We just got back from our week's vacation at the Royal Pacific Resort. It is a Loew's hotel, along with the Portofino and the Hard Rock. We visited both of these other hotels during our stay and were very glad that we had chosen the Royal Pacific. Not that all of the bells and whistles at the other hotels didn't make us think twice at first! But after spending a night at each for dinner, we concurred that we had made a good choice in the Royal Pacific. Here are a few tips: the Club Quarters are worth every penny. Our kids are 6 and 9. Cereal, bagels, warm pastries, etc. every morning, afternoon snacks (chips, fruit, soda), a sort of happy hour thing (veggies and dip, pasta salads, small sandwich wraps, crackers and cheese) and free beer and wine also. Dessert is served also at the close of the evening (cakes and pies, cookies). Because the rooms are a bit smaller than other hotels, we spent time in the club quarters lounge almost every night. There are two t.v.'s and some games and toys for the kids.

The views stink from this hotel. ASK for a pool view, unless you don't mind looking at the interstate. The pool is very nice. The hotel was holding a convention for BEST BUY on our last day's stay. Suddenly, the hotel was sold out! Big disappointment to us because we were really enjoying the peace and quiet. Because this is a convention hotel, next time I will ask ahead of time if any are taking place (although Hard Rock was also sold out due to the BEST BUY people also). The room was nice...VERY clean. But I hated the sheets! Starched and rough. Ick.

Anyway, we found our stay to be very pleasant. Most of the staff were excellent. And we enjoyed Universal and especially Seaworld. But it's definitely not Disney. Disney resorts rate a little higher, I think.

All in all, we liked the Royal Pacific and would probably stay again.

This was the nicest hotel I ever stayed at in my life. I was weary of staying here, because it is really expensive, but we wanted to be close to the park and to use the express pass. I found a great rate through AAA. It always helps to do your research!!!!! The express passes in Universal Orlando made it worth it.

The room was beautiful, we were on the 3rd floor in Tower 2 with a great view of the lagoon. It was like a tropical paradise. The pool was beautiful and the hot tubs relaxing.

My only complaints were that the pool closed too early and didn't allow for night swimming and the pool bar closed really early. There is nothing like sipping a pina colada poolside. Also, the restaurants were expensive and weren't very vegetarian friendly. We walked over to CityWalk for our meals and found very affordable options.

We walked over to the Hard Rock and Portofino and I thought the Royal Pacific was much nicer than Hard Rock. Portofino was very nice, but I couldn't afford it.

I want to move to this resort and live there full time. That is how much I liked it.

What an introduction to our first stay in Orlando. The Royal Pacific is a fabulous hotel, you get the South Sea atmosphere from the moment you step out of your car. The staff are very attentive and friendly and the whole ambience of the hotel is tranquil and relaxing, set in a 1930s time warp. The decor is lovely, with great attention to south sea detail. Our room over looked the pool and lake and was certainly big enough. The food in the restaurants was excellent and both bars have a good atmosphere.

We chose Universal because we are adult theme park enthusiasts and also wanted somewhere to entertain us in the evening and City Walk was great. The Express ticket was certainly worth it, however, being Brits, we were a little worried about queue jumping at first, but we soon got over it! The water taxi to the attractions was a bonus. We left for the Gulf Coast, the day before Hurricane Jeanne hit and were appreciative of the sensible advice given to us by the hotel staff. We would certainly stay at the Royal Pacific again and would encourage others to do so.

We have been to Orlando twice and both times have stayed at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort. It is an amazing hotel. We absolutely love it. We also love the option of taking the water taxi or walking along the beautiful walkway to the themeparks. We cannot say enough nice things about it. The staff is friendly and helpful. They even welcome pets !! We can't wait to go back and stay at the Royal Pacific. Loews other hotels are also great, even the Philadelphia one.
The rooms are clean, it has great ambiance. The pool and beach area are fabulous too. Just an amazing place to stay.

We stayed for the first time at Universal last May at the Royal Pacific and I am SOLD on these hotels! (we are WDW people, btw)

The room was ready at 9am, and overlooked the pool area. It is beautifully decorated, and very much a deluxe hotel. The bath products are GREAT, and the room was spacious.

THe pool area is tranquil and beautiful. I was able to take a nap on a chair peacefully even though many families were enjoying their afternoons as well. There is enough room to spread out, even under palm trees if you don't want the sun. The bar was always busy, as well, though we did not use it.

The FOTL access at the parks is incredible, and the ferry to the parks was always consistent, friendly, and relaxing. The themeing is wonderful, with the boats even having diff music depending upon which hotel you were returning to.

We took advantage of the valet as well, and they were always prompt and friendly each time.

We will def stay here again!

We stayed at RPR from 8/20-8/24 and loved it.The decor and overall ambiance was very nice. The staff was very helpful. We read the complaining reviews about room size and never considered it a factor since we were there to enjoy the parks etc..the room was fine.
The water taxi's are a nice feature and the walk to the parks is nice also.
Like everyone else says ,the express pass is truly a great perk.We never waited longer than 15 minutes to get on a ride while the regular wait was over an hour for some.
We didnt try the hotel dining except for the continental breakfast, which was great.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, and probably will.
