Second trip to Disney in 3 months so we decided to try a new experience. Last time we arrived at night, this time it was 11 a.m. The magical express dropped us off and I was shocked to see noone there to greet us, not until you get to the front desk. We got our room, luckily not too far away from the lobby. The rooms are nice and beds comfy. It's mainly made up of brick streets and sidewalks with some tree around. Supposed to give you the feel of na'wlins I know but Florida to me is about the greenery. It would have felt more comforting if they at least have a street band dispersed throughout to make it feel festive. It is a smaller resort then the riverside where we stayed last time. The pool is really cool and great for the kids, the lobby has really high ceilings and decorative but loud. They do lack in the food offerings, this place really should offer a tableside restaraunt. The food court is designed to be fast, while some of the food is prepackaged and frozen, they also do offer create your own pasta dishes and salads, along with fresh sandwiches, all with fresh ingredients. We also did have some issues with maintenance and housekeeping and along with some other issues we asked to be moved to Riverside for the remainder of our stay. That turned into a huge ordeal but the CM'S were very helpful in making things happen and being very calm and reassuring during the ordeal. It was then that we found out that riverside and FQ are part of the same resort and thus share employees, such as the greeter, he was on break! That was just so "un-disney like" and really added to this visit feeling not-so-magical and more like walking into any typical hotel. Disappointed.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in October. From getting on the Magic express to getting back off again 2 weeks later at the airport this holiday was magical and the every member of staff at the hotel being more than helpful and welcoming. Everyday was over 90 degrees F and the hotel rooms were always Air Conditioned for a perfect nights sleep with very comfy beds. We stayed as a family of 4 children being 10 and 13 and have had our best holiday to date. Food was always good with the on site restaurant and the wristbands they now employ making carrying any money on the entire Disney lot redundant. Well done. We are booking to go back again next year. Can't wait !!

We stayed here for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon as this was one of the host resorts. The resort itself is excellent. The architecture reminds of New Orleans French Quarter. The standard rooms have two queen beds and a refrigerator. They also have a double sink which is separated from the room by a curtain. The toilet and tub/shower is separated from the sink area by a door. The room also has a small wall safe which easily held my iPad. The resort also has a food court that serves breakfast/lunch/dinner. The food was ok, but not as good as some of the other Disney resorts, most notably Coronado Springs. The area where this resort falls down is the bus transportation. Most of the time, this resort shares bus service with Port Orleans-Riverside which has four stops. So, when you catch a bus at French Quarter, you also ride over and around to the four Riverside stops. One afternoon, were at the Hollywood Studios park before our dinner reservation at Epcot. We had and hour and a half and thought we could get back to our room and freshen up and head out to Epcot with no problems. We had to pretty much turn right around and head to Epcot and were just barely able to make our dinner reservation, practically running through the park. We learned that it was always much quicker to ride the buses directly from park to park rather than attempting to get back to our room. They also have a boat to Downtown Disney that we attempted to ride several times but it was always too crowded to get on. I would think twice about staying here again, due to the transportation problems. I have stayed at other Disney resorts that have much better transportation.

Port Orleans French Quarter Resort is the smallest of all the Disney World Resorts, which is one of the reasons we like it so much. We have stayed here for five consecutive years. The New Orleans Mardi Gras theme is festive and very pretty. During the holidays it is decked out with colorful Christmas decorations & lights that would awe anyone. The atmosphere is great. They have Cajun Christmas music playing throughout the resort so you feel you are staying in a swanky hotel on Bourbon Street! There are horse & carriage rides (for an extra fee) between the French Quarter Resort & Port Orleans Riverside Resort. As you walk through at night with the street lanterns lit you can hear the horse hoofs clopping on the pavement as the carriage passes by you on the street. So cozy! The rooms are a good size with everything needed, fridge, coffeemaker, TV, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, lotions, soaps and every day “Mousekeeping” leaves washcloths or towels in the shapes of animals. The pool has been noted to be one of the Best hotel pools on Disney property. It is all tricked out with alligators playing musical instruments, waterfalls and a huge sea serpent with King Midas riding on his back. The slide is the serpent’s tongue. The hot tub area is surrounded by ivy bushes which makes it nice and secluded. The gift shop has just about anything you need if you have forgotten something at home. POFQ does not have a table service restaurant but it does have the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory which serves breakfast, lunch & dinner and is open till midnight. It has dinners, sandwiches, pizza, Cajun food, beverages, fresh fruit, ice cream & desserts. You can use your Disney dining plan credits here. We have always enjoyed the food we get here and the servings are more than plentiful. Disney buses pickup consistently all day long to all 4 parks and to Downtown Disney. If you are in a relaxed mood, take the River Taxi down the Sassagoula River to either the sister resort Port Orleans Riverside or to Downtown Disney. The River Taxi is a must do, ride it in the day and at night, it is very scenic and relaxing.

Room Tip: We have stayed in buildings 2, 3 &4 are closest to the main entrance, food court, bus stop and g...

As a Disney veteran I found this hotel to be a very serene and convenient place to stay.We asked for a corner room close to the main building and that is exactly what we got. No long walks to the gift shop or cafeteria. The room size was per usual for Disney and clean and comfy. The buses took us right to the theme parks without stopping @ it's sister property Riverside like others have complained about in the past. The cafeteria also had so so reviews in the past but the menu offered many different choices which I was glad of since I have 2 picky children and the service was quick and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Room Tip: corner rooms make the room feel larger

Great hotel and would have no hesitation about going there again.

Recommendations:-
Disney food plan
Purchase refillable cup (2 was suffice for 4)
Take boat trip to downtown Disney

Quality of room was good, staff typically so helpful and happy.

Convenient for all parks but also so relaxing after a heavy dose of theme park.

So glad we chose this resort. No building is too far from the facilities, lovely pool and hot tub with a very casual atmosphere. Very impressed with the lifeguards, always alert and patrolling the pool. Fairly typical hotel rooms , but very comfortable. Bus transportation worked very well for us with no long wait in either direction.Would definitely return as did not like the look of the very large resorts.
