“Very convenient for park visit”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

As an annual ticket holder we got a very good rate for an off season 3 night stay at the Royal Pacific. Considering the value of the Express Pass each day and the early entry to the park (we were finally able to see Harry Potter without a huge crowd) and the convenience of transportation to the park & City Walk and not having to pay for parking, the hotel was an excellent value. That being said, the room was very small and had it been anywhere else and not included these extras it was not a "luxury" room in any way. In fact we had an issue with the bedding on 1 of the 2 beds in our room - the comforter on the bed was so gross and falling apart I couldn't believe a hotel of this level would dare put it out for use because it was in such bad shape I would have been embarrassed to donate it. Staff was all very pleasant and friendly and food in the restaurants we tried was good but expensive. Would not pay $300 a night here but if you can get a good rate it is definitely worth it for the express pass.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel, the best part for us was the short walk to the water taxi that takes you straight to universal studios or islands of adventure. Unlike Disney where even staying at a Disney hotel you still have a half hour drive by bus to any of the theme parks. This was a breeze. Also the fast passes that come with staying at a universal studios hotel was worth every penny! The parks were very very crowded but we had hardly any wait at all because of the fast passes. The room was very nice, the hotel is beautiful! The restaurants were excellent. We would stay again.

Great for park hopping. Lots of professional little touches.
Little bottles of ketchup at all the restaurants.
Services are amazing.
People will do anything for you.
Ferrys are fun.
Second day in, come back to room and valet left chocolate milk on ice with fresh chocolate chip cookies for the kids to thank us. Very sweet. Thanks for great service Christian.
All in all a great stay. Thanks guys.

Room Tip: tower 3 close to it all.

We started our trip off with great service from the Valet - Christian who made us feel right at home and gave us the lay of the land.
Then it was kids eat free for us, so cheaper dinner.
Room was great - thermostat in bedroom and living room so could optimally control temp.
Ferry service was reliable to parks and great.
Pools beautiful.
We did luau - very nice and onsite.
Breakfast - we had server Nora Vera and she was so sweet to our children.
She made it a very nice for us and was a pleasure to see.

Room Tip: We like tower 3 bcause we were close to pool and ferry.

We were 5 (3 children 12,10 and 8) and able to use one hotel room. Staff is great and helpful. The fastpass you get with the reservation makes it worth it. The pool was also relaxing. We will be returning if ever in Orlando again.

Room Tip: Choose room with pool view.

Just checked out yesterday and I must say that I was quite disappointed with the Loews Royal Pacific.

My husband and I called the resort the morning we checked in saying that we were going to be a late check-in due to our flight arrival time and were told that they would not give up our king room that we had booked. Upon arrival we were told that there were no more king size rooms...big bummer since we were celebrating our Honeymoon and had two queen beds. We were told that we could move the next day, but who wants to waste the time to pack back up and waste a beautiful day where we could be out in the parks? We declined the offer to switch rooms and were given a complimentary buffet breakfast one morning. I should have declined this offer and asked for complimentary parking instead since my husband and I are not big breakfast eaters but I must say it was delicious!

The room was quite spacious compared to other hotels I've stayed at. Please note that the walls here are extremely thin. If anyone was walking by we could hear them. Housekeeping in the morning was also very loud. So if you are a light sleeper you might have trouble. There was no refrigerator, no complimentary WI-FI, and you have to pay $18 + tax for parking. I don't know about you but if I'm spending over $200 per night these are things that should be included. Universal Orlando properties should take note that these are all things that Disney Resorts include and don't nickel and dime you for. Disney also includes your round trip transportation from the airport.

The pool was just average. It was a decent size with plenty of chairs but seemed rather crowded. There were also lots of ducks swimming in the pool which was pretty disgusting! There was a small water area for the children but no water slide and no hot tub.

Really, the main reason of traveling to this resort was for the Express Pass. During busy times this would have been extremely useful as the lines tend to be long. However, since we were traveling during an off peak time the lines weren't that long for many rides. I feel like we over paid for what we got. I think we could have had a much better and less expensive experience if we were to stay in a nearby hotel.

Unfortunately, this will be the last time visiting Universal Orlando. I will stick with a Disney World vacation from now on.

Struggled to find a title that would describe all of this hotel and nice enough was all I could come up with. We travel to Orlando twice a year and always stay on a Deluxe Disney Property, decided to try Universal Studios this time. Let me start by saying US is not Disney. At a Disney property they make it their mission to make your dreams come true, at US, I felt their mission was to make it "good enough". The pluses -location, a 5-8 minutes walk along a winding path following the waterway to the parks or a scenic boat ride. Pool is nice with poolside service. Lobby is beautiful with dining options from breakfast ( continental style) to Sushi . A Kiosk is offered to purchase tickets, and print express passes to parks. Luau offered on Saturday nights with a buffet and entertainment. Rooms were clean, with no refrig or microwave-although a mini bar and Keurig coffee maker available. The cons- walls and doors extremely thin. You can hear everything from your neighbors to the noise from the parks. The cleaning staff start early and bang doors and shout to each other in the halls. No sleeping in here. Food at the hotel is average at best and expensive, service is horrible! Once waited 15 minutes while the waiter finished his shift at the restaurant next door, to get waited on! At check in no information was given about our stay, and at check out I was never asked" how was your stay." If they did bother to inquire I would have had to say "good enough"....

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the parks.
