Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

My husband and I stayed at Coronado Springs from September 22 - 28th. Loved this resort! Large and well cared for grounds, lots of lovely trees and foliage that was well manicured. We stayed in the Casitas section right near the health club and a quiet pool, about a seven minute walk to the Main Pool, or five to the main buildings. The pools were absolutely gorgeous, and also enjoyed the large hot tub, great for achy muscles after a long day in the parks. We ate at the Pepper Market for breakfasts, a few days, great buffet. We got a few snacks at Cafe Rix, which was fine for quick bites. We dined at the Maya Grill on our last evening which had very good Mexican food--better than the Mexican at Epcot. Overall, because of the Spanish/Mexican themes, the hotel reminded me of being on a tropical all-inclusive vacation...but with better food, rooms and service.

As far as the rooms go, yes, they are a bit dark. Overall, very clean and mousekeeping did a great job. The beds were extremely comfortable, and slept very well for being away. Not alot of noise from other guests, which was nice. I really liked the themes of the rooms, because it is a convention centre, we were not constantly bombarded with Disney brand whilst in the privacy of your room.

Bus service for the week was great. We were right near Stop 2, which picks up and drops off first, which was convenient. We never found ourselves waiting for more than ten minutes for a bus.

Overall, I would definitely go back. A beautiful resort, and great experience.

First, have been reading these reviews for months & some were down right scary, so much so that I tried to change my Hotel at 1 point. I am glad I didn't. First the rooms, housekeeping, anything to do with the staff etc was perfect. Grounds are in great shape, staff was very friendly & helpful rooms cleaned everyday there was not 1 bad story to tell on this subject.
Food, I thought the Pepper Market was great, food was plentiful, cooked just right & they also went out of there way to be courteous & friendly. Bus stops are good ( 4 ) & never waited more then a few minutes. Some people on this site complained of wild life. Really??? It's Florida, lizards, bugs, frogs & yes an alligator ( small ) were there but really complaining about this is well stupid. My only issue my entire stay 7 days 6 nights was that I am also getting the impression that there is no "off season" at Disney, we went during this time frame to enjoy the smaller crowds, for the most part that simply wasn't the case. All 4 parks were busy & reservations for dinner hard to come by. Slower then the middle of Summer?? yes it was, but what I was expecting. NO!! The resort is big, you will be walking, but really where don't you have to walk a lot at Disney, get in shape don't complain & I am not under 55 yrs old.

Room Tip: Cabanas building was excellent close to everything nice view

We chose this resort for two main reasons....a) it is a convention resort; meaning a bunch of business meetings and, therefore, business people who are busy during the day and likely traveling without children and b) it is a very large resort; this had us thinking people wouldn't be on top of you and you could escape when needed!

We traveled in mid-November and the "crowds" (if you would call them crowds) were minimal...it was great! The Coronado property is huge BUT it worked out perfectly for us. We did spring for one of the preferred rooms...closer to the food and office area and this worked out great for us.

Room was clean, quiet and - for the 6-8 hours we were in the room each day - just perfect for us. A fridge was a nice touch as we'd often take our desserts to our room and enjoy them before bed.

On property food was great...we ate on property several times and were pleased each time. We also LOVED the fact that there was an on property laundry facility and several pools.

We would certainly stay here again but hope to try another resort (or two or three) first!

Room Tip: Learn your bus stops upon arrival! And, we found the "preferred room" upgrade well worth...

I had some reservations about this hotel after reading some of the reviews on Trip Advisor. This was our first trip to Walt Disney World and we wanted it to be perfect. Our room was right across from the main pool, a short walk to Bus Stop 4. The walk to the hotel lobby was a beautiful stroll across the lagoon. Some people complian about the walk but I didn't feel it was far at all and there were plenty of trams to take people from one place to another if they didn't want to walk and enjoy the scenery. Our room was perfectly cleaned each day and the housekeeper left towel animals and rearranged the girls toys in fun ways each day. The food in Pepper market was great for a buffet. I am not a big fan of buffets, but this one had great variety and the food was of great quality, too. It wouldn't be a complete review if I didn't mention that each and every cast member that we encounted at the resort was friendly and extremely helpful. Thank you for making our first trip to Walt Disney World a truly magical experience!

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the main pool.

We (3 adults, 2 children) recently came back from our first trip to Disney. Coronado Springs Resort was a great place to relax in between trips to and from the Disney parks. The resort has spectacular grounds and breath taking views. The rooms are on the small size, but large enough for the amount of time you spend inside them. Our room was quite clean and the beds and linens were comfortable. We loved the Pepper Market, didn't really enjoy the Maya Grill (not very little kid menu friendly). The gift shop is large and great for those last minute items you forgot to pick up at the parks. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the ins and outs of Disney. The pool area is great, with the park close by. One thing that we wish could have been different was the transportation. We waited for over an hour for a bus to Magic Kingdom one day and had several other long waits. Although no fault of the hotel itself, something to bear in mind when booking early morning meals away from the resort. You will want to ensure you leave plenty of time to get to your reservation on time. We were waiting with a family who missed their Character Dining at The Crystal Palace due to the wait for the bus.

For the length of time you stay at the resort, this is a great option for you and your family.

As soon as you step into this Disney resort, the magic of Disney begins. All staff are so nice and friendly and always have a smile on their face. As it was the first time we went to Disneyworld, after checking in, we got some special first timer badges to wear. After check-in, the reception staff explained to us how to get to our room. The hotel ground is fairly big.

The room was much bigger than we expected. There are 2 double beds and it could easily fit 4 persons in it without feeling being squeezed in. Bathroom is a bit smaller and contains a bath and a shower head. However, the sink area is separate from the bath and is very spacious. Hotel provides the usual soap/shampoo/cream. There is also a safe (albeit small) and hairdryer. The room was clean.

In terms of transport to and from the different parks, this was again fairly painless. Buses come and collect passengers from the hotel fairly frequently although sometimes we had to wait for a bit for them. The bus waiting area and the rooms were not too far - 5 mins walk although will depend on which room you get allocated. The buses usually have a very cold blast of airconditioning however if you sit at the very back it is slightly less cold.

Another super good thing is that you can use your room card as a charge card - so you can pay for things in the different parks with your room card thus saving you the hassle to bring cash. Then you settle the bill when you settle the room bill.

Beautiful resort!..Our room was in the Cabana section building 8A, which is across the lake from the main building. The pool was close to our room and its huge!!..I've read some bad reviews about this hotel, but I thought it was great. Its large!..but also clean and most workers are very friendly!

Room Tip: Our room was about a 5min walk to the main building, which is about the farthest away you can get.
