“Beautiful Resort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2014

We loved and recommend this resort. It was close to the parks we wanted to visit, Disney World and Universal Studios. The suite was like home. The view from our room was great. We really enjoyed the onsite activities they had for the family.

We are Hilton Grand Vacation owners and always stayed at Hilton Sea World but decided to try Parc Soliel and what a beautiful hotel! So modern, clean, spacious rooms, full kitchen - we didn't want to leave!

Beautiful pool with a water slide for the kids - 4 hot tubs and 2 additional pools. Poolside activities for kids and adults, too. This hotel is slightly off by itself but still close to everything. We will definitely be going back!

If you are staying in Orlando, definitely look into staying at the Parc Soliel or Hilton Grand at Sea World - you won't be disappointed!

I've stayed with HGVC for the past twenty years, and I've never been disappointed with any of their properties, or their services. If I could give them a 10 star rating, I would!! The concierge at each resort is very helpful and offer discounts at local attractions and restaurants. The activity counselors at the Orlando resorts are friendly, funny and great with the children of all ages. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

We received a cold call from Hilton (we are not HHonors members) offering us a three-night stay for $200 at a Hilton Grand Vacation property in Orlando. The only catch was that we would have to sit through a timeshare presentation.

The hotel itself is not bad, but I've long felt that Hilton tends to rest on its laurels, and this property did nothing to change my mind. We were booked for a studio (which we knew going in), but the room was still disappointing. First and foremost, the studio rooms all apparently have very low-quality AC units, which sound like a freight train and make it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. Second, the bathroom is oddly laid out, with a big open space between the shower and the sink, but no bathtub. It looks like the bathrooms were originally planned to include a tub, but the builders ultimately decided against it. Third, housecleaning shows up inconveniently late in the day. 4:45 is when many families are returning from the pool or a day's activities to shower up for dinner. It's not a great time to clean.

The reflections pool is very nice, but it's not worth it to rent one of the cabanas. Doing so will run you $120 a day (or $45 for a half day), and all you get is a fridge filled with water and soda, as well as an order of fruit and stale chips from the restaurant. Better to park yourself under a free umbrella and bring your own snacks.

There is only one restaurant on property, and it is fairly casual. It also seems to be the central hub for much of the hotel's operations, and the servers are clearly overworked. Several times we had to stop a server dead in her tracks just to be acknowledged.

The hotel has tennis courts and a jogging path, but no spa or golfing...really, none of the things that one would associate with a high-end vacation resort, which makes the timeshare pitch so strange. If you're trying to induce people to shell out $10K for the privilege of yoking themselves to the Hilton brand for the foreseeable future, you'd think you'd want to offer more than the basic amenities you could get at most mid-level hotels. The sales people claim that a waterpark will be operational on-site in a few months. This would require the installation of a massive water filtration and purification system, and clearly the construction for such a project hasn't started. Nor have they started to build the two extra towers they've been telling guests about for three years, judging from past reviews.

As for the timeshare pitch...well, it was interesting. We told our salesman right off the bat that we weren't really interested, so we spent the first half hour just chatting with him--a pleasant enough experience if you ignored his awkward name-dropping of minor celebrities, at least until one of his stories included a veiled but fairly obvious reference to his discomfort around black people. He then launched into his sales presentation, which was fine. But again, the theme of the pitch was "Hilton is great because it's Hilton," which is fine if you've demonstrated the service and luxury to back it up. Parc Soleil falls far short of that. Anyway, at the end of the presentation, we told him we didn't think time sharing was right for us. He turned a little nasty, muttered "good luck," then sent over a manager who made a rude comment about us obviously not liking vacations, as if Hilton is the only option worldwide. This despite the fact that absolutely nothing about this or any other Hilton property makes me want to invest money with them.

In short, Parc Soleil is a perfectly fine hotel, but it has a long way to go before it can be recognized as a luxury resort. It seems clear that the property is understaffed and doesn't have the revenue to begin, much less finish, promised construction.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful resort. Great activities staff - nice variety of offerings that appealed to children and adults. Conveniently located near WDW, Sea World and many restaurants. Also close to shopping (Publix, Walmart) and major highway. Prices in on-site restaurant were reasonable.

I found this resort through tripadvisor but bought it through expedia. I couldn't wait to see it because of all the great reviews it has gotten. The resort is very nice with underground parking and hardwood floors in the rooms. Its a very simple room but sometimes simple is best. They have great t.v channels for the rainy nights and the bathroom was very nice and spacious. What they dont have is room service and the grill/bar menu is on the small side. I didn't go swimming in the pools but I enjoyed knowing there was a big pool and a smaller one in case I didn't want to be around a lot of people. I have to give a shout out to the room service because they were awesome!! The location is in the middle of everything but in a section of its own. From the outside you might pass by the opening because you have to drive a 1/2 mile to get to the gates from the main street. Once they build more buildings it will look a lot better. Now the real question is if I will go again. If I can get it for the same price again I will consider.
