I honestly don't know how anyone can say one bad thing about this hotel. I don’t think the hotel was near capacity when we were there, as it was the week before. We (my husband, 12 year old son and I) stayed in a King Suite. The room was perfect. There was turndown service each evening where they left complimentary water for you. Room supplies were fine (towels, robes, toiletries, etc.). Of course the mini bar is expensive. It’s expensive any where you go. The pool area is fantastic. Nice warm water. One strange thing was there was a mommy duck and ducklings swimming in the pool a couple of times. (?) There is waiter service at your pool seat, including food. The pool bar, towel hut and ice cream shack stayed open until 11:00 every night. There were (at least) four restaurants on the property. Our favorite was the sushi bar in the main lobby. Main lobby – again – very beautiful and peaceful. There was a pleasant 10 min. walk to the parks. Water taxi rides also available but some time a wait. If you don’t mind the walk, it will usually get you there faster. I could go on and on about how great this place is. If I had to come up with anything negative at all to say, it would be that the pull out couch mattress did not look very comfortable. It was ok for my son, but a full size adult may not have liked it. I’ve also been to the Hard Rock Hotel and can’t wait to try the Lowe’s Portofino Bay next time we visit Orlando.

Great location and you don't need a car if you're only planning to 'do' Universal, IOA and City Walks. We found hotel an oasis away from the madding crowds! It's really close to the stylish Millenia Mall, the Florida Mall, and the Prime Shopping Outlets..

We booked in for thirteen days and then were stranded here for another eight! There are much worse places to be stranded and the hotel and it's staff couldn't do enough for us! We paid $219 for a King Suite which they extended at the same rate even though the going rate was $364. They provided us with a fridge at no charge (to help us keep our costs down), and the concierge was great in helping us liaise with the airlines.

We do recognise some of the comments made by others about bathrooms, the safe being small, and car park charges, but overall we have been highly satisfied with what we would consider a 4* hotel (we've stayed at the Swan and Dolphin in the past and on balance prefer this hotel).

Front desk was helpful and concierge is brilliant at providing maps and printed directions to all sorts of places including tennis courts - just a few minutes drive away. Waiting staff are great - very helpful and friendly - but watch out for theBula Bar, 18% is added to checks - most staff tell you but not all! Rooms are clean and comfortable, the sofa bed's not great for a 6' 17 year old, but housekeeping were happy to add a mattress top to make it more comfortable. Prices, as you'd expect in a hotel such as this, are steep - but not as bad as in London or NY - and we found that pool side lunches and meals in Jakes were great for casual dining often choosing to share things such as Nachos and main courses which meant that final checks were ok. The Orchid bar is a really lovely place to relax in the evening for drinks and cocktails.

In terms of the short haired lady working in Jakes and around the pool - we spotted her! She is so friendly and works so hard that we intend to leave a commendation with the manager when we leave.

Using your room key as an Express Pass to skip the queing lines at the theme parks has been excellent saving so much time. With the combination of this 'express pass' and the hotel being within walking distance of the theme parks, it has given us more time to do other activities or chill by the pool!

We still have 5 days left due to the Volcanoe eruption, but so far we've had a great holiday and would be happy to return next year!

Exceptional hotel staff. Clean rooms. Beautiful pool.
Nice walk to the parks...and the hotel key fast pass is worth it's weight in gold. Because you do not have to wait long for the rides, you can go to the parks and also enjoy the resort and pool later. The key will also get you into the Universal Restaurants faster...Margaritaville Volcano Nachos are a must!Relaxing trip..and will definitely be going back!

decided to book 2 nights here as treat whilst on 2 week orlando vacation given fast pass access and long Q's in parks over easter period. For a 4 star hotel at $249 plus tax plus $15 parking per night excluding breakfast or wifi you need to be keen on Universal to book!! Once we got over shock of cost, we enjoyed stay. We arrived at 9:15am looking for our room key to allow us fast pass access to the park and to our surprise was given access to our room at this time. Rooms were 2 queen beds with good up to date decor and kit. We were given a garden view which had views to the park getting the kids quite excited. Apart from park access, the hotel has good facilities expected of a 4 star hotel. The swimming pool was great: not too deep for the younger kids with table tennis and pool tables by the pool. 3 days fast pass access over the 2 night stay almost made up for the cost of what is fundamentally a 4 star hotel, however free parking would be at least something the hotel should consider.

Title line sums it up. Universal is not at all what it used to be, but boy-does the Royal Pacific make up for alot of what can & did go wrong. These dear ladies & gentlemen Really do know the meaning of "going above & beyond the call.." The property is Absolutely beautiful; there just isn't enough time but to sample the amenities and breathtaking property, and In spite of all the things that went wrong with reservation (& their was plenty, i.e rollaway beds terrible, water left u feeling slippery), to name a few, ..They certainly went out of their way to please, feed & compensate for the things that were lacking, namely space & kid friendly room. We went @ very beginning of peak season, so some things were to be expected. Universal / Islands was at the end of our Orlando family trist; and we would definitely recommend & return, but not with kids. The food & service here made up for the rip-off Universal's idea of a "Meal-Deal" were. Please do buy pass that part of their offer. You're better off going it on your own, but...Wesley, Sam, Enriquetta & everyone else who took such superb care of us-thank u is not enough and we genuinely look forward to seeing you all again soon! :-)

The check in time was not honored.Waiting past 4:00pm is unacceptable. Had to wait 1 1/2 hours past check in time for a room. The room did not have hot water 95% of the time. The entire hotel was hot inside, including rooms because air conditioner functioning was below par. A lamp was broken so light was minimal. There was no fridge or microwave. They charge $15 a day for a fridge. Even less expensive hotels have these. My friend needed an ice pack frozen for her child and the front desk would not do it. They said they would have to charge "freezer space". I had to search for waitstaff to take an order at poolside and inside the lounge area. Uneaten food and dishes were left on poolside tables for hours. It was very untidy and the hotel staff was very unfriendly. I will never go back.
