The grounds are beautiful, the staff is very accommodating & attentive, and the food court area was convenient - nice touch to grab snacks or a quick meal with tired kids. However, I will say that this was one of the smallest and most 'average' hotel rooms (more like a motel) that I have ever stayed in. If it had not been on Disney property or in one of the updated princess rooms with the light-up headboards, I would have been disappointed based on the price and my personal expectations. The main pool was nice and had entertainment - kids loved it. Overall nothing I would compare to a luxury vacation spot, but the kids loved it and we made many wonderful family memories.

stayed here during the summer for our family Disney Vacation. Flew in from Texas and took the Disney Express to the hotel. Our bags were taken to the room for us, but we dropped off our carry ons....as soon as we walked in WOW. the housekeepers left a mickey mouse design using towels on our bed, made the experience even more real. Just that gesture got the kids, and my husband and I, excited! The second day the housekeepers did it again, but put our kids stuffed animals inside, was SO SWEET!! Forgot to mention when we checked in we got the sweetest woman at the counter who made the kids feel special and gave the kids 1st Visit buttons and scolls for the girls to take to magic kingdom and promised to have a signed autograph of Mickey sent to our room....didn't expect that within 10 minutes of getting to our room that we got a knock on the door and it was an employee of the hotel. He said "Mickey wanted me to rush this over to you(the kids) as soon as possible, and he hopes to see you soon." what a wonderful gesture!! The landscaping is gorgeous, boat ride was fun, smores at night was a nice surprise, and restraurant was good. Overall, we will keep coming back, extremely family friendly, had the time of our life!

Room Tip: stay at alligator bayou, close to bus stop

I have to say out of all the moderate resorts at Disney this is my favorite. I love the location and the way everything is laid out. It is a beautiful resort and it doesn't feel like you are at a resort at all. Very romantic and great for families as well. Would highly recommend

This was a family holiday and we stayed in three rooms in the Alligator Bayou building (1800 block) which was quite close to the Dining Room and Main Reception area. The small pool by our rooms was never overcrowded or noisy. The transport system worked fine, especially the boat to Downtown Disney. Food was good, plenty of variety with great choice of salads, pastas and meat/veg dishes. Purchase the Dining Plan - it really is great value. We all had the "magic bands" which are fantastic and save a lot of hassle with not having to carry cards or money. The band gets you into the parks, pays for your food and gets you into your room.

We have stayed at Port Orleans Resort 3 times in total, it is a fantastic family or couples place to stay. The theming & feel of the whole resort is so beautiful, we love the outdoors feel, being able to walk along the riverside of the mansion section, watching the boats as they come into the dock.....*sigh* The Disney transport has always been excellent, having the boat to go to Downtown Disney is a real plus!
Both sections of the resort 'Mansion' & 'Aligator Bayou' are both beautiful in there own right, we have always gone in the autumn time, the fall colous are stunning, weather beautiful, without being to hot.
Boatwrights Dining hall is a experience in it's self! It can get very busy, but the food has always been very good, cinnamon rolls for breakfast are a must do....
An excellent all round resort.....cant wait to go back!

Room Tip: Some rooms are quite a walk from reception or the pool, dining hall ect...so it pays to do your home...

Stayed for 2 weeks with Disney dining QS. Room was clean and spacious for 4 of us, plenty of storage space . Room was cleaned daily and we had the occasional surprise left by mouse keeping! Food in hotel was good although very busy at times. Was great to be able to take the boat to downtown Disney. Wouldn't hesitate to go back

My wife and I recently stayed here for our honeymoon. We absolutely loved everything about it. We had a Garden View room, close to the main pool area. I'll go through each aspect of the hotel, and what we thought about it.

Checkin: Took a little while. They did have a "cast member" with us in line helping us plan what activities might be good for us to do throughout our vacation. Once we did start our check in process, the cast member was very helpful with telling us what we needed to know.

Room: Nice room with all ammendities you might need. Everthing is updated, so the decor was very appealing. Honestly, it's Disney, so we didn't spend much time in the room anyway.

Grounds: Absolutely prestine!!!! We loved walking through the resort. The amount of care Disney takes is impecable. It is an experience just walking through the resort. The Bayou music helps as well.

Pool: We spent a couple days at the main pool area. The pool never gets overcrowded, because most people are in the parks during the day. We loved every second of the pool. They had 3-4 lifegaurds roaming the area at all times as well. So it is definetly safe for families. The pool bar was great as well, especially for us honeymooners.

Food: The food was fantastic at the quick-service food court. We were on the food plan, which takes a couple days used to. We ate all of our breakfast there, and options are plentifull. We ate lunch here a couple times, during our pool days. Again very good, with penty of options. We never ate dinner there, but I am sure it would be just as good. We never did eat at the sit down restaurant (I believe it is called The Boat House).

Transportation: Disney transportation is a really nice perk to have when staying at one of their resorts. For the most part, it works very efficiently. This would be our only complaint about the Resort. After the parks closed, we were stuck in line waiting for the trasportation to our hotel for sometimes up to an hour. And we seemed to be the only resort with that issue. Reason being is because it is such a large and popular place.

Anyway, absolutely reccomend this place to anyone.
