“Best Park at Disney World!”
Reviewed July 4, 2007

My husband, three nieces, and I just got back from Florida and did the Disney thing again. Epcot was the best, as usual. Lots of things going on to entertain us and our three teenaged nieces. Test Track was the best ride, Nemo was cute, and we always enjoy walking through
the different countries. Illuminations, the fireworks show, was cool,
even though it was rainy. Be prepared for very hot and humid weather in the summer; also, expect it to rain somtimes during your trip. As long as you don't let the weather get you down, you'll have a good time!

“The best of all the parks”
Reviewed June 29, 2007

This was my second time to Epcot, the first was with all adults, this time with 5 kids under 10. I think this park has the best rides and the best mix of things to do. World Showplace is the best part of the park. I think this park is also the best in terms of how it is organized.

re Food

Alfredo's is in Italy and is a great sit down restaurant and a great place to relax in the middle of your day at the park. The strolling accordian player and singers are a real treat.

France is the place for the dessert. The Patisserie Bakery is a great place for breakfast or a coffee break. I had the Peach Tart ($4.25) and it was so light and flaky, I got another one to go.

“Great Park and Insider Tips based on our trip”
Reviewed June 25, 2007

Background: We were first timers to EPCOT; are in our late 30s; and we went without kids. Here’s our review and tips meant especially for those traveling without children.

We went to EPCOT on a Thursday in late June and had a great time. We got to the park without tickets at 8:15 am, anticipating a long line for the opening of the gates at 9 am. To our great surprise, there was no line at all to buy tickets. We did have to wait in line for the opening of the gates, but that line moved very rapidly. All bags are checked at the gate but the Park allows visitors to bring in bottled water and snacks. The gates opened at 8:50 am and we were allowed in the park to get our bearings. However, Goofy and other Disney characters kept park visitors from queuing up for the rides until 9 am. Oddly, this was the only time the whole day at Epcot that we ever saw any characters outside in the park.

[Note to parents: Epcot does now have a designated indoor character stop where your family may be photographed with a large variety of Disney characters. The line for this is extremely long at all times. I would suggest doing it first thing into the park if that’s an important moment/souvenir for your family.]

We went straight to Soarin’ and got a FastPass. It was timed for 9:45 – 10:45 am. Then we got in the regular line for Soaring. It took about 20 minutes to board the ride. As soon as we were finished and walked back around to the front of the attraction, we were able to use the FastPass to ride Soarin’ again. We loved this ride.

From Soaring, we went immediately over to Test Track. Again, we got a FastPass first, then got in the regular line. The staging area for this attraction was very inventive, which made it fun to wait for the ride. At this attraction, the board said the line was 40 minutes in the regular line and 20 minutes for single riders. We took the single rider route, got on in 15 minutes and were put in a car together, even though we were in the single rider line. We loved this ride, too, and couldn’t decide which we liked better: Soarin’ or Test Track. What a great ride. This time, our FastPass was for 2 hours later, so we couldn’t ride twice in a row as we had with Soarin’.

We continued around Future World for the next few hours. From 9 am – 1 pm, Epcot was virtually deserted, even though it was the middle of summer. We got on or into every attraction within 20 minutes. At many attractions, we walked right in with no wait at all. After lunch, however, there was a noticeable difference in crowd size. I advise all to go early, have a plan, and see your favorite things first. The FastPass runs out early. By early afternoon, no rides have a FastPass. You must get those early in the day.

We didn’t go to Future World until 6 pm. We were less wowed by that area of the Park but thoroughly enjoyed the fireworks at 9 pm. Please note: in Future World, there are only two rides: one in Mexico and one in Norway. We enjoyed the boat ride in Mexico a lot, but were disappointed to find that the flume ride at Norway closes at 8 pm and we were too late to ride that attraction.

Prior to going to EPCOT, we spent a day at Kennedy Space Center (45 minutes east of Orlando) and thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly its museum, The Astronaut Hall of Fame. Do consider a side trip to this attraction. We enjoyed it as much as Epcot. Details about KSC will be in a separate review under Cape Canaveral.

“Not that good”
Reviewed June 25, 2007

My boyfriend and I visited this park in September 2005 and really didnt think much of it. It just appears to be so outdated and really, the rides were not that good. Soarin was ok but probably not worth the 2 hour que we waited in, then saying that neither was test track or Mission Space. The countries section of the park wasnt that good either. I'm going to Orlando again this year again but will not be visiting this Disney park. I expected more from Disney.

Overall, very dissapointed!!

Epcot is a wonderful place to visit. The best ride is soarin soget a fastpass before they run out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Soarin wait time is sometimes up to 2-3 hours in peak times. Epcot has other rides like figment, land, seas with nemo, spaceship earth, wonders of life ( sometimes open), universe of energy, mission space, and test track. They are all fun rides to go on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They also have countries in the back of park. From mexico to canada they have it all. They have a new ride Gran fiesta tour in mexico plus a nice sit down dinner at mexico. Norway has maelstrom and maybe the movie might opperate but maybe be closed. They have American adventure, A 30 minute show on Ben Franklin and Mark Twain between a show about AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally, at night fireworks lights up the sky for a wonderful show called ILLUMINATIONS. Stand anywhere around the lagoon for a great view. Also staff are nice and always want to help. Enjoy you're day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
