it was the third time ive stayed there in 3 years.there must be a reason i keep going back. we have such a great time there every time.i love the distance from the park.easy drive to international drive to go to diffrent places to eat and shop. the only complaint i have year after year is why they charge so much to park your vehicle..they charged me 210.00 a night and then wanted 28 dollars to park on top of that per day..come on hard rock work with me...

We've now stayed at all three Universal hotels and we have to say this is our favourite. From the moment we arrived until the day we left we have only high praise for all members of staff. The hotel itself was amazing. Very impressive lobby and very pleasant and efficient front desk. Our rooms (3) were very impressive - large extremely comfortable beds with great view of the pool and the rides of the park beyond. A nice touch was two sink areas - one closed in with the bath/shower. Excellent pool and sunbathing area. The Kitchen was very enjoyable with great food and equally great server (David - very tall very talkative and great people skills). On Friday at 4pm they have a tasting in the main lobby of one of the offerings in the Kitchen so you can "try before you buy" - what a nice treat, we had one of the nicest Mac & Cheese ever! We hope that we'll be back next year.

There are just 3 reasons to stay here and the rest (as they say) is just icing on the cake!

1) Walking, water taxi distance from the Universal parks: walk there in the morning and ride the water taxi at the end of your day!

2) Early entrance: one hour before the general public admission! We walked onto the Harry Potter ride 3X before 9AM.

3) Express pass to all the other rides except Rip Ride Rocket? (can't remember the exact name cuz it wuz out of service all week) but you get the point... NO LINES whatsoever!

Those 3 reasons ALONE justify whatever price you are paying! Especially with kids!!

We were there last week (courtesy of Cobb County school system) and now that my kids are old enough to enjoy the BIG rides, will never stay anywhere else. They enjoyed the awesome pool and waterslide just as much as the parks.

The only caveat I have to offer: Decide how much time you will be spending in your room before you go! I knew with 4 kids that sleep was not a priority! Therefore, when they gave us the deluxe queen on 1st floor (largest room, closest to the pool and parks) I would not complain, even though it was across the hall from the ice machine!!! The kids DON"T CARE---I PROMISE!! In fact, I took a large cooler (with wheels) into the hotel so that we had unlimited water bottles, juice, snacks, milk for cereal in the AM, etc.!! and we could replenish the ice ANYTIME!!! Be aware though, that the doggies/pets are also on the 1st floor (apparently) but we were up so early in the AM and went to bed 11-ish so it didn't bother us AT ALL! We ate at City Walk a few nights (highly rec. NBA City and Margaritaville) so can't speak to all of the restaurants on site. The Beach Club was great food and Taylor was the BEST! I was a waitress in college and these people WORK HARD!!! One night we orderred pizza from room service and my kids (who know pizza) said it was the BEST pizza they ever had!

Finally, every single time we called the STAR line to ask for something (more towels, razor, etc.) they came in an INSTANT. Best service EVAHHH! Front desk was awesome... we arrived at about 5pm and the room wasn't quite ready so she gave us 5 free drink coupons and let me tell you, that was worth $40?? Parking... just factor it into your room charge and self-park. You don't need your car!!

We have previous;y stayed at the Marriott Grand Lakes(?) Animal Kingdom Lodge, Polynesian and several condos, but this is THE BOMB!

We had previously stayed on the Club Level (7th Floor) and had a great experience so we were really excited to go back. The club level offers breakfast, afternoon snacks and cookies and milk for every day.

We stayed for 5 nights in September and had a less than satisfactory experience this time. We stayed on the Club Level and we were not impressed with the qualify of the club level service. Breakfast and evening activities were overcrowded and numerous guests that did not belong in the room were eating and drinking for free. I know that this is the case because I spoke to a couple in the elevator who followed me in and said they were not on the 7th floor and wanted to see how to get up to the level for the service. They showed up for several activities. Also one night we showed up at 9:05 for cookies and milk and there were only four cookies with nuts left! They did not even have any more cookies when service was supposed to be completed at 9:30.

Also two nights, turn down service had not been completed by 9:15. The maids said that they have until 10 pm to finish the floor. We have two children and that is too late to have maid service coming into your room when you are trying to get children to sleep.

It was very disappointing that we paid for a "club level" room but we did not get any special treatment and those that did not pay were enjoying the same service for free!

This was our second trip to the Hard Rock Orlando & if possible it was even better than the first. The hotel itself is stunning, immaculate & contains something for everyone - young & old, the music piping throughout all common areas adds a modern yet unintrusive touch.
The staff could not have been more accomadating & friendly, from the bar staff to the cleaners passing in the corridors at all times of the day. Checking in & out was particularly straight forward, as was getting taxis from the front of the hotel. The rooms were cleans, spacious & comfortable.
The location in relation to the parks & City Walk along with the free express passes are undoubtable perks to staying here & add to the already incredible holiday experience.

Our flight on Southwest was the best part of our trip! When we got to Orlando Airport it took two hours for Mears Transportation to pick us up- AND that's with a RESERVATION based on our Arrival time which was early!! If you book a Mears Shuttle (which was recommended by the hotel (can anyone say greased palms)- be sure to look at what time you get to the shuttle stand. Make sure they write the correct time on your ticket. They pushed our time up 10 minutes and then we had to wait another 1.5 hours for another shuttle-when there were two there when we arrived.
Don't stay at any of the Lowe's hotels at Universal Orlando unless you plan to take advantage of the Express admission and the early admission to the park for the Harry Potter Ride. You are just paying about $60 more per nite to be treated like dirt if you aren't a celeb or here with a special group that means moolaa to the hotel.
The concierge supposedly booked a special dinner reservation for us at a dinner theatre and made a special point to tell us we had to pre-pay and it was non-refundable.
When we asked if we needed to come down especially early for a cab she assured us there were always cabs out front.
So our big nite arrives and guess what. First, no cabs. Then this loud mouth jerk yells that he needs a cab and presto-One suddenly appears and they usher him into it - even though we were here first.
So about 20 minutes later a cab shows up and the driver is complaining because there is a parade of cabs headed to Hard Rock - "all for you" he says in his middle eastern accent.
We go to the window - still relatively calm - with 20 minutes to spare before the show starts and guess what--they have no record of our reservation or payment!! So we call Hard Rock and they talk to the consierge desk and our reservation miraculously appears- however our last name is misspelled and there are two dinner shows- which the people at Hard Rock didn't bother to tell us- so we had no idea what we were looking for. Fortunately OUR show didn't start til 8pm instead of 7:30 so we finally got to go in.
After the show- of course no cab- so we call Hard Rock and the girl that answers sounds totally clueless when I ask her if she can help us get a cab back to the hotel- she connects me to the Cab company line.
I wouldn't stay at a Hard Rock Hotel property again if they paid ME!
This place doesn't know the meaning of customer service - at least for regular folks.

This is my first tripadvisor review.

I've gone to Orlando many times, but we'd never stayed on Universal property. We hit some of the moderate and values at WDW, and usually stay in a Hampton or similar.

This hotel was awesome. We got a great deal right after the free Superbowl tickets were announced. So good, that even though our plans changed, it was cheaper to eat our first night at the Hard Rock than redo the ressie (It was aroudn $160 a night). It took them a while to find the ressie, since we were there a day late, but I had called ahead.

The lobby is very opulant, and the music isn't intrusive, which seems to concern a lot of folks.

The room was great. Clean, pretty big, and it had a sofa for our son to sleep on. It was also my first exposure to Keurig coffee makers, and led me to buy one a few months later. The best in-room coffee I've ever had.

We shoved a few things into the mini-bar, which was against the rules, but oh well. the beds were very comfy, and the theme was great in general. We would laugh everytime we passed the N-Sync outfits in the Hard Rock Hotel.

The pool is very large, with a great, long slide. Walk to the Studios park is only about 5 minutes. It would be about 1 if you could walk out the back of the pool area.

There isn't much of an arcade, food options, or convenience store like the Disney resorts have with their food courts.

Our only compliant was how the people that unload your bags just take them about 20 feet to bell services, who then deliver them to your room. So, you have two people to tip. Parking is another negative, you just have to figure it in to the room price for comparing.
