“Good inexpensive Disney resort”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

We stayed early May for three nights. Overall the resort really fit our needs as we were traveling as two adults with no kids. This resort definitely seems to be more suitable for adults traveling without children. Although there were families staying here, but there seems to be a lot more couples. We really enjoyed the size of the resort as it wasn't too big and pretty easy to navigate around. The bus stop is very convenient with just a short walk to and from our room. The rooms are starting to get a little dated but everything worked great and the rooms were clean, plus we didn't spend much time in our room anyway. There is a small food court with some options and a lobby and pool bar. Staff was very friendly and all the grounds were very clean.

This is our 3rd stay at Port Orleans, great resort but feel it's very tired looking compared to other resorts. A great sized resort though as quite small and nothing too far away from food, shops and the pool. I agree with previous comments that the food selection is quite limited and not many healthy options. You cannot fault the staff though as the service is great and nothing too much for anyone. Rooms are spacious but the toilet flushing in your own room and surrounding rooms are very noisy, not much you can do about that though. Like most Disney rooms they are very dark, you cannot have your blind open as everybody passing can see in. House keeping very good. Overall a nice resort and the best for moderate but would prefer to save for a deluxe room with a balcony. Saratoga is our favourite to date as we can walk to downtown Disney in 10mins and skip the queue waiting for a bus.

One of the quieter disney resorts so not too many kids charging around.
Room was lovely with two queen beds, plenty of storage, all towels changed daily and spotlessly clean.
Pool area was lovely with plenty of sun beds and two very attentive life guards on duty.
Easy check in although seemed a little disorganised in a temporary corner as main check in being refurbished.
Food was fine, all fast food as you would expect.
Lovely grounds with fab views overlooking the water. Prefer French quarter to Riverside as not such a large site - Riverside some of the rooms are quite a distance away from the main facilities.
Would definitely stay again.

We stayed here from 13th May to 15th May we checked in very early so got nearly the whole day to to look around ect. We stayed at it's sister resort last year and didn't think anything could top that! We are very pleased to be wrong! and the whole laid back feel and closeness of this resort is great! This in my opinion is the best moderate resort around the area and we are still talking about how much we loved it 5 days on from our return home.I think if we get back to Florida we will definitely stay here again!

Me and my family have stayed at a few moderate resorts at disney world and we all agree that this is the best one of them all. what makes this moderate resort better that the other moderate resort is that it is not as big as the others which makes getting to the pool, main lobby, laundry and food court a short walk. The other things that made this place great is that it is not as crowded and loud as most of the other resorts , alot of families with really young children tend to stay at value resorts, which also makes taking the the buses to and from the theme parks less crowded. The resort grounds are so clean and well maintained that walking around the resort and walking to riverside makes you feel that you are in paradise. Housekeeping is also great, everynight when we would get back to our room our housekeeper would have towels folded into animals for my daughter who thought it was great. The resort rooms are also a nice size and have two queen beds as opposed to the other moderates where we stayed only have doubles. the only downfall at this resort which is really no different that the other resorts is the food at the food court is nothing of great quality so we tended not to eat the resort, only if we were tight for time or to get a snack. So if you would like to stay at a resort that has a deluxe feel but wanna pay moderate resort prices i would strongly suggest you stay at the port orleans french quarter, you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: request to a room in either building 1 or building 2 they are closer to all the amenities

Enjoyed so much our time at Port Orleans French Quarter! Just got back from a two night stay. The lobby is undergoing some renovations so a little temporary concierge desk is set up along with check in, which could possibly get very crowded due to small area its forced to be in. Did online check in, it was a breeze! They had a little packet already for us with room keys etc never needed to wait in a line. Bought park tickets via concierge so saved lots of time the next day. Stayed in building 4 which was right beside main lobby and bus stop. Second floor, corner room, instant relaxation very clean and completely the best start to our vacation! Didn't see many children but they did play a movie each night at the pool which we could see from our building. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort to all!
