“ANOTHER WONDERFUL STAY!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013

We stayed at POFQ the week before Christmas; the crowd level was not bad at all. This is our third time staying at this resort in as many years. We are a family of 5; 4 adults and one teenager. We asked for connecting rooms and our request was granted; we booked through AAA. I did ask for building 3 or 4 but they were not able to grant that request so they upgraded us to a river view room in building 6. Buildings 3 & 4 are very close to the bus stop but all of the buildings are close since this is such a small resort. Our building was very quiet, but I have to say I wouldn't want to pay for the upgrade for river view. Our room was clean when we checked in (something I am extremely funny about) and mousekeeping kept up every single day. Staff was very friendly when we checked in; the process probably took 10-15 minutes since we didn't do online check in. As in the other reviews, the grounds are gorgeous, the rooms is plenty large enough with 2 queen beds which we all thought were very comfortable.

The food court worked out great for us as we had the dining plan. We had 1 quick service breakfast and 1 quick service lunch there. Each time the food was very good. Everyone was polite and it was very easy to navigate.

My ONLY complaint I ever have about this resort would be the bus system. This year was the worst yet. One day we waited over 30 minutes for a bus to Epcot at 10:30 in the morning. We also shared with Riverside SEVERAL times; not just coming back from downtown Disney. We barely made it to our dining reservation at the Magic Kingdom one evening because we had to pick up/drop off at Riverside's 4 stops before we could be on our way. Just in case you are wondering, that takes about another 30 minutes. I can't understand because we drive right past our entry to French Quarter twice! We all found this to be very frustrating. The bus at this point is extremely packed. On our first trip we stayed at All Star Music; it was a great resort but we didn't like the size and the waits for the bus. Well, the bus system is not any better here. I hate to say this because I love everything else about this resort.

We will most likely stay here again; I can't see paying the price of the Deluxe resorts and the other moderate resorts are so much larger.

I hope my review was helpful! Have a wonderful vacation.

Room Tip: If you want close to the main building and bus stop, ask for Buildings 3 or 4!

Nothing compares to Nawlens but disney captured some of the spirit here. ( However it was a lot cleaner & family friendlier than Nawlens. lol) The moment we arrived the staff made you feel welcome. We enjoyed the decor & atmosphere. The room carries on the theme well. Beds are very comfortable, bathroom area has tub & potty in room which is kinda small but large vanity/ closet area. The room isn't much bigger than when we stayed at the movies resort a few years ago. But it's a lot closer to the lobby. Beds a little bigger too.

Sometimes it's just worth a little extra money to have a little bigger bed, short walk to the lobby, & less crowded resort. But if that doesn't matter go to the movies resort Dalmatian room. Best for your buck.

Would rather stay at Pop Century again than this hotel. NO HOT WATER for your shower. When we complained several times to the front desk the maintenance man said that they keep their water lukewarm so that little kids do not get burned. This is ridiculous. Won't be coming back. When I'm on vacation I want to enjoy a nice, hot shower. Not a cold one.

This was our very first trip to Disney World. We had no idea what to expect, and which way to go. Boy did we get lucky with this place. We went after Thanksgiving, and it was decorated beautifully. The people there were incredibly friendly, the grounds were awesome. We had a standard room with 2 double beds. The room was clean and roomy enough for our weeks stay. The bathroom was big enough to accommodate the 4 of us. House keeping was always on the ball. My kids loved the pool area. Pool provides life jackets and has plenty of life guards...so it was also relaxing for the parents. Hotel offers boat service to downtown Disney, and the bus system was super convenient. It was just a short walk to Port Orleans Riverside, which also had lots to do. Everyone was friendly and very willing to help out with all of our crazy needs. If we ever go back to Disney World, we will most definitely be staying at this resort. O, and don't forget to try the beignets! They are AWESOME!

Room Tip: Standard rooms still have beautiful views.

My wife and I spent a few days at Disney over Christmas and stayed at the French Quarter for the first time. We booked thru AAA and were pleasantly surprised at the view of the waterway from our room. The rooms were nice, clean, comfortable and big enough. The employees were very nice and helpful and eager to answer all of our questions. We caught the boats to Downtown Disney right outside of our building and the buses to the parks were convenient and quick. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. Be sure to check out the Beignets in the restaurant!

I've stayed at French Quarter many, many times (and it's partner resort, Riverside) and I have to say, it still has it's charm! It's one of the better Disney resorts; the rooms are all within reasonable distance of the lobby, dining room, bus stops, and main pool - never more than a 5 minute walk! A huge advantage: boat transportation to Downtown Disney and Riverside - perfect for a quick trip for some shopping downtown, or a relaxing cruise to the Ol' Man Island pool at Riverside! The pool is large and features a large (in Disney standards) water slide for children - also feature a poolside bar, open daily for those hot afternoons! Unlike it's partner resort, Riverside, the French Quarter has elevators in all of it's buildings, making that post-park walk to the room much more enjoyable! French Quarter is where Mardi Gras meets Disney - not 100% party, but also not 100% magic! A perfect combination if you ask me!

I absolutely love this resort. We have visited Disney World eight times, and six times we have stayed at POFQ. It is nicely sized, especially for families with smaller children, instead of being spread out forever. You can get from any one of the buildings to the main building and the bus stop within 5 minutes instead of 20 minutes. And buses come frequently, so no waiting 30 minutes to catch a ride to any of the parks. Can't wait to go again!
