“Great stay and nice location for a family trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

We had an amazing time at the Hilton Bonnet Creek. When we arrived and checked in, we were upgraded to a one bedroom with an attached large living room with sleep sofa, kitchenette, dining space and large office area which was perfect because I had to work while we were there.

The lobby was spacious and offered plenty of room to stretch out and relax, have a drink or just visit in the afternoon, rooms were large and welcoming. The pool area was great for the kids, who also loved the lazy river.

The food in each of the dining locations (we ate in all of them over the week we were there) was very good, and if you are a Hilton Honors member, use your continental breakfast certificate to upgrade to a full breakfast for just $4 or $5. My family of four ate a huge, full breakfast each day for a grand total of $17 before tip.

The only con was that we were far enough from Disney that if you missed the shuttle, or it was full and you need to cab, it was $30 or so each way... I really wish they ran shuttles a bit more often.

We stayed with points and the $22 per day "resort fee" was waived. However, the $16 per day parking fee was not. The room was beautiful and large. However, you need to factor into the price of the additional fees. The pool/lazy river looked nice, but we didn't have an opportunity to use.

Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek® is a new family-oriented resort close to Orlando's theme park magic -Excellent customer service but lots of fees (see review) . Located within the gates of Walt Disney World® Resort, the resort is nestled in the serene 482-acre Bonnet Creek nature preserve, easily accessible to Universal Orlando Resort® and Sea World Orlando ® as well. The resort is well layed out and offers 1,001 spacious and elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites and an array of family activities and amenities -among my favorites are a 3-acre lazy river pool with water slide that is ranked #1 on the TripAdvisor Top 10 Resort Pools® -daily poolside activities made my stay great! This really is the distinct value of the hotel. Negatives- There is a daily resort fee but you will also find this same fee at resorts like Hyatt Grand Cypress® and Wyndham Bonnet Creek@ (Wyndham resort fee is lower thou and includes internet -$16 vs $22 or $25). The WA Kids Club, at the adjacent Waldorf Astoria Orlando, offered a variety of creative and educational activities for children ages 5-12. Another benefit with cost next door is the WA Spa but to relax with the spa's tea lounge, steam room, and jacuzzi is another daily fee of $30.

I recommend not renting a car (the resort has an expensive parking fee) and using the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek complimentary luxury motorcoach transportation to Disney theme parks including Magic Kingdon®, Epcot®, Disney's Hollywood Studios® and Disney's Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney® by Mears transportation (not as convenient as onsite Disney but good).

The resort also offers championship golf (fun even for beginners), a relaxing spa, and twelve restaurant and lounges including the acclaimed La Luce by Donna Scala. The guest room featured a seating area, marble bathroom (note shower had low pressure -hotel said working on that) the size was approximately 414 square feet of space a llarger 37-inch high-definition flat-screen television and the Stereo alarm clock am/fm radio with MP3 connection were all functional. I did not like (even though complimentary for Gold and higher HHonors members) internet access as it only allows one device and wife and I both have lap tops and cell phones. For families consider upgrading for space to A Hilton Suite as they can help w/ requirements such as more space for family in residence, or simply for entertaining 1,665 square feet of space Spacious living room with a queen-size sleeper sofa (kids never do get great bedding except at suite oriented properties.

Hilton Signature Serenity BedTM and the Peter Thomas Roth® bath and shower amenities add to the bathroom but again water pressure is a problem. Wireless and Ethernet high-speed Internet services are okay -but again limited. The Work desk with two-line telephone with voicemail is great for those attending conferences, I did like the Mini-refrigerator and coffeemaker but found more functional space at a nearby Homewood Suites in Lake Buena Vista if you are a Hilton fan. TheHilton Orlando Bonnet Creek is now featuring PURE Rooms, an allergy-friendly, healthier alternative and the rooms do smell fresh, the actual Serenity Bed TM is nice but not as comfortable as the Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista in my opinion.

I did find the dining options limited Harvest Bistro - Overlooking the pool, this restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch. A children's menu is available. La Luce - Overlooking the pool, this restaurant specializes in Italian cuisine and serves dinner only. Guests can enjoy drinks at the bar. MUSE - This coffee shop serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can enjoy drinks at the bar. Afternoon tea is offered. The most expensive thing onsite is
24-hour room service available with 4x the price of comparible resorts go to Downtown Disney for much less.

Room Tip: I suggest parlor rooms with king beds Disney/Pool view

The hotel and property are very nice, well appointed, and comfortable all around. The lobby area is always busy, lots of people hanging out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a great time hanging out at the restaurant bar.

The rooms are fully modern, large, we had a view of the pools, lots of space to spread out, comfortable beds.

This hotel is very well done and a great deal for the price. We had it pegged as a full service resort without being a luxury property, so we could afford it, and we were pleased with the results.

Yes, we liked this place. Even though I have given it 5 stars, here are the potential issues:

The pool is shallow... too shallow - only 3 ft. deep! And the pool bar was not open most of the time we were there.

Also, we spent a day at Epcot and it was a waste of time. Why didn't anyone warn us?

Great place for the disney park. You have to think broad to understand why you pay the fees. That is why its a resort the varity of restaurant and bar. Also the transportation is amazing and the enviroment of the hotel is awesome. You have the "option" to play golf or use there spa or just relax in there lazy river. However, I enjoy my stay not just because the rooms are really clean and comfortable but the enviorment was just simply amazing. The place is big enough for you to feel secluded from the busy world. In my opinion, that is hard to do when you are in disney.

I'm a big fan of this property and have stayed at the Waldorf next door on many occasions. This was an impromptu trip, and the Waldorf was full, so I decided to stay next door at the Hilton Bonnet Creek. I was not disappointed at all. This is a clean, well run property with friendly staff and great amenities. I want to especially thank the security and lost and found staff. My son left one of his favorite toys in the room, and we didn’t realize this until we had driven about halfway home. We called the hotel, and they immediately made arrangements to have the toy FedEx’ed to our home.

My favorite part of this hotel is the pool / lazy river. A great alternative to the crowded parks on hot, crowded days. You do get a lot of conventions at this hotel, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Room Tip: Get the Disney / Golf Course view if possible.

Overall, I liked this hotel a lot. Great location (near to Disney parks and with free frequent shuttle), great service, extremely clean room with a little bit of decor (not super luxurious but it's generally nice), nice little cafe (Muse) convenient for takeaway (e.g. muffins, yogurt, coffee), good Italian restaurant, nice pool, etc.
However, it was disappointing that when my boyfriend and I arrived at the hotel on the first night, we were informed by 2 front line staff that the hotel was overbooked (there was a huge conference in the hotel) and they had to move us (as well as other guests) to Buena Vista hotel, with first night free and lower rates the rest of our stay. We were shocked to be moved from a rank #5 hotel on Tripadvisor to rank #133 upon arrival. The two staff wouldn't offer any other options, only kept emphasizing "first night free at Buena Vista" despite my insistence that it wasn't about the money..... it was frustrating. Thankfully, after talking to the manager Ms Chu, she made an effort to explore different options, and managed to find us a room in Hilton, otherwise our vacation would have been ruined. We truly appreciated Ms Chu's sincerity to help, and her effort to save our vacation. She managed the situation really well. I just hope that the Hilton management can stop treating its guests this way, moving them last minute to budget hotels in order to accommodate corporate guests which I understand are much higher value. My boyfriend and I both travel extensively for work and this incident made us lose trust in the the Hilton brand name overall. I wish this would never happen to other guests in the future.
