Wow! We have stayed on Disney property many times, but this hotel really needs to updated. They still have the BIG old T.V's in the rooms. I guess it;s true what the say, you get what you pay for. Also, if anyone from Disney reads these things, just wondering when they might jump into the 21st century and get WFII in all the rooms for free. It's a shame you can go stay at a Holiday Inn for a lot less and get it for nothing. All that a side, the resort is spread out and like I said, the rooms really need an update.

I really liked this hotel. This was my first disney vacation. The room was fine, and had enough room for my husband, his scooter, two daughters, and myself. You don't really spend that much time in the room, anyway. The staff was helpful and very nice.

Room Tip: If you want peace and quiet, ask for a room with a water view.

Port Orleans is a beautiful, peaceful, and fabulous resort. It was out first time on Disney property and it exceeded our expectations. We were in building 27...about a 5 minute walk to the main lobby. I would not want to be any farther though (in the back by the west depot area). It was a short walk to the bus depot and we rarely waited more than 5-7 minutes for a bus. The buses were not crowded this time of year either. The bus drivers were fabulous. Check in was quick and all the cast members were great. The girls in the general store were super helpful and the life guards at the main pool were great. Our kids (age 5 and 8) loved the pool and the big water wheel. They enjoyed looking for squirrels and lizards and running along the dock area every morning. What a fabulous setting.
The room was good, the maid service was good, and the grounds, buses, pools and customer service were GREAT! If you are thinking about staying here, I highly recommend it, especially the Alligator Bayou area. We will be back.

Room Tip: Alligator Bayou - buildings 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 27 are good locations. Pick a ground floor.

Stayed over in the French Quarter, but was over in Riverside some. It was really spread out which I did not like. The boat that goes between Riverside, French Quarter and Downtown Disney moves really slow. Also, the hotel did not have much of a Disney feel which I didn't like.

My mom and I stayed at this hotel this past summer (end of July, first week of August) for nine nights. We stayed here a couple of years ago and fell in love with the place. The atmosphere, landscaping and attention to detail at this hotel is so nice. You can really feel the old southern charm. We arrived mid day and check-in wasn’t crowded. The person that checked us in was either having a bad day or didn’t like her job because she wasn’t nice to us and didn’t provide that Disney charm we were accustomed to. But it didn’t last. After checking in and purchasing our park passes, a wonderful gentleman wisked us over to our room in a cart. His cheerful personality made up for the reception we had at the front desk. Our room was in a great location (Oak Manor) close to the food court/store, bus stops, main pool and quiet pool and was on the first floor. All our room request were met. The rooms are a little older looking and décor could definitely use an update but overall the rooms are nice. The fridge is especially great for water, milk and snacks. The beds are super comfy. The air conditioning seems strange and we could never could get a good temperature in the room. The double sinks separate from the bathroom are great. The food court is great. Lots of choices and good hours, although if you eat here frequently you will get tired of the menu. We also went over to Port Orleans French Quarter and ate over there a couple times. Atmosphere at this hotel is quiet and relaxing. Even though you know there are lots of people, it never sounds or looks like it. The bus waits were not bad and the covered waiting area was great. The store is large and has a lot of merchandise. One of the great things about this hotel is the boat to Downtown Disney – however if it’s raining or chance of thunder storms the boat will not run. Overall this hotel is charming, relaxing and beautiful and a good deal for the price paid. You’ll feel like you never leave the magic!

We are a family of four with two children aged 7 and 4 - we all loved this hotel. We stayed in the Arcadia rooms which had just been refurbished , they were spacious and clean.
The grounds to the hotel and the pools were fantastic as is the location to the disney parks.
Lots of things going on for children throughout the day for when you want time away from the parks.
The food court we did find a bit limited especially for children, but not really a problem as there are so many places to eat at the parks or get the boat to down town disney for more choice.
We had the quick service dining plan and thought it was great.

Buses were always frequent and easy to use from this resort.

Overall I would highly recommend this hotel - we will be definitely staying again in the future.

Room Tip: we didn't request a room but were put in arcadia house - newly refurbished - two pools within tw...
