We just spent a week at Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida, with family (children & grandchildren) and stayed at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The accommodations were wonderful and included easy access by boat or bus to the parks. One quick and relaxing boat ride and we were at the gate to Magic Kingdom! We also took the boat to Magic Kingdom and then made a quick transfer to the Monorail to go to another park. We would recommend this hotel, especially for a family with children.

We are frequent resort visitors. However this was our first time at Wilderness Lodge. We have been frequent visitors of Animal Kingdom Lodge and Port Orleans Riverside. We were not disappointed and may have found a new favorite location. Transportation was both a little minus and a big positive. We had been used to AKL, whose buses aren't shared with another resort. This means an uninterrupted trip to the parks. From WL the park buses are shared with either the camp grounds or Grand Floridian. This was a minor inconvenience when you are anxious to get somewhere. On the other hand the location of WL to other Bay Lake properties is tremendous and the additional boat transportation gives you access to 2additional properties. Throw in the monorail from The Contemporary and you have access to two more properties. In ten days I don' t think we visited the same restaurant twice.

I have stayed at lodges at Yellowstone and Glacier National Park and this hotel captures that rustic feel while having Disney's unrivaled customer service. You can take a 10 minute boat ride to Magic Kingdom and have easy access to all other attractions as well

This is the ideal location if you are visiting the Magic Kingdom. It's a short boat ride to the Kingdom. If you can, stay in the concierge level. It has a great breakfast and excellent coffee. Disney has a special way of treating a guest on the concierge level. At check in you will be greeted and taken up the elevator for private check in. This is a special way to celebrate. The regular rooms are also nice. Has excelent food service for a quick bite or table service. Artist point for couples or the Whispering canyon for families. . Very impressive lobby. Be sure to see the electric light boat parade about 9 pm on the lake. I have stayed there close to 100 times

We LOVED our first stay at the Wilderness Lodge. The first room we had had a closed balcony which we requested not to have. When I went back to the lobby and spoke to the cast member who had helped us she got her manager involved and our room was changed to a room with an open balcony and even upgraded!! The Whispering Canyon restaurant was good and fun for the kids (ages 2 and 4). We also liked everything at Roaring Forks. Going to Disney with little ones isn't always easy, but, having boat access to and from MK made all the difference!! It was terrific and we barely ever had to wait for a boat. Highly recommend The Wilderness Lodge!

My little family took our first vacation to Disney and stayed at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. We love vacationing in Northern MN and thought this resort would give us a little bit of that rustic feel we have come to appreciate. It did not disappoint. The lobby of this resort is beyond impressive! We chuckled a bit at the "convenience" for the online check-in lane- it was longer than the regular check-in.

We chose a woods view room for the quiet and were mostly satisfied with it with the exception of the nightly fireworks from the Magic Kingdom (but hey... it's Disney, it's to be expected) and the sound of the boat horns in and out of the MK. We were able to see the castle from our room which really added to the magic of being there. We even saw an alligator out in the pond outside our room! The room itself was just okay. Clean, yes. But pretty much your typical hotel room. I did like that the toilet/shower area was separate from the sinks/mirror so that others could use the shower while I was doing my hair. One of our sinks was very disgustingly plugged. We did make use of our fridge and kept it stocked with water, pop and beer throughout the week. The staff also left us cute little towel creations throughout our trip as well as took very good care of my 4 year old's new toys and stuffed friends.

As far as dining, we did have dinner at Whispering Canyon on our first night- it was a pretty fun experience and the food was excellent- one tip- ask for ketchup and you'll get a pretty good chuckle out of what happens. We ate regularly at the Roaring Fork but did tire of it pretty quickly. The pool wasn't too busy, was very clean and VERY well guarded. The lifeguards on duty were excellent and did not put up with any foul play. The waterslide is pretty awesome but sadly my son wasn't quite big enough to go down it just yet. We also loved the convenience and accessibility in getting to all of the Disney parks although be prepared to do a little waiting (but hey... it's Disney. Pretty much all you do is wait).

Overall the Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort. Spectacular setting and of course, the fantastic detailing you can come to expect when being at Disney. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Loved the hotel. Loved the convenience to Magic Kingdom with the boat transportation. Really pretty lobby. We had a great stay and appreciated being upgraded to a better view. Very confusing with trying to find it because of the name-- Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness!
