We spent four nights at this hotel for a conference right after Halloween. We had a wonderful experience. We received great service. I needed my baby's comforter laundered-I called housekeeping at 7 am and someone showed up at my door 5 minutes later to collect the comforter! The room was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable.

Whenever we plan to visit Disney again, I will definitely stay here again.

Myself, wife and 19 month old baby pent 7 days at this hotel over Halloween 2007. Stayed in Sugar Loaf Key building which is a Concierge building. We took full advantage of the Concierge service before arrival. I must say I was very impressed with Denny our concierge. He took care of all of our requests, booked our restaurants for us, our Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party etc etc…. With each question or request I sent via email Denny would call to confirm everything and answer all of my questions. At the property the staff was fantastic, all questions were answered directions provided etc…. Food on Concierge lever was outstanding, limited but very tasty selections with drinks included as well! Area was very busy in the morning and evenings and it was difficult at times to find seats. It appears form overhearing conversations that a few “guests” were not actually guests. A family had checked grandma in to the concierge level of the GF and they stayed elsewhere but came over in the morning and evenings for the free food and drinks. I counted about 8 people using the facility who were not staying there but associated with “grandma” staff should have kicked them out! Pools at GF were great as were the restaurants and bars. We had a fantastic time. The room was newly renovated and housekeeping was top notch!

My husband and I just came back from Disney World and we really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Floridian.

The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are cozy and elegant (nice combo). The lobby really puts the word "grand" in Grand Floridian. A nice touch was an orchestra that played nightly. The staff was helpful and friendly. The pools were big and clean, and the waterslide was a blast! The Magic Kingdom is within view from "magic Kingdom view" rooms and the beach...these are great spots to see the nightly fireworks and water pageant. Our last night we went to the restaurant "Victoria and Alberts" in the hotel. It is a formal six course meal that was worth every penny. Delicious food, outstanding service, and romantic ambience was what made Victoria and Alberts an excellent dining experience.

There was only a few negatives....their was only one hot tub which can get pretty crowded. The hot tub also needs a bit of a makeover with its old chipped tile. The rooms are very nice but I would suggest not getting a dormer (or attic) room. We were on the 4th floor in Boca Chica and we had a dormer room. The room has vaulted ceilings and is a bit smaller than regular rooms but the main complaint was the balcony was very small. If you plan to enjoy your balcony, do not have a dormer room. We didn't request another room because it was not that much of a problem...but in the future if we return to Grand Floridian (and I would), I will request not having the dormer room. We had a Magic Kingdom view room but we really only could see Space Mountain and a few buildings near that. Cinderella's Castle was blocked by palm trees and a building. So be leery of the Magic Kingdom view....you may only see a sliver of it.

All in all, my husband and I really enjoyed our stay and I would recomend this resort to friends and family.

After spending our honeymoon the first week of September, I have to say that Disney exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we exited the "Disney's Magical Express" bus and approached the entrance of the Grand the magic began. We were greeted by name by our check-in concierge and promptly escorted to a table where she informed that we had been upgraded to a concierge level room in the main building. The room was awesome with balcony views of the lagoon and the Magic Kingdom. We were able to enjoy fireworks every night of our honeymoon. We enjoyed all of the parks, several wonderful restaurants, and plenty of magic throughout our trip. Upon arrival, we were given "Just Married" pins to wear around. As embarrassing as it was, we decided to play along and wear our pins each day. I am so glad that we did. We got greeted and congratulated by cast members all day, every day! We also received "special treatment" quite often. We would get pulled out of lines and escorted to the front, we would get our own "cars" when riding rides, we would get offers to stay on and ride again, we got free boat rides at the Grand Floridian marina, and the list goes on and on. Over all, we have no regrets about celebrating our honeymoon with Disney at the Grand Floridian. We made many great memories and the Disney cast members helped to make our 7 days magical! I would definitely recommend Disney and the Grand Floridian for any honeymooners, or travelers looking for a great hotel and vacation. Definitely worth the extra money!

We were lucky enough to stay at the Grand Floridian and our room had a spectacular view of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom. Though rather pricey, the hotel was wonderfully elegant, with an amazing lobby complete with a live jazz band playing some vintage favorites from yesteryear. We even took the time to have dinner at the famous Victoria and Albert’s; the meal and service was exemplary.

Though the hotel was luxurious, the housekeeping staff was very average. One morning, we accidently left the do-not-disturb sign on the door when we left for the day. When we got back, we noticed our mistake and called housekeeping to let them know. In typical Disney fashion, housekeeping said they would be happy to come up to clean the room at the time of the regular turn-down service. With our problem seemingly solved, we left for the evening.

When we got back at 10:00PM, the room wasn’t cleaned. We called housekeeping a second time just to get towels, housekeeping said, “Don’t leave the sign on the door next time.”

Now, I recognize it was our own stupidity to leave the sign on the door, and I might expect that response from a less expensive resort, but I certainly don’t expect that level of service from the flagship of the Disney Resorts. You’d expect some type of apology and something special the next day (like a towel sculpted in the shape of Mickey Mouse or something and few extra chocolates).

The front desk and concierge were very efficient. They were able to make and change our dinner reservations right at the hotel and provided us with several time saving tips for our stay in the parks.

The monorail made transportation to the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT incredibly easy. The bus transportation was about as efficient as it could be, but expect the trip to the other theme parks to take at least an hour.

Disney’s Magical Express service to and from the airport was a real time saver. However, when you arrive at the airport, pick up your baggage yourself and carry it to the Welcome Center. There have been plenty of horror stories about lost luggage on arrival and you don’t want anything to ruin your trip. You’ll have to wait for the bus service to your hotel anyway, so it’s best to keep your bags with you.

When we arrived at the hotel, we gave our bags to the bellman thinking they’d be delivered in a few minutes. When we called bell services there was no answer and we had to call the front desk. It took them an hour to bring our bags up with no explanation for the delay. If you can, keep your bags with you.

On our departure day, we were able to check our bags in and get a boarding pass right at the hotel! This gave us an extra day to enjoy the parks and we had no problem with our luggage.

The hotel and grounds are lovely. Aside from the uneven service, it’s definitely worth the stay!

  • Liked — Elegant building and grounds. Amazing views.
  • Disliked — Housekeeping staff and Bell services

I cannot understand why people under-rate this hotel on price and quality because like everything in life, you get what you pay for.

Let's be clear, this is a first-class hotel in an excellent location and provides exceptional service. If you are considering a vacation at Disney you should book this hotel. I could go on and on about this hotel and how it exceeded our expectations but I would only be reiterating other reviewers. Here are some of our top tips.

-Book restaurants (Citricos and Narcoosse) in advance to ensure a table (as non-residents take up a lot of tables)
-Pre-arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel
-Book & Pay Hotel in dollars if you live outside the USA
-Always use Fastpass at the most popular attractions in Disney

We had a magical time and if we went back, we would not stay at any other hotel.

We stayed here Sept 27 - Oct 7 and were very suprised. Having stayed at the other deluxe properties and always thought that this property would be too frilly and too victorian. To our suprise not at all.
As you can see we found ourselves here by the Contemporary overbooking. But being Disney they had everything done and even better to make sure that your "magic" was not ruined. Not only were we upgraded to the Grand, but were given concierge service and a Magic Kingdom view.
Service was exceptional all requests granted and everyone went above and beyond. Common areas vey nice, room always spotless, dinning very good and just an overall wonderful experience. If you have a daughter,a great place for your little "princess" to stay and feel like royalty. Keep in mind it is still disney and not a four seasons.
Lastly, can not say one bad thing!
