Always a great time at Disney's Port Orleans. Family style - fun times. Clean and great location to all of Disney's attractions. Bus available so you do not need your car to enter the parks. Great place!

We had a fantastic stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter on our visit to Disneyworld, over March Break 2013. We were upgraded to a room close to the pool, because the person checking-in befoe us did not want it. Staff was helpful and pleasant. One small complaint was that the pool was closed for maintenance for half of a day...exactly when we planned to go swimming.

Room Tip: Also explore the Port Orlean's - Riverside, which is within walking distance. Take the river boa...

We chose Port Orleans French Quarter essentially because it seemed like the quieter, intimate experience away from all of the usual grand Disney flash. It was exactly that and more- and the cherry on top was absolutely the nighttime carriage ride available from Riverside right next door. The lit trails connecting the two resorts are lined with breathtaking scenery, and the view from our corner room facing the river AND the garden was just perfect in every way.

And, being on our honeymoon and wearing the badges that say so, the staff was exceptionally attentive to us and we received many wonderful special treats throughout the resort and the parks! The inside of the rooms were just perfectly quaint, comfortable size with plenty of storage space. Everything is SO CLEAN. Climate control in the room is right on.

Everything is VERY accessible, you can walk around the entire resort in a few minutes. Transportation everywhere is a snap with one bus stop. Food isn't bad at all, though the selection is slightly limited. It's generally quiet all around, even when the pool with the rockin' dragon slide was full. So romantic, so peaceful, we couldn't have asked for more.

There is so much more but I won't spoil it - All I can say is we had a wonderful experience. If you aren't looking for the big fancy shmancy, this place is PERFECT! And we will definitely be back!

I love Port Orleans French Quarter. It is a smaller one of twin hotels the other being the Port Orleans Riverside. I just like the layout of this place. Great "streets" to walk through. Disney nice. Has a great and large food court with lots of choices. Perfect for breakfast. The pool in great. I wasn't sure if the pool would be that nice in a moderate but I actually preferred the pool here to the ones at the deluxe Disney resorts. Nice service, clean and comfortable. STAY HERE!!

The FQ is one of my favorite resorts. Love the queen size beds, the small atmosphere and friendliness of this resort. Its great to only have one bus stop, and resort seemed less crowded than other resorts. We never had to wait more than 20 minutes tor a bus, and I think we only had to stand during one ride home. The down side is since its a smaller resort the food court does not have many options. If you want more food options, you can take the ferry to Riverside, their food court is larger. There is only one pool, which was fine for us. My kids loved the dragon waterslide. The outside movies are great tor a night off from the parks. We will most likely stay here when we return to WDW.

First time staying at French quarters, we had previously stayed at Riverside. Things were good but I found some of the small things were missing. We never had towel mickey ears on our bed, the room was in need of a few small repairs and we were honestly not impressed with the quality of the house keeping staff. Besides that the pool was fun, the food was good, transportation was good and quick to get to. I would stay here again but hopefully house keeping improves by next time. Also hope my neighbour doesn't decide to leave dirty diapers outside his door.

We are a Disney family, having made 18 visits over the years. Have stayed at the premiums (Beach Club, Animal Kingdon Lodge, Wilderness Lodge) and the moderates (Coronado
Springs, Carribean Beach, Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans Alligator Bayou, and Port Orleans French Quarter).

This is probably my favorite stay on-property. We enjoyed the lodge hotels but once you've been there you realize you are away from the hotel room most of the stay. We still visit the restaurants at Artist Point, Boma, Citricoos, etc, but we sleep cheaper at the moderates.

Port Orleans French Quarter is very compact. There is essentially a quad of hotels buildings with a pool and the commons are in the center. Its not but a two minute walk across the whole property. Pool nicely themed. Good quick serve restaruant, attractive grounds. There is ferry boat service to DownTown disney. Attractive riverfront walway to enjoy the scenery.

Biggest advantage is that there is one single bus stop for the complex that picks up right at the lobby. And you board FIRST before driving around the huge Riverfront complexs (5+ stops). So you get first shot at seats, and the bus stop is no more than 5 minutes walk from the furthest room.

You get the full disney experience at a reasonable rate (althought the moderates used to be only $75/night back in the day).

Everything you need in one compact quiet resort with easy access to The World.

As I suggest, Disney veteran, and this is my pick for on property stays.

Disney World - "been there, done that, going back"
THPOE - the happiest place on Earth!
