“Well kept Disney resort”
Reviewed November 16, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here for the wine n dine promotion. Had an ample sized room that slept 4 and looked recently renovated. Quiet room in all the Disney noise and great location to Epcot. Last time stayed at boardwalk n we found the room to be much nicer n quieter at beach club. Also convenient short walk to all boardwalk shops n restaurants. Good service n ample food choices too.

My husband and I stayed here for the Wine & Dine half-marathon weekend, and overall we had a fantastic stay. The personalized concierge service made check-in very easy (even if the "Welcome Home" greeting is a little overly familiar), the room was spacious, and the decor was tasteful, but still retained just the right touch of Disney whimsy. The highlights of this hotel are the beautiful solarium (where it was surprisingly quiet), the character breakfast at Cape May, and the convenient walking distance from Epcot and the Boardwalk.

The cons were minor -- the carpet in our room had been recently cleaned, but was left ever-so-slightly damp; our coffee was not replaced one morning, but when we called housekeeping, they immediately brought us extra. The bathroom is small (if you're seated on the toilet, you won't have room to close the bathroom door) and the shower pressure was a little light for my tastes, but that's a personal preference. The one real complaint I have about the resort is its lack of a cafeteria-style restaurant. When planning this trip, it never occurred to me to make reservations for breakfast, because every Disney resort I'd ever stayed in had a cafeteria. The Beach Club does not. It does have a breakfast counter in the gift shop, but it's light on options (muffins, fruit, and scrambled eggs are about it) and there's only one line, so it gets pretty crowded. And the other restaurants on the property are some of the most popular in all of Disney, so I suggest making breakfast or even lunch reservations early.

The hotel supplies you Magic Bands when you check in; they worked great except for when we were trying to get back into our rooms at 2:30 AM. Although the Magic Bands are great to use in the park (if a little Orwellian), the process of linking your hotel, your dining reservations, and your park tickets to your bands is cumbersome. Hopefully Disney streamlines this process soon.

The other tip I have is specific to those of you looking for a place to stay for the Wine & Dine half marathon. The Beach Club provides bus transportation before the race to the Wide World of Sports complex, but because the resort is so close to Epcot (where the race ends), there is no transportation back to the hotel once you're done. You have no choice but to hoof it. If you're an experienced runner, I'm sure the walk back is a breeze; for newbies like us, it was torture. Again, this is neither a pro nor a con, just something to consider.

Disney's Beach Club Resort is a beach-themed deluxe resort designed by Robert A.M. Stern and themed after seaside cottages found in Newport, Rhode Island at the start of the 20th century. It opened on November 19, 1990 and is located in the Epcot Resort Area, next to Disney's Yacht Club Resort, and across Crescent Lake from Disney's BoardWalk Resort. One can walk to Epcot in about five minutes and Disney Hollywood Studios in about fifteen minutes.

The resort is owned and operated by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. There are 583 rooms with a fifth floor Concierge Level that offers private floor access, a concierge lounge, turn-down service, and other amenities. The Concierge Level is called the Stone Harbor Club and all rooms were renovated in 2009.

We just got back from a five day stay in a Stone Harbor Club room with two queen beds and a large balcony overlooking the pool. Access to the exclusive Stone Harbor Club features Continental breakfast, snacks and evening beer, wine and cheese reception each day. The check in process is just great. We flew into Orlando then took the complimentary Magical Express bus. When we got off the bus we were greeted by a woman who was waiting for us and welcomed us by name. She had someone take our bags and she escorted us up to the fifth floor where we were quickly checked in by a concierge and showed around the club were snacks, food and drinks are served almost constantly. Everything is complimentary.

Stormalong Bay is the main pool located in the middle between Beach Club and Yacht Club resorts. It is the best pool in all of Disney with a sandy bottom, lazy river and the Shipwreck with a great water slide. There is also a quiet pool to get away from the kids.

Beach Club also has a great restaurant. The Cape May Café is a seafood buffet featuring a "clambake" and hosts a character breakfast with Goofy and other Disney characters.

For dessert the Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is a casual "diner-style" restaurant serving ice cream and "All-American" food. The restaurant features jukeboxes and its claim to fame is its "Kitchen Sink Sundae", which contains "eight scoops of ice cream, all the toppings in the house, and a whole can of whipped cream" in a large kitchen sink.

A fully equipped health and fitness center called the Ship Shape Health Club is for resort guests and offers fitness equipment, a steam room, a sauna, and a spa. Massage therapy is offered by appointment only.

If I have to give one complaint it's that the walls are too thin. I heard the neighbors alarm going off in the morning.

Bottom line – If you plan on spending most of your time at Epcot and Hollywood Studios and you have time to spend at the pool then this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money and get a concierge level room. It's worth it.

I have stayed at the Disney's Beach Club Resort 4 times now over the past 15 years. The design and atmosphere is beautiful. Disney make this resort memorable.
We stay here often because this resort has the BEST pool of all Disney resorts. You will be in the pool every night after the parks. The pirate ship has the coolest water slide. You must try it. See web site for details.
Rooms were big. Large flat screen television. Perfect comfortable beds. VERY quiet room.
VERY clean everywhere you go.
You can do airport check in (including bags) ate resort lobby. So you go right to the gate when their buss takes you there.

We just returned from a trip to Disney World and spent three nights at the Beach Club Resort. The location is incredible. You are within walking distance of Epcot and can take a bus or boat to the other Disney attractions. The rooms are large and well maintained. The check in process was horrible so make sure you go online and do all of the work ahead of your arrival.

had the opportunity to stay here for a week and we really enjoyed it. The bedroom was a nice size and had room enough for a couch and a table with 2 chairs. A small kitchenette was also available and came with a microwave, refrigerator and toaster. This is an ideal spot because it was very close to the Boardwalk and the stores and restaurants are all very walkable. The staff at the place are OUTSTANDNG!!!!! Any questions you have are answered. Any help you may need is provided for.

Room Tip: Our room faced the globe located at EPCOT. I would recommend that you get a room facing the pool fo...

This hotel is fabulous. It looks great inside and out. Yes, there are a few rough edges such as a few scratches on furniture, the odd carpet stain here and there, but you have to remember the volume of people using the hotel, most with over excitable kids, and so to be fair the hotel looks pretty amazing considering! Our room was overlooking the pool and the lake towards the boardwalk. At night it was lovely looking over the balcony towards the lights of the boardwalk. Room was cleaned daily and the kids loved the animal shapes the cleaners made with the towels each day! Pool is good and great to have a number of good eating venues on site. Cape May character breakfast is a must, as is a trip to the yachtsman steakhouse- expensive but we'll worth it (uses two waiter service credits per person). Great that epcot is so close and the boardwalk is just over the bridge. Transport to all other parks is excellent. Take note that if u are hiring a car, best to order collection from Alamo at the neighbouring swan and dolphin hotel. You literally just have to walk 10 mins to collect it and saves u going off resort. Only downside to this hotel is the extremely long walk to get to your room....it's like a maze!!! Also note that the fast pass app won't work if u are from anywhere but the US. Concierge can book you up to 3 fast passes for any day so make sure u take advantage. Soarin ride in doctor is VERY popular and books up fast on fast pass. Waiting time is commonly 70 mins.

Room Tip: Request a water/crescent lake view.
