Let me start off by telling you a bit about myself, I go to Disney, A LOT. So I have stayed at many different Disney hotels. This particular Disney hotel was in the Moderate price range. Being in the Moderate price range means you can go cheap, but still get more of the Disney Magic than you would at the Value resort. Let's do the basics: The room was clean and nicely decorated, the staff was AMAZINGLY nice, the food was good (two food options, one was quick service cafeteria style, the other was a sit down place. The bar had food too, I think?) The maid started doing fun and clever things with our towels it was nice. It was a very nicely maintained property too. We did a lot of the activities they offered, we saw a movie under the stars, watched Bob preform in the bar (Fun, you should see it) rented bike etc. So the resort itself had a lot to do. Transportation. The bus system was good, I never had to wait very long, but sometimes when you just want to get home at the end of the day it was long. The boats to get to Downtown Disney also took a fair amont of time too. But this is to be expected at a Moderate resort, after all the more expensive, the closer to the park. The reason this does not get a 5 out of 5 was the room itself. Our Toliet wouldn't stop flushing and our bed creeked a bit. Neither one of these were HUGE problems because we weren't in the room the whole time. And after we called (twice) someone came to fix it. The walls were also thin. Not paper thin where you could hear every word, but thin enough where you would know something was going on. I would reccomend a prefered room, it's a few bucks more, but it gets you closer to the main building. All in all, if you want the full Disney Magic Cheap, a good option.

Room Tip: Get a prefered room, it's a few bucks more but it will put you closer to the main building and b...

I have been to Disneyworld 22 times, this is my first time I ever had an issue, when arriving on 11-10-11, we had 3 rooms in our party, 2 out of the, 3 were moldy , musty smelling, one room had hair in the tub, when reporting issue with front desk staff {Aimee} she could move us but not together, in another area, or we had to stay we were. we had 2 babies , and one adult that had major surgery on his lung, with severe resp issues..we needed to be near each other, which we had requested , not seperated, the room was moldy couldn.t stay there, after over talking to manager, my agent {Magical vavations } was able to get our rooms moved, next day, we arrived @ 10am we requested on booking, plus on arrivial for 2 pack n play , one in each room, after over 3 calls , then finally @ 9:30 pm after calling the Manger we received the pack n plays, nobody ever called to see if we ,were all set the next day, other area's were great, most of the staff , except for 2 at the front desk was great,

Just got back from our vacation. This was the first time that we ever stayed on a resort in Disney and would do it again and again! The rooms were always clean the resort was wonderful! We had family come from all other places and it was nice to have the pool, bar and restaurants for everyone to do something. Also the food was very good at Boatwrights. We had the meal plan and ate a lot of our sit down meals there. Would recommend this resort to anyone! GREAT TIME!!!

We were in Alligator Bayou, bldg. 15. They had started to gut and renovate the bldg next door - much needed. Our room was tired, with poor ventilation - generally clean, but just worn out. Main pool was nice. No internet in public areas - only in room for $10 a day. We had a car - If I were to return, I would stay at an off site hotel and pay the parking. Downtown Disney was not special. I am obviously not a "Disney" person.

Room Tip: Main pool is only heated pool and only hot tub.

I always thought staying at a Disney Hotel would be that little bit more special but to be honest it was just like most of the accommodation in Orlando you just get the Disney branding, the ease of being on site and the little extras such as the Magic hours where the park isn't open to non-residents. For what we paid to have a riverview apartment for a week we could have had a nicer apartment on International Drive. Having said that, with two small kids now I will stay at Disney again to make it more special for them.
The room was clean and comfortable but had no river view. I queried this and was essentially told that water had to be visible from the window and there was a small pond type area about 50 yards away that I could see if i stood on tiptoes on a chair lol. To be honest that is a minor gripe because I really couldnt care less about the view, but it seemed a slight con. Overall, it's worth staying in Disney for a few nights if you plan it for the days you're going to their parks. Then stay somewhere on Idrive, in Kissimee or LBV.

We have just had 2 wonderful weeks at Disney's P.O.R . We had previously read some bad reviews and were a little concerned but were put at ease the minute we arrived in the welcoming lobby area. The staff were very helpful and always available to answer our questions. The hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped(quite romantic).Although it was a good 10minute walk to our room we enjoyed being in Alligator Bayou building 24 as we had a lovely quiet heated swimming pool right by us.(The main pool gets very busy). The Mousekeeping staff were all lovely and very thorough. The in room fridge was very handy as also the coffee maker. The food hall although nearly always busy had enough choice for the times that we ate there. We hardly waited more than 10mins for a bus to any of the parks from the West side Depot.Port Orleans offers various entertainment schedules for families with children who want to relax away from the parks for a while. We have previously stayed at Pop Century and loved it but now would choose Port Orleans Riverside for it's more laid back atmosphere.

We recently returned for POR and had a wonderful time! When we arrived at 9 am. We were allowed to check in to building 37 which had just opened the day before due to refurbishment. We essentially had a brand new room!
It was very well put together but a murphy bed that folded down so that 5 people could sleep in the room. Very, very nice room! It was 2nd floor and a corner room so the extra window made it seem larger :).
We always used the North Depot and the bus wait time was minimal. I did notice the South depot was always busy and packed! This was Thanksgiving week so there were always plenty of buses.
Food court nice and overall nice general store.

My only complaint was that building 37 made us feel like we were out in the boondocks :).
I recommend this resort to ALL!

Room Tip: Tip- request a refurbished room!
