This was a nice place to stay on Disney World property. We were upgraded to themed room at no additional cost. I do not think themed rooms are worth the extra expense had I had to purchase. Very accommodating. Biggest issue was our missed flight home do to Disney Magical Express bus picking us up late for trip to airport. Then they were no help backing us up when bus company blamed us

Can't say enough about the friendliness of staff and cleanliness of the room and property. The theme is well done resulting in a beautiful property. We stayed in the Magnolia Mansions area. The food service was great...especially try Boatwrights! the food court tends to be busy but the food is fine. Since we did not have small children we did not use the large pool...but highly reccomend the quieter pools next to the rooms, especially late at night. We have stayed at several disney resorts over the years... this is our favorite.

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside for 5 nights. Upon arrival we were given a room on the second floor. We noticed the steps (outside cement) were a little wet. When my husband and son left the following morning to go to the food court, my son fell down the stairs. My husband called the front desk and the housekeeping supervisor came to check on my son. We requested a room on the first floor and were moved that evening. A little disappointed that no one followed up except the supervisor a few days later. My husband did complain our son wasn't able to enjoy himself fully in the parks due to his pain and 2 huge bruises but the only thing that was done was to give us a card with a number to make a claim. Not the best customer service. Our stay was pretty uneventful after that. The updates were nice in the room but the new queen beds were not the most comfortable. The bedspread on our first bed had a large spill on it that had dried to a hard sticky mess. I would have called for a new one but we checked in very late and ended up changing rooms. Housekeeping was great and left us about 50 soaps and shampoos when we asked along with our daily tip. The buses are still aggravating and people still crowd on with no courtesy to those who have waited. I loved the pasta bar in the food court. A great deal for $10.99. The mugs weren't the best deal since juices and milk aren't offered and we usually only used them in the morning. We didn't want to have our kids drinking soda for breakfast. The pool was nice but we didn't realize there was no towel service until we had walked there and had to walk back to the room dripping wet. This was our second stay at POR and most likely will choose somewhere else next time for a change.

We stayed for 2 weeks, the food at the resort was nice but limited and although the Disney dining plan is recommended, breakfast was confusing and difficult as only limited meals were available as a breakfast. My daughter didn't like the sausages with her pancakes and syrup. The refil cups are a pain but ok if you are staying around the hotel. The rooms were clean and adequate but small. The location is fantastic, lovely by the river and poolside great, we were swimming at 10pm. The bar in the lobby had good entertainment, a funny old man singing, but that was it. We spent most nights in restaurants or downtown Disney or magic kingdom. Disney itself was great, the buses to the parks are regular but sometimes busy.

This is a moderate disney hotel. It is very central to everything. It is a really lovely hotel with lots of rooms and pools. The rooms are in little complexes surrounded by a pool which are very clean. They have a launderette by the pools which is very handy, you don't have to take so much clothes with you so you can buy loads while you are there. The reception area is really nice and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food at this hotel is excellent (the salads are to die for!). They have a boat where you can get to Downtown Disney or Epcot. You can hire boats yourself and travel up and down the river. They have horse drawn carts to take you for a ride along the river. You have free shuttle buses to all the Disney Parks. Definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 14 nights in Aug. The hotel is lovely, very pretty, quiet and spread-out making it seem less busy. The rooms I would say are small, There were 5 of us and with 2 doubles, a pull out and cot there wasn't really any room left. The room was always left clean, with coffee etc being restocked. The food was ok, I thought the choice was pretty good (we were on the dining plan) and the quality was good. The river is tranquil, we did a couple of trips on the boat. The swimming pools were great, we used the centre one and the one behind our hotel block (block 18). The staff are very friendly, the children’s colouring area and TV in the dining hall helped keep small ones entertained. I think for value for money this is a great choice for families. The buses take you the Disney Parks, there is a shop, the entertainment in the bar was very good. The bike hire was a hit with the children. I also like that they give you pool towels and they have lifeguards at the main pool. The only gripes I had were we didn't get any help with our bags to our room, we also had to move rooms as they wanted a 14 year old bout and 5 year old girl to share a bed. Our room was up a flight of stairs which with a pushchair isn't ideal. If you are looking for a safe, family friendly hotel this is one to consider.

We stayed at PORS again. Another fine stay. Perfect no, but less expensive option. Rooms are very nice. We love alligator bayou. Staff is very good. Great house keeping staff. We enjoyed the pools (particularly the smaller ones closer to your rooms) the fishing and boat rentals. Great time, and on par w/ expectations. The food court is fine. Food is good and reasonably priced. But, chaotic. Each station is manned by friendly but fairly incompetent folks (except the pasta station). They do a good job of cleaning the seating area and maintaining the drink island. The restaurant there is very good and enjoyed it several times. Too bad it isn't open more (lunch and breakfast). Breakfast is horrible. Both in food and service. The store is great, and we had numerous packages delivered there without incident in retrieval. The game room is well maintained. Only thing, we hated the DME and the bus service was poor at peak times. But that is how it is for all disney. We'll likely rent a car next time.

Pros: Good staff, good dining options, good staff, housekeeping. Nice rooms with great bathrooms.

Negatives: Beds are horrible, possibly designed by nazis. Bus service is questionable, especially the DME (disney magical express) and transpo to the parks during peak times. No covered smoking areas. Internet is horrible in the rooms . Not usable for business.

Room Tip: Horrible internet. But great tv package. Includes NFL network :)
