“A big hotel with some pluses but some shortcomings as well”

If you like Disney and you like big and expansive hotels with a lot of entertainment this hotel is a good choice for you. Service is very good, a lot of things to do but in my opinion the rooms are tired and dated, with many things that don't work properly or not maintain properly. They are small things, but a think the hotel need a facelift

Even though the location is very good, the Yacht Club is boring. Staff are very nice but don't seem to go out of their way to help, just do what's necessary. Rooms were ok, clean. What it needs is a personality update.

Our check in was easy, and we were very impressed with the humor of the gate-guard and that our valet knew our names when we drove up to the entrance. They allowed us to leave our bags before check in so that we could enjoy Epcot for Race Weekend.

Everything was Disney feel, down to the hidden Mickeys in the rooms, but there was some room for improvement. The wallpaper and carpet seemed to date it a little, and I felt so bad for the employees in regards to their uniforms. It seemed like a bad stereotype of a Little Rascals sailing episode.

Also, the layout of the property leaves it a bit confusing to get back to the lobby if you are on the far end, which we were...the very far end. At one point, we swore that we were Jack and Rose trying to find our way up from steerage on the Titanic. All the halls look the same, and we should have left breadcrumbs. On the last day of our stay, we figured out there was a closer exit in a stairwell that we could get back into with our room card. It was unmarked from the outside, so best pay attention to what it looks like on your way out.

It was the best place to see the marathon and runners, though. Great view from our balcony of the water and boardwalk and runners. We enjoyed watching them go by in their costumes and the cheer squad cheering for them. We would definitely stay there again during race weekend just to watch the crowds. We also found ourselves lounging on the balcony and watching the lights and people walking at night. With the glow of the Epcot globe, it was very peaceful and pretty all lit up.

We enjoyed our breakfast at Kouzzina, and Epcot and the boardwalk was right there in easy walking distance. If you plan on truly enjoying Epcot and all it's libations, then it seems to be the closest to get back to. Our meal at the Yachtsman Steakhouse was utterly divine (see review.) Very nice and we would stay again.

Just a 10 minute walk to Epcot or a quick boat trip. also convenient to the Boardwalk area where there is an excellent restaurant called the Flying Fish. The pool and buffet restaurant at this hotel were great. Beyond that, the hotel was average. When we arrived we were upgraded to the concierge level floor that offered continental breakfast, snacks and drinks throughout the day/evening. Unless you are a drinker this was not a value, other than being free, the food was not good. We chose to eat breakfast at the buffet which had great selections and was very good. The steak house was unique but only ok. Great ice cream / malt shop across from the pool. The rooms were ok, the side chair was kid sized for a king size bed room. The rooms are small and cramped. You expect great service and you get it at Disney, just not all the amenities of an expensive hotel. A few perks like the location, buffet, pool and nearby attractions are what drives the desire to stay at this hotel again - not the rooms. We have stayed at most of the Disney hotels over the years. The Grand Floridian is still our top choice for best room quality.

My fiancé and I spent a week at the Yacht Club in September, and despite our overwhelmingly positive experience, I just haven't gotten around to leaving a review until now. Seeing a few of the more recent negative reviews, I thought now was a good time.

We are two child-free adults and were looking for a relaxing and romantic Disney vacation. I know Disney isn't necessarily the place to go looking for romance and relaxation, but the Yacht Club was everything we hoped for.

First--CHECK-IN. Check-in was quick, painless, and personal. We felt like VIPs being greeted at the door by name. There was no line to wait in, the cast members were extremely friendly and helpful. This was by far the easiest check-in I've ever done, and a far cry above the process at Disney's moderate resorts.

ROOMS. We paid for a Garden View room but were upgraded to a Pool View upon check-in. No one mentioned the upgrade during the check-in process, so we were extremely surprised and pleased when we found ourselves in a third-floor, corner room overlooking one of the quiet pools. The location of the room couldn't have been more perfect for us! Being on the corner meant we had TONS of natural sunlight, and being by a quiet pool meant a really nice view without the noise that you would get in a room over Stormalong Bay. We really enjoyed having our coffee out on the balcony in the mornings. I noticed that some others commented that the rooms are dated, but I really did not find that to be the case at all. Beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the décor was appropriate for the theme of the property. If you're looking for a sleek, modern feel, stay at The Contemporary instead. If a clean, fresh, nautical feel appeals to you then you will love the Yacht Club. The one and only hiccup we had (which wasn't really a hiccup) was that room service had forgotten to take the previous tenants' toiletries out of the shower. They were just half-used bottles of the Disney bath products (and the shower had in fact been cleaned), but it was a small detail I wouldn't have expected in such a nice place. Outside of that, our experience with housekeeping was perfect.

POOLS: Not much to be said here. Stormalong Bay is so much fun and the best Disney pool I've gotten the chance to use. The kiddies all seemed to be having a fantastic time, and for good reason. The sand-bottom was even nicer than I expected, the lazy river was relaxing (if a bit small), and the big pirate-ship themed slide was awesome. My fiancé had a blast with that :) Stormalong Bay naturally does get a little rowdy, but there are quiet pools and other hot tubs on the property for when you're looking for a more low-key vibe.

FOOD: By the pool, Hurricane Hannah's serves some good food and great drinks for lunch and dinner. The ice cream shop is also good and you can either sit down or get certain ice-cream treats to go. Breakfast is served next door at the Beach Club Marketplace, which is a bit inconvenient if you're looking for something fast and convenient, or if you have a couple of kids in tow. The Marketplace also gets quite busy and crowded. We quickly found the better alternative for us -- walking to the Boardwalk Bakery. The walk was really not much further than heading to the Marketplace, and we could get bagels, pastries, cupcakes, and breakfast bread bowls! We would grab our food and sit outside on the boardwalk overlooking the water. This turned out to be one of my favorite parts of our trip! Back at the Yacht Club, we also stopped for lunch at the Crewman's Cup one rainy afternoon. It's a bit expensive and does not accept the Disney Dining Plan, but the service was great and we enjoyed the food immensely. Dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse was also very good, but in truth we enjoyed our dinner at Monsieur Paul in Epcot much better. Considering Monsieur Paul, with its excellent food, service, and views, is walking distance from the Yacht Club, I'd recommend that over the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

LOCATION: Location was the number one reason we booked a room at the Yacht Club, and it really paid off. Having stayed before at a moderate resort at Disney, we knew that we needed to stay somewhere with as little busing as possible. From the Yacht Club, we could walk or take a boat to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Hating the buses as much as we do, we opted to walk through Epcot to the Monorail in order to get to the Magic Kingdom and liked that much better. We even got to stop at the Epcot Starbucks for coffee on our way! The only place we bused to, of course, was Animal Kingdom. Being so close to Epcot, and so close to Disney's Boardwalk, gave us TONS of options for dining without going very far out of our way or wasting a ton of time on transportation. Between Epcot, the Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Boardwalk we never ate at the same place twice.

Overall, I would absolutely go back to the Yacht Club, and I would recommend it to anyone except those with very young kids. Location is best for adult entertainment (Boardwalk has a few bars and the dueling piano bar, Jellyrolls, is OUTSTANDING) and for access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. For that reason I'd say families with young kids wanting to spend most of their time in the Magic Kingdom would do better at a resort on the monorail or at Wilderness Lodge with boat access to MK. For couples and adults looking for a quieter, more mature version of Disney, you can't beat the Yacht Club.

Haven't been in Disney Orlando area for 10 years and had no expectation.
Was attending a work conference and decided to go a night earlier.

What a wonderful surprise!
The service was unbelievable.People everywhere from minute you get off the shuttle bus, assisting you into reception, bookings, explaining all amenities available.

The new Disney band with smart chip, the most convenient invention when on vacation or conference.it is your room key!credit card! You have no need to carry anything else with you.

5 minute walk to Epcot.Beautiful swimming pools.
Room bright and lovely nautical, theme decor.comfortable beds and cushions?Nice washroom and nice shampoo, soaps etc...

If I had young kids or when my grand kids arrive ,I will Definately return and stay at the Disney Yacht club resorts.

10 out of 10!!!!

Location is great but rooms are dated and in our case we weredealing with broken amenities. Upon check in, we found our room with a TV that didn't work-called maintenance 2x and no one showed up, a noisy fridge and a shower head that oscillated all over the bathroom whenever you wanted a shower- soaking everything in the entire bathroom. Changed rooms, found that the towel bar fell to the floor ever time you touched a towel, electrical outlets that don't work. Called maintenance, mentioned it to our room attendant and even stopped the repair main as he was walking by. No action, no remedy. This is service? Where's the infamous Disney service?

Food at best is mediocre, especially if you aren't a buffet lover.

Given the premier pricing charged by Disney you expect way more but it's not even close to meeting your expectations.

This place needs a big tune up.
