Disney's Beach Club Resort

This was our first trip to Disney with our children (3 boys ages 9, 7 and 4). The resort was perfect. I had done my research on most of the disney resorts and was debating about a family suite at All-Star Music or the Beach Club and I am so glad that we splurged and went with a deluxe resort with more on-site ammenities. We had a garden view room on the 3rd floor, the room size was perfect for us (not too big not too small). I was concerned about previous reviews saying the walls were thin (I'm a light sleeper) but we didn't even know we had neighbours. The only noise we did hear was from the hallway if someone was noisy walking by but once you put the ceiling fan on you didn't notice it. The location is very central to all the parks and walking distance to Epcot and boat ride to Hollywood Studios. The best part was the movies on the beach in the evenings. We all looked forward to ending the day just relaxing in our lounge chairs watching a movie and the boys playing in the sand with the free bucket and shovel we got with our kids meal at the pool. The only bad thing I can say is that if you didn't purchase the meal plan it would be a bit pricey to eat at the resort. But we were lucky enough to go when they were offering free meal plans! PS If you go with boys you have to go the Typhoon Lagoon water park - it was the best!

Room Tip: We had a garden view room on the 3rd floor close to the main elevators. This was ideal for us with...

we stayed at the beach club for the first half of our honeymoon.it is a great hotel by disney standards.it is a perfect location being walking distance to epcot and hollywood studios.it is a beautiful resort hotel and we enjoyed our stay.they finally have free wifi (testing it may not last) which they should have at these prices.the bed was cozy and the room had the normal disney limited tv channel selections.our room also had a very small one person balcony(nice view over looking the boardwalk) that you wouldn't be able to fit a chair on.im not sure what the point is of a 1 person balcony in a room for a couple (king bed).bring your own toilet paper for it is cardboard! like the normal disney rule you will get much more bang for your buck off site but it is one of the best on site resorts and we would stay here again.we are suckers lol.......the table service food was decent not great(looking at you yachtsman steakhouse) and the quick service food is still pretty bad even at the resorts.

This was our first time staying on-site with Disney and although it's location to EPCOT was great we found that the Beach Club fell short in the basics like cleanliness and and helpful service.

The bed for the 5th person is ideally for those 10 years and under but was fine for our 5 year old.

It would be a stretch to say we had a bad time but that was mainly because we spent all day in the parks...maybe we were unlucky but I can't help but feel there are better options out there for the money.

I have written a bit about it in our blog along with some photos for those interested:

This was our 1st trip to Walt Disney World and I'm so glad we stayed at this hotel. We are a family of 4 with two small children, ages 8 and 6. My dad also joined us for 4 days so we were in a room with a daybed that accomodated us just fine. Don't get me wrong, I wish the room was bigger but we were comfortable. The beds were the most comfy beds ever ! The #1 best part about this hotel is the proximity to Epcot. We would spend an entire day at another park and stroll over to Epcot just to watch the fireworks show! We did this 3 times ! I was very content with the shuttle and ferry system - never waited more than 15 minutes and we went everywhere !! We did the character breakfast at Cape May and was pleasantly surprised with the food selection that incl lox and bagels. Of course the Mickey waffles were incredible ! Ate at the pool restaurant a few times and the burgers are amazing too ! Btw, the refillable mug for $14 is a must ! You can get all the soda, lemonade, coffee and hot chocolate you want. We will definately stay here if/when we come back to visit WDW.

Location Location Location . . .from here you can walk to Epcot, take a boat ride to Hollywood studios or walk to the Boardwalk for dinner. The pools are sand bottomed, so the kids will love it. There is plenty to eat and do from this resort. When we were there they were getting ready for Christmas and were building a gingerbread merry-go-round in the lobby . . .way cool. Rooms were fantastic. See about staying on the 5th floor and get the concierge service . . .well worth the extra money.

Room Tip: Ask for an Epcot view . . .watch the fireworks from your room!

We spent 1 week in Sept. 2011 and had an absolute fabulous time. The food is a little pricey on site but this is Disney and plenty of people had mentionned the same thing about Disney so we weren't caught of guard. The convenience store on site was also very pricey so if you're able to purchase water and fruit out of Disney World do so. The sand pool is a definate winner with the kids, especially since they give you a bucket and shovel upon purchasing a kids meal at the pool grill. Walking distance from the Epcot and having a nice Boardwalk, there was plenty to do on site. It also has 2 water slides , from a nice adult and older kid slide to the young kid slide. The white sand beach that's close to the pool area plays Disney movies every night, however unfortunately you can't swim in it. One can also see the fireworks everynight from the Boardwalk and also if you're room is facing the Epcot. We traveled with a 2 and 4 year old and this was the perfect Disney Resort for them. Don't miss the breakfast buffet with Goofy and friends on site, just make sure to reserve prior to going. Oh..one last thing that's in my opinion a real negative, they really blast the AC in the lobbies (which is felt even more if you go into the villa section), so coming back from the pool make sure to wrap up because the extreme hot from outside to the extreme cold made it unpleasant.

My family and I have stayed in Disney's Beach Club (BC) many times over the years. THe BC is huge, stretching from a few steps from the International doorway into Epcot (between England and France in the World showcase area) to an area called Stormalong Bay, which is a sandy bottom pool that meanders through slow eddies, waterfalls, under bridges and around a slow moving river like area. Hot tubs and a unique water slide and great sandy, shallow pool kiddie area are included in a space so popular that Disney had to close off the pool to anyone not staying at the Yacht or Beach Club. The Beach Club rooms are large and comfortable. Most have 2 queen beds and some have a daybed that a small child can manage to sleep upon. Beds are comfortable and reasonably firm. No feathers in the bedding, whichis important for allergy sufferers. First floor rooms have a small patio area with 2 chairs and a table, but are not very private. Second, third and fourth floor rooms have balconies, but some balconies are very small and are standing room only - no space for tables or chairs. The garden view rooms on the end near Epcot are convenient to enter Epcot, but are a long walk to the lobby, bus stop to the Magic Kingdom/ Animal Kingdom and boat transporation to Disney Studies. Overall the most convenient rooms are those closest to the lobby and Stormalong BAy. The hotel is comfortable and beautiful with a relaxed, cozy atmosphere that offers a welcome respite from the crowds inside the theme parks. Wifi is supposedly available in the rooms, but I was unable to connect to it despite many tries. My room was very close to Epcot and far from the lobby, so that may be the problem. I am not sure, because I didn't take the time to pursue the issue. The air conditioning worked perfectly and quietly. The bathroom has double sinks outside the toilet and bathtub area. Every room has a mini fridge that you can request them to stock, or that you can fill yourself from groceries available at a small store near the lobby or from the Screen Door at the Boardwalk.

There are a number of restaurants at the BC including the Cape May Cafe (buffet) and Beaches and Cream (a 50's style soda and burger place complete with juke box). In addition there are restaurants within walking distance at the yacht club (steakhouse), at the Beardwalk (seafood at The Flying Fish) and at the Swan and Dolphin (Blue, Fresh, etc) as well as numerous places to dine in World Showcase. Nightlife and sidewalk entertainment are a short walk away at the Boardwalk.
THis is a great hotel for almost anyone, with facilites for all ages. It is my favorite Epcot area resort, especially for anyone from teenage years and older. The only time that I would recommend a Magic Kingdom (MK) area resort more highly would be if you have small children and expect to spend most of your time in the MK. Then, the Polynesian, or Grand Floridian or Contemporary are great choices.
This place is romantic for couples or newlyweds, fabulous for teens, and fun for families that enjoy swimming and water activities. A wonderful resort, filled with the best of Disney magic!

Room Tip: Garden view rooms near Epcot are good value and very convenient to Epcot. Rooms near the lobby and S...
