This was our first time staying at this moderate Disney Resort. It was very nice. We enjoyed the French Onion Soup at the restaurant. We also ate at Paddlefish restaurant at Disney Springs, we also ate at Shake Shack this visit as well as EPCOT's Germany's Buffet restaurant, which had a little bit of a show on for entertainment. We greatly enjoyed the theming that went into this moderate resort. The small refrigerator was big enough to hold the two gallons of iced tea we got at publix, as well as the Cake we also got from Publix.

We have stayed at all the moderate resorts at Disney and this is my favourite one! It is so beautiful here, and has a lot of charm.
Food: I must say Disney is getting better and better with healthy food choices.
Rooms: Clean, a good size, some beds were a bit soft, but at least they were queen beds!
Pools: many pools, quiet ones and ones with activities for the kids!
Boats ride to Disney spring: great going there as were are the first pick up. Coming back can be more busy, don't be afraid to take a the boat back to the French quarter if the riverside line is too long. It is a nice walk to riverside once you get dropped off at the French quarter.
Buses: same goes with the buses. One night leaving Hollywood Studios, there was such a long line to go back to Riverside, we took the bus back to the French quarter and then just walked over to Riverside. Otherwise we would have probably waited for at least 2 or 3 buses, and instead got on the next bus at French quarter.
All in all loved this resort and would go back to Riverside!

I took my 3 daughters who are 8, 10 & 12 for 5 nights on their spring break. We arrived at the resort around 2am and let's just say the Disney magic was not at home the resort is not very well lit and we were given wrong instructions on how to make the horribly long walk to our room in a dim lit area. I was not impressed with this resort it is not comparable to Saratoga springs. Bed was noisy. It was a great amount of money for no Disney experience.

My husband and I have stayed in a number of different Disney resorts, from value to deluxe villas. We like the adventure of staying in different accommodations each time. It makes every trip a unique experience for us. During our past Disney vacation, we decided to try Port Orleans-Riverside. It was a good choice for us because of the value, amenities, and the beautiful themeing.

Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. Our trip began with a quick stop at the front desk. We had done the pre checkin online before we arrived. This made our resort checkin very brief. Our magic bands were all ready to use as our room keys and we had been texted our room number before we had even gotten off our flight.

Room: We stayed in the Magnolia Bend section the the resort in a second floor King bed room in the actual Magnolia Building. Our room was a short walk from the main building and the bus stops. It was spacious and clean and the maid did an excellent job during our stay. The last time we stayed in a moderate resort (Coronado Springs), our room was very dimly let. I was very happy to find that this room was much brighter. We kept the blinds closed a lot of the time, but I never felt like there were a lot of people walking past. The bathroom looked like it was recently updated. It was clean and bright with white tile and good lighting.

Resort: This is a huge resort. My suggestion would be to look into a specific section that you would like to stay in and request it. There are 4 bus stops that go around the whole resort, so getting on a bus shouldn't be an issue. There are a few quiet pools scattered throughout the resort, in addition to the main pool at the center of the complex. When we saw how large the complex was, we called and requested the Magnolia building. It was a combination of our desire to stay in the plantation style rooms and proximity to the food court/bus stops. Even though we weren't guaranteed to get the area we asked for, we were happy to find that our request was honored.

Food: The Riverside Mill food court was decent. Typical Disney fare with a few southern choices thrown in. We also enjoyed a nice dinner at Boatwrights Dining Hall. It was quiet, calm meal. The food was decent- not particularly memorable, nor was it terrible. Our waitress was helpful and efficient.

Atmosphere: I've stayed at many moderate and deluxe Disney resorts. I think that the theming at Port Orleans- Riverside is one of my favorites. It has a calm, laid back feeling to it. I attribute that partially to its sprawling size.

Liked Best- Atmosphere and value
Liked Least- Size/length of time it took to get around

Room tip: Look at a resort map to check out the differently themed areas. Also, pay attention to bus stops and walkability.

Will stay here again! Front desk check- in was smooth and accommodating. Our room location was about a 5 minute walk to main lobby. We liked our location. Our room, # 9555 and located in bldg. 95, was on the first floor. Clean and the double sinks were especially helpful with 3 women in the room. It was also nice to have a curtain between the bathroom and sleeping area in order to dress in the mornings while others slept in.
