and greens salad with salmon (or shrimp) was to die for and the meat and cheese plate is hearty and fantastic. 10/10 I totally recommend this bar, both for food and drinks - and of course for service.
* Facilities/maintenance crew: Dang, these guys were fast. I'd have preferred I not need them, but I did (twice) and they were ON IT and both times the issue was resolved within minutes.
* The staff - literally every single person I've interacted with at this hotel (which has been a lot - I've essentially stayed there for five weeks over the years) has been friendly, helpful and kind. This is the kind of behavior I constantly tell my kids is important in life and I really mean it. I'm a reasonable human being, I don't get crazy with the requests (nor should you, lol, no one likes that) but I have to say the staff at this place have always been super nice to me.
The not good: (every place has it's issues, right?)
* Two issues with the toilet - it would not flush when we arrived and then a few days later water started shooting out of the back of the tank when it was flushed. Both times maintenance was there within minutes and the issue was quickly resolved.
* Tub didn't drain very quickly. I didn't call because it wasn't a major issue, but it was a minor inconvenience.
That's it folks. If you're looking for a good hotel in Orlando - this one is a VERY solid choice.
