My husband and I stayed 6 nights at French Quarter to celebrate our 60th birthdays during early June of this year. This was our 5th stay at Port Orleans and we can honestly say it is always wonderful. Rooms are comfortable and CLEAN. I honestly can not understand those who have complained about housekeeping, etc. I have never been disappointed. Staff was friendly and honored our special requests to be placed in a particular section and room. Stay in section 5 river view. The view is peaceful and it is always quiet in case you don't want the noise from the pool or evening movies although these activities do end early. What makes this resort so special is how small it is. You are close to everything. The horse drawn carriage ride which you can get at Riverside is fun and a great way to celebrate any special occasion.

This is by far the best value of any Disney on-site accommodations. It is perfect for couples or those looking for a quiet getaway while in the hustle and bustle of Disney World. The theming is very New Orleans with little Disney treatment. It's small and quaint with awesome staff.

The reception area is big and bright with the sounds of New Orleans Jazz in the air. The greeting with Mardi Gras beads set the tone for fun and revelry that flows throughout the grounds. The rooms are very nicely appointed since the remodel in 2011/2012 providing space to relax, eat, and do a little work when necessary.

The bar provides great music on certain evenings to entertain parents and grownups while the cafe has many options to tempt the pallet (including some pretty wonderful beignets!). The pool bar has very friendly staff who are waiting to provide with a cool drink on warm day.

Transportation is the best perk for this Disney Resort. It's smaller than all of the other properties and the bus system is flawless with very short wait times even during busy weeks. The placement of this property as the either the only stop on the bus or as first stop when sharing buses with Riverside for most parks meant that we never missed our ride. The added bonus of a direct boat ride to Downtown Disney makes this location perfect for a getaway.

Room Tip: Upper floors are great for a quieter stay but don't opt for the additional "preferred room...

Port Orleans French Quarter was my first time staying on Disney Property. It has always been my goal to stay at several Disney resorts, but after staying at the French Quarter this seems to be the hotel I want to go back to.

The resort is much smaller than the other Disney Resorts. While many might find this to be a problem with the lack of table restaurant on property, I found it to be quite convenient. I was looking for a nice hotel, a good food court and a quick way to get to the Parks. (The real reason I was here) Since it is a smaller resort there is only one bus stop that is right next to the front lobby and food court. We woke up in the mornings grabbed a quick breakfast and hopped on the buses.

The food court is good. I enjoyed the resort food court over the quick service in most of the parks. (Except Epcot). Breakfast has several options, but I enjoyed the Mickey Waffle the most. The best part of the food court is the ability to carry out a delicious pizza to share with the family. This can be most useful when settling in at night to watch a movie on the lawn at the resort. Each resort has an area where they play Disney movies each night. Families just grabbed towels and settled in for a nice relaxing evening.

The transportation at the resort is great. We never waited too long for a bus and very rarely did we make a trip over to Riverside to pick up additional guests. If our bus wasn't too full they would make a stop or 2 at Riverside, but most times we had our own bus. There is a boat that runs to Downtown Disney. This was very convenient and made for a nice relaxing ride. You got to see Downtown Disney from the water which was a very different view.

The rooms were clean and each contained a fridge and coffee maker. There are even a few hidden Mickey's in the room for those that can find them! There is a curtain that separates the beds from the vanity/sink. This can be very useful for getting ready in the morning and not waking everyone up with the lights. We were in building 4 which is right next to the bus stop, the food court/lobby, the lawn to watch the movie, and a quick walk to the pool. I would highly recommend this building.

I still want to try other Disney Resorts, but I think I have already found my favorite

Room Tip: Building 4 is close the the buses and food court.

This is the second time we brought our grandson to this hotel when going to Disney. As the first time, all I can say is fantastic. The hotel is not as large as some of the other on site properties. So you don't get the feeling of being ignored. Rooms were great and well taken care of by the maid service. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Transportation to the parks was very good. Never a long wait or long lines for the bus. And you can catch the river boat to Downtown Disney, or go to the Orleans Riverside resort. Pool is geared up for children, but I liked it also. Our grandson is talking about coming back in 2 years, and wants to stay in the same room. The only down side is the on site restaurant could use a little imagination in the food selection. But it served us well for breakfast. And if you fly, take the Magical Express. No worries about your luggage either way. Remember, memories begin here.

Just returned from 4 nights trip to Disney, met up with family members from New York to celebrate my grand daughter's 8th birthday. The Disney bus and the check-in was easy. We stayed in blg 4 which was across from the food court. We loved the Port Orleans French Quarter. The pool was great, hot tub and bar nearby. On our last night we took the boat to downtown Disney. We had the dining plan so we used it to dine at the Planet Hollywood at downtown Disney. The buses to the park were convenient, every 20 mins. The rooms were nice and clean. If you are looking for a small quiet resort that is convenient to everything, the French Quarter is the place.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter is a really beautiful resort that has a great theme to it. The grounds are kept nice and clean as always. The staff of the resort are kind, considerate, and engaging to help you tend to your needs. I have stayed at this resort a couple times, and haven't had any problems staying here. The food court is really nice, also keeping the theme of the rest of the resort, which would be in this case New Orleans, and the food is good. The swimming pool is also really nice, especially for the kids. The colors and characters that surround the pool is quite nice. The rooms are really nice, the beds are really comfortable. The bathroom area is also nice, I really liked that they have a privacy curtain that closes for those wanting to change into their swim suits or getting dressed.

The transportation is quite convenient, depending on what building you are staying in, the walk from your building to the bus stop is not bad at all. The resort also has boat transportation as well, which takes you to Disney's Downtown Disney as well as Disney's Port Orleans- Riverside. You can take the boat to Disney's Port Orleans- Riverside to take a look around, that is another nice resort.

Overall, this resort is a very nice place for families and couples to get away. It is very beautiful and not bad for the price depending on the season you choose to go.

Room Tip: Before officially checking in, ask the Cast member to look at the resort map to choose the building...
