We stayed here the first week in March. We typically visit Disney twice a year. This was our first stay at the Beach Club. I rank this hotel as one of my favorites (my top favorite is Wilderness Lodge). The pool was nice even though the weather only permitted us to use it briefly one afternoon. The best thing about this resort is its proximity to Cape May restaurant. One of the best buffets in all of Disney! We will definitely return to this hotel in the future.

Disney booked us with one room (pool room) and tried to push us into anther. We fought back, but they called security on us!!! What a joke; they sell us the magic, but only want our/your money. Breakfast for two adults and two children is $150 at the Cape May Café. Do yourself a favor an go to Universal.

This is our 2nd stay at the Beach club and 7th stay at Disney. People go on about the location but it really can't be beaten.

We checked in after a late flight to be told there wasn't a room on 5th floor (Club Level) for us, we weren't happy but after negotiations agreed to take a room on 2nd floor and move the next day. The only thing I would say about this problem was that the lady on reception kept saying it wasn't their fault, hmmmm well it certainly wasn't our fault! Anyway, it was quickly rectified so they were soon forgiven.

5th Level works for us, we like a quick breakfast which is easy, even if it is grabbing a bottle of water or coffee and a croissant to take out on our way to the park. We certainly couldn't forgo our evening meal and snack on the appetisers on offer but its great for some cheese and crackers or cookies for the children. The wine and beer finishes at 7pm but the staff will always get you a take out if you miss it or fancy a glass on the balcony. It is replaced with Amarula (Baileys) and the like at 8pm.

The staff were again very good, at busy times the club room could have been cleared quicker but sometimes the staff were rushed off their feet looking after other guests' requests. The peoplewe dealt with on the desk, Colin, Neil, Valda were as ever courteous and eager to please!

It has to be said that the attire of some of the younger people in there, bathing suits, bare feet wasn't very hygienic and a very small number of people's attitudes towards the staff was at times plain rude! Yes you might have paid extra to be there but manners don't cost anything!!

As other reviewers have mentioned the rooms are getting a bit tired but our room was fine. We got a room with a day bed and full balcony overlooking the pool and lake. The view was amazing! We had the same Mousekeeper as last time (Stella) and she was wonderful!

The location absolutely works for us. Within 5 minutes you can be at Epcot walking or 10 minutes on the boat to DHS. The buses this time weren't as packed as previously so no complaints there! I would mention that if it thunders/lightens the boats stop for H&S reasons, so if you see a threat either leave quickly or head towards the bus stops.

The children loved the pool and the slides, my only gripe was people reserving sunbeds and going out for the day, this really should be considered by the management because it is VERY annoying. From our balcony we could see white towels on nearly every bed and often they were still on the same bed when the pool closed without anyone ever using the beds. The staff are quick to please on every level but this one.

If you want to beat the crowds after the Fireworks at Epcot, watch them on the bridge between the UK and France and don't get the boat back, you can be back at the hotel before the boat has left!

I've only given 4 stars this time because of the little issues above, however, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and would definitely recommend!

Room Tip: Day bed rooms are slightly larger, full balcony is a must.

We booked a 5 night package directly through Disney, for four people (two kids, both 12), including Magical Express and Meal Plan. We did not pay up for a view, as we did not expect to be in the room very much, and that was a good decision. We had a regular 2 queen bed room on 4th floor overlooking the walkway on lake side.

Getting right to the point, the deluxe Disney resorts are not really deluxe. We stayed in suites at mid-tier chains during past year that were 25% to 33% of the cost, much more spacious, just as well furnished, and even more luxurious in certain respects. With Disney deluxe resorts, you pay up for convenience, without as much of a crowd as much of feeling like part of a heard at the moderate or economy resorts. You can save a lot of money and live a lot larger at non-Disney resorts, but likely need a car, and lose the conveniences. The best convenience of the Beach Club resort is that you can walk to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, or Disney Boardwalk (or take the boat). While most people take the boat to Hollywood Studios, we walked one time after just missing the boat, and almost made it to the park in same time as the boat, because it stops at Dolphin and Swan along the way from Beach Club.

With Magical Express from Orlando airport, check in was a breeze. We had our own personal greeter who walked us from bus to desk, and expressed us through. Can't beat that. The room was clean, and the beds are firm and comfortable. The room has plenty of drawer space. The bathroom arrangement is good, as the vanity counter with two sinks is outside the bathroom with toilet and shower. This allows for some efficiency when dealing with a family of four.

The kids liked the pool, which is billed as the best of all the Disney hotels. It has one fairly long water slide, but it is not a thrill ride like the water parks. The sandy bottom pool is novel, and actually nice. The pool area was well maintained. The gym / fitness center may be one of the better features relative to other Disney resorts, but similar cost hotels offer much more in that area as well. We did use the fitness center every day but one.

Food / dining and snack selections at Beach Club get mixed reviews. We ate dinner the first evening at Cape May Cafe, which has a very nice buffet. It was one of our better dinners during the evenings eating at all Disney resort locations. With the meal plan, we ate 4 sit down dinners and one sit down breakfast. On other hand, the counter service menu options at Disney Beach Club are quite limited relative to some of the other Disney resorts that we've experienced, including the All Star resorts, Caribbean Beach, and others. Everyone but me had a hard time finding something they wanted for breakfast that was a counter service. People love the ice cream shop at the Beach Club. We did not try the kitchen sink ice cream bowl, but did get a dish or cone with snacks on the meal plan.

Overall, not too many complaints. We were not sure that the rug was vacuumed during our stay, but otherwise, the HVAC worked well and is not loud, etc. - - as is the case at many hotels, especially older ones. We did not have to wait long for elevators in the hotel, or buses to / from Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom. And, the hotel is fairly quiet, so we slept soundly.

Our biggest complaint this time was the meal plan. We had two 12 year old kids, neither of which is a big eater. We bought adult menu plans for the two kids. On a few occasions, the kids wanted to trade down to a kids meal, because they are fussy eaters, and not happy with anything else on the full sit down or counter meal restaurants. Even though we prepaid for the meals, we were told at a few places that we could not trade down to a cheaper meal than we paid for. One time was at the Italian restaurant at Magic Kingdom, when one of the kids just wanted the single serve pizza from the kids menu. After showing some anger, they finally capitulated and served the pizza. Apparently, the way the computers are set-up, this sort of change creates all kinds of problems. Disney needs to do something about this.

If we were going to back for a stay at Disney, and intent on booking a Disney resort, we would consider staying here again, but only for a price in line with this hotel.

Rooms are large but need to be updated a bit.. some paint and a little extra TLC would be nice.

The staff is excellent here. We ran into some issues and they were resolved to our level of satisfaction.

This is a fun resort with excellent restaurants and an excellent pool that has a sandy bottom. The water slide is fun and they even have a small one for the little kids. The lazy river is nice and relaxing. The Pool Bar is great and has a nice selection of beers and mixed drinks.

If you can eat at all the restaurants, I suggest that you do. They are all very good including the buffet.
Quick service there is less than special but I believe that is because they would like to eat at their very tasty restaurants.

I did love that you can walk to Epcot and Boardwalk. Having park hoppers help a lot for bouncing in and out of Epcot. They good restaurants and well hop around the world showcase and have some drinks.

overall .... Very good resort with a great staff and excellent restaurant choices.
