I can start with the positive- stayed here 7 nights with my family. The outside of the resort is beautiful- pool was awesome and immaculate, lazy river perfect, everything around the lounge chairs was clean, the pool bathroom was always clean, never had a problem getting chairs or towels, water slide was an added bonus (my son was on it all day) and the Beech food was really good even if it was a little expensive. But all hotels over charge in their restaurants. Our hotel room was on the 14th floor, pool view and in the distance was Downtown Disney. The room wasn't really big but it was clean and the beds were in the top 3 of my most comfortable of beds. I have no complaints about the accommodations.
The negative- and this really bothers me because when everything else is near perfect but the staff ruins your stay, it makes you never want to come back. Keep in mind I am a Hilton Honors member and I booked directly through Hilton. I was there on vacation with my family and another family. I was informed initially that I would be charged $22 per day for a resort fee, which I understand. I dont like it but I get it. It turns out that the family we were there with did NOT have to pay the resort fee AND they were given breakfast vouchers. So I went to the front desk and inquired about why this family did not have to pay the resort fee and we did. They had no response- and after a long period of questioning, they told us its because this family booked through an online site such as Expedia or something. Ok- so let me understand- I am a dedicated Hilton member and I have to pay the fee but anyone who does NOT book through you does not have to pay it? I was furious- so I asked breakfast vouchers AT LEAST- and the clerk got the manager and the manger told us no. So- no vouchers and I have to pay an extra $154 resort fee. Then I asked for a late check out because I couldnt even get a free breakfast and the manager also said no. I found that to be terrible. By the way, kids eat free for breakfast but for two adults its $54, so it does not seem free.
I felt as a Hilton Honors member I could have been given something since I pointed out to them that I'm getting scammed out of a resort fee but other families there dont have to pay it.
Great resort for families- but customer service was terrible
