“Lovely property within walking distance of Epcot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2014

We stayed at the Yacht Club for one week of vacation this June--8 of us. The hotel is great, within a short walk to the Epcot World Showcase (you walk right into the park between the UK and France showcases) and a short walk to the Boardwalk area. The Yacht Club is attached to the Beach Club and you can use any of the facilities in both. Another reviewer noted that this is not a five star hotel---which is true but my experience was excellent. The property is less formal but with the best service as we have come to expect from Disney. I wish that some of that Disney magic service could great me on an airline...but those comments are for another review.

The pool is great, complete with sand bottom, waterslide, deep and shallow portions, lots of seating in both sunny and shady locations, Hurricane Hannah's bar and grill, etc. The Yacht Club is quieter than the Beach Club, so I would probably stay with the Yacht Club next time.

The hotel offers movies each evening to watch on the beach. Yes, there is a lot of trucked in sand for this beach, but Disney really pulls it off expertly. It is beautifully done.

The Yachtsman restaurant is excellent, as good as any I have enjoyed anywhere. The Cape May restaurant is a bit less formal and serves an excellent breakfast buffet.

Each room has a safe, refrigerator, comfortable beds, etc.

Room Tip: We had rooms 4079, 4071 and 4069 with views of the lake and Epcot. Each room was very nice. I woul...

The moment we walked into this hotel and our room , all we could say was wow. It was beautiful.
Rooms were big, beds so comfortable . Room and hotel very clean and I am very fussy.
The pool is fantastic.
Being so near Epcot is wonderful.
The staff were always friendly.
Can't wait to go back.

I had an 8 day part-leisure/part-business stay here and I couldn't really fault it. Everything is themed well. The foyer and staff were welcoming. The rooms weren't too far a walk. There is a very large family pool area at the front and at the back there is a private pool area. From what I could see, all rooms have a pleasant balcony area should you wish to absorb the humid Florida air. Otherwise my room was very spacious with well managable air-con. A short walk within the air-con building takes you round to the Crew Cup Lounge - a small-ish bar area which was never overly busy but a very pleasant place to drink. I didn't try any of the eateries on site but there are a couple of restaurants. There is also a souvenir shop downstairs. I would suggest bring water, tea, coffee and alcohol from outside of Disney should you wish to consume any as the former provided in rooms is of poor quality and the alcohol is expensive in any of the shops. Away from the hotel, Epcot is literally a 5 minute walk or a boat ride from just outside the main entrance or the Hollywood Studios is a 10/15 minute walk along the water or a short boat ride. Opposite the hotel on the other side of the lake area is the Boardwalk area which has a sports bar and several other eateries or late night venues. Personally I prefered to travel to Downtown which is a free busride from outside the hotel and open later into the early hours. I'm definately considering returning next year for a longer period.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the smaller pool at the back are quiet however there are better views from the fro...

I thought I was in for yet another convention hotel when I visited Disney's Yacht Club. Having stayed many times at the Swan/Dolphin, what a refreshing surprise. First I want to say this is not a 5 star hotel (there are no candelabras and over done opulence) , but my experience was 5 star. When I checked in, I received a Mickey wristband that was my key and credit card. It was engraved with my name and so was the box. I loved this! It was so much easier to hold it up at the door vs fight to find and use the key (which as you know can easily get screwed up if you put it next to your phone). I also used it at the sundry shop to buy snacks -- how nice if I had had the family with me. The hotel seemed so small (in a GOOD way) with only 5 floors. Yet, my room was very nice and large. What I was really shocked about was how QUIET it was. The location across from the boardwalk and next to my convention -- all in walking distance, could not have been better. I also walked to the Beach Resort. The decor and attention to detail was all Disney. The draperies and the blue willow china in cabinets -- I soaked it all in. The bad thing (and it was not bad at all) was that the room service people seemed easily confused. I ordered hot chocolate and it was a few packs or the powdered stuff and some hot water. I was kind of expecting something made with cream with whipped cream -- but I am sure if I had requested it that way they would have done it. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Garden room. On a corner in the hall. I had room 3124 - loved it. If you get a room near the wate...

Cleanliness is a definite issue. Mildew and other unidentified residue were in the shower. We found pubic hairs behind the bathroom door and the overflow drains in the sinks had black mold. The corners and so on are dusty. Rusty hinges and dated TP dispensers with spotty housekeeping reflect a motel ambiance rather than a pricey resort but the staff is courteous and the location is the best on Disney property. The pool is awesome for the kiddos and is only for Beach and Yacht guests. It has an amazing water slide and lots of turns and pools so it doesn't ever really seem crowded. So in short if you don't mind scrubbing your bathroom upon arrival, the location and pool make it worthwhile.

This hotel is ideal for families. Close to the Movie Park and EPCOT. Not so close to the Animal Kingdom or the Magic Kingdom. The bus ride to the Animal Kingdom or the Magic Kingdom is pretty long (@ 30 minutes.)
The rooms even on the first floor are quiet and nicely laid out, the restaurant are just OK and priced like Disney (high.)
Pool is nice but filled with kids.

Room Tip: Get a room close to the main entrance as the distance to the outer rooms is fairly long.

Disney does not disappoint! This resort is perfectly situated between the Boardwalk and the entry to Epcot. The location encourages morning an evening walks around the lake. The decor of the resort is beautiful, clean and maintained by friendly staff. The room was spacious and large enough for a family of four to comfortable stay. The conference center was spacious and comfortable and the food provided was excellent. Because of the location, there were plenty of places to eat.
The resorts pool is nothing short of awesome. The design resembles an actual beach with sand edges and features a slide that comes out of a pirate ship and spans over the walkway before dropping you into the pool.
This resort is a dream for kids and kids-at-heart alike. The price of the rooms are high but you will get Disney's promised "Magical Experience" included.
