“Great for the price!”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

This hotel is very nice and compares to the other moderate disney hotel we have stayed at (Caribbean Beach). I think it is however slightly nicer than the Caribbean Beach. Please do not be scared by some of the bad reviews on this site because I believe these people want a 5 star resort for a 3 star price. It is like everything else in life you get what you pay for. Some of our group stayed at the Dolphin for a business conference and while the Dolphin hotel is nicer the rates and meals were double the cost of our hotel. Not only are the fancy hotels more to stay at but everything else costs more as well. If the weather is nice enough to take advantage of the pool at Coronado Springs you should spend an afternoon there. This was a major plus for this property, our daughter loved the slide!

Positives:
-Very clean and easy to navigate.
-Large heated pool with a very large water slide.
-Great bus service, we did not wait over 10 minutes the entire trip.
-Check in was easy and fast!
-Close to everything except Downtown Disney.
-Food was good but it was not as easy or quick to eat breakfast in the morning. They have a modified buffet which works ok but I like the cafeteria style better at Caribbean Beach.
-There is a nice lounge with enough bartenders at night to serve the business and disney crowd.

Negatives:
-Large property, would not reccomend for the elderly.
-Small snack shop. This area needs to be larger it gets very crowded because this is where you fill the refillable mugs. The snack area was the only option to grab something fast and run to the parks. There were not very many options in the snack bar and this was the biggest negative in my opinion. Way undersized for the number of rooms at the hotel.

All in all I would stay at this resort again; however if you plan to eat on the resort a lot it may not be the best place for you. It was fine for us because we grabbed breakfast from the makeshift buffet (which was very good food) and ran to the parks. I will say it again you get what you pay for and this lived up to the bill.

Beautiful lobby, nice room and comfortable beds, well landscape ground. Very convenient to all Disney Theme Parks with complimentary shuttle services. Only 1 complaint on parking and elevator location. We were asked to drive to our building Casita 1. We parked near the main entrance of Casita 1 but there was no sign of any elevator. The room was on 2nd floor way over one side of building. No signs on the ground to show room locations so as to park near the correct entrance. The elevators were located inside the center courtyard with no signs near the parking area showing there were elevators available.
I expect more from Disney then this lack of thoughtfulness in details.

Room Tip: ask for lake facing rooms

The hotel is lovely. Rooms are clean and a good size for the price. The hotel is huge, even with several bus stops, be ready to walk after a long day at the parks. Saying this, of course, in a value hotel, you would walk more to bus and rooms. The maya grill had good food and maybe the best service of all we eat it. I am allergies and a special diet which they took care of without blinking their eyes. The quick service could be better for those trying to eat healthy. Overall a nice stay and would certainly stay there again.

Stay 2/1 - 2-3
Building: Casitas 4
Room: 4110

We have been staying at all the Value Resorts in the past 2 years and this time we thought of going back to a Moderrate we went to about 10 years ago. No suprise that the place is still amazing!

First lets talk about the "walk" that everyone on here mentions. YES the resort is big. But i will tell you that from Casitas 4 to the front of the building....it was no more then 5min walk. I actually cut thru buildings "Casitas 1,2, and 3" and it was about a min faster. Plus you walk thru fountains and beautiful gardens. Its really not a big deal.

We did online check in which is great. YOu arrive and everything is ready for you. Since we were celebrating a Birthday, the girl looked and upgraded our room to a KING bed. That was super nice. Online check in...saves you alot of time. I would suggest it.

They put us in Casitas 4 which was great because the closes bus stop for the Disney transportation was stop #2. Stop#2 is actually the first stop for the buses. So in the morning, the buses are empty and you can secure a seat. The last stop is Stop#1 which is at the front of the building. So make sure you ask to stay near Bus Stop#2, you will thank me!!!

ROOM: The room was great. Larger then the Value resorts. Our room is just like what you see in the pictures posted here. Beautiful woods and super clean. We were on the first floor, but never heard any loud noises from outside. My only complaint is that the room was behind a staircase and no sunline ever shined thru the window. ALSO we had no cell phone signal. We would have to open and walk out to the hallway....past the staircase to get a signal. It was weird...but no big deal. WIFI did work perfect with our ipad.

FOOD: first night we had dinner at Maya Grill. It was amazing. (see my review on that)
We wanted to have breakfast at Pepper Market at 8:AM and it was PACKED. The line was to long. So we went to Rix Cafe which is a quick food type place. They had Ham,egg, and cheese crossaints and donuts. Along with all kinds of coffees and drinks. We picked up and took it to the room which was perfect ideal...and quick.
Second day we did pick up lunch at Pepper Market. (see my review on that)

RIX LOUNGE:
No we didnt go to it, but i assume being a convention resort...its good to have adult options.

GIFT SHOP:
Has a nice selections of gifts and some to go with the theme of the hotel.

POOL:
Casitas #4 had a quiet pool right outside the door. It was nice and simple. We did not use it since it was cold (at least for us Floridians)
We walked to the main pool "the Dig" and it is super nice. Its also LARGE! There were also vollyball place and 2 hot tubs to enjoy. Really nice.

OVERALL:
I totally love this place. It looks as good as it did 10 years ago. The employess are friendly and very helpful. Disney Buses ran every 15-20 min and we never had an issue on our wait. Especilaly that stop#2 was the frist stop....that means in the morning we had all the seats available to us. and in the evening it was great to be the first ones dropped off. There are 4 stops in the resort.
I would return and i hope to real soon.

Room Tip: Casitas 2,3, and 4 all share bus stop#2 which is the first stop out of 4 the bus makes. Stay here an...

My husband spend at least a week in Disney every year. For the past 4 years we stay at the Coronado Springs Resort. We have made friends with other travelers and with some of the staff. Seeing Paulo and Luz every year makes us feel like we are part of the Disney family and that we are where we should be.

The room is fine. But we always have to fight to get the room we requested. Something close to "El Centro." We also have found that the maid service can be spotty. It is very large resort and I would no recommend this for families.

Room Tip: Request a preferred room if you want to be close to "El Centro".

Just completed a 5 day visit for a work conference and I didn't find anything much to complain about. The rooms look like they have been updated recently and everything was clean. The sand beaches and hammocks are a nice touch and the service was good. I injured my foot and the staff was able to provide cold wraps. A few things to consider. The rooms are not huge so you are paying a premium for proximity to the parks and access to the Disney transportation. You can find this sized room for less off site. Also, the walk to and from your room to the health club and main building for food can be long. I found the health club sufficient and includes free weights. While I like this hotel I prefer port Orleans due to the water taxi access to downtown Disney.

Great location. Easy to get to theme parks and downtown Disney. Nice amenities and beautiful property. The only negative is that the rooms are small and seem a little worn, that being said it was clean.
