Beautiful hotel - but service needs a big upgrade. I've been a Disney traveler for years and have stayed at several hotels on and off property and I have to admit that I was most disapointed by this hotel. The location was fabulous - you could walk to Epcot and to Hollywood Studios, but transportation anywhere else was a crapshoot. You didn't know if you were going to be waiting 30 minutes (or 45 like we did once coming back from Blizzard Beach) or if it would be easier to take a cab. Our big complaint was mousekeeping. Really disapointing. The room was never really cleaned. Dirty dishes were left in the room, there was mold or mildew on the walls in the bathroom that were never wiped down, there was old gum left in the trashbag from the day before - I just have to say it was really disappointing. We're already looking forward to our next trip - but we both have decided we will not stay at the Boardwalk again. Come on Mouseketeers - live up to your Disney standard, becaue this trip - it really didn't.

We spent 4 nights at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn recently. Previously, we’ve stayed on property at a moderate resort, but on this trip we wanted to try a deluxe resort. After exploring all our options, we chose the Boardwalk because of its atmosphere and the proximity to so many other resorts and parks.

We arrived very early in the morning to check in and went immediately to the online check in counter. (We had checked in on line before we ever left home!) We were greeted immediately by a very friendly cast member who had our welcome packet waiting for us. She explained the dining plan, gave us our keys and we were on our way within minutes.

Our room was great – comfortable, nice size, plenty of closet space and shelf space, nice flat screen TV, couch, small balcony overlooking a courtyard. You could even see Spaceship Earth and the Eiffel Tower over at Epcot. The bathroom setup was very practical – two sinks with lots of shelf space outside the bathroom. In the bathroom was the toilet and shower/tub. With three adults in one room, this arrangement allowed us to get ready very efficiently in the mornings and still have privacy in the bathroom.

The main resort pool was closed for refurbishment so we used one of the quiet pools. It was indeed quiet -- a simple, nice sized pool in one of the courtyards. It was all we needed for a cool relaxing dip in the pool followed by a warm soak in the hot tub after a day of playing at the parks.

The Boardwalk itself is an enjoyable atmosphere. A few shops and places to eat. It’s a nice place for a stroll. You can rent a surrey bike (quadricycle) and go for a ride around the lake. There’s a dance hall and a dueling piano bar. All in all, a very fun atmosphere for a hotel.

The location is excellent! From our room, we were a very easy 5 minute walk to Epcot’s rear entrance right between England and France in the World Showcase. We were also about a 15-20 minute walk along a dedicated path to the Hollywood Studios. Just across the lake are the Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts, along with the Swan and Dolphin hotels. You can even walk to one of Disney’s miniature golf courses. Having so much clustered in one area provided many great things to do. We went to the Dolphin for dinner at Schula’s one night. You could easily go to Beaches and Cream (an ice cream parlor) over at the Beach Club. And… if you want to save your walking for the theme parks, they run boats regularly between the resorts and theme parks at the Boardwalk. So you can ride to Epcot or Hollywood Studios and back (or any of the neighboring resorts). That convenience to two of Disney’s theme parks and other resorts was a HUGE perk of staying at the Boardwalk!

The only real downside to staying at the Boardwalk is the lack of a good counter service restaurant. There are plenty of good full-service options, but we often didn’t want to spend that kind of money. And the proximity to two theme parks and other resorts means that you can enjoy their dining options with relative ease. But so many of Disney’s other resorts have great counter service restaurants that offer a variety of foods and less expensive options than the full-service places. We missed that at the Boardwalk. That would be our only real suggestion to improve the Boardwalk – offer a good counter service place to eat. Because of that, there really wasn’t a good quick and inexpensive place for breakfast or an evening meal.

Sadly, there just wasn’t enough time to enjoy it all. We never got to enjoy the health club or any of the restaurants. It’s Disney… so went spent most of our days at the theme parks and other attractions. But we would certainly go back to the Boardwalk again and look forward to staying there for longer someday!

Stayed here for our 3rd time in October during the food and wine festival for 7 nights. Decided to book the concierge service just as we did the previous visits. When we arrived to the hotel, there was no one standing outside waiting for us to take us to our room. We walked in and asked for concierge and we went to go stand in line. We were walked to our room which was one of the garden view suites. It was in a nice quiet area next to the quiet pool. Our room was nice. We enjoyed the split level, which is great if you are traveling with more than 2 people for the 2 bathrooms and mini kitchenette area. After checking out our room, we went up to the concierge lounge and the lady working that afternoon of 10/18 was a complete and total jerk. We asked for a drink and she acted like she was put out. We've never experienced that before while staying concierge (as we have at least 6 times on Disney property) and we were completely shocked by her reaction. We let it go......a few days later we had a problem with one of the toilets not flushing and were told it was our fault that we used too much paper. Wrong, we used the exact same amount each time and didn't have an issue until the 3rd day. Drains in sinks were very slow as well as the jacuzzi tub....I suspect that was also our fault.
We love the boardwalk area and it is super convenient for the parks, but I'm afraid this hotel staff needs to attend customer service training. The magic is truly lacking....especially for what we paid.

My daughter and I and our 2 good friends stayed here for one night November 30 and checked out December 1st. We were the last of a group of 18 that vacationed at Disney from Thanksgiving day. We all spent the first 5 night at Port Orleans - Riverside. 12 of the 18 of us left Tuesday, November 30th. 6 of us were staying. 2 stayed at a different resort and the 4 of us decided to move to the Broadwalk on the concierge level. On a prior visit, we stayed at the Grand Floridian on the concierge level and really enjoyed ourselves.
We checked into the Boardwalk Tuesday afternoon and were led to our room by Pete. He seemed more interested in telling us about his brother's employment than the room. When we first opened the door, we were hit with and extreme mildew smell. The air conditioning was on and the room was extremely cold. Pete left and we got settled. We discovered that garbage from a prior guest was left under the sink nad there was taffy left laying around on the floor. Also, the trim around one of the windows was hanging and bottom of the door frame was rotted. As we stayed in the room, the mildew smell was so bad we decided to call maintenance. The gentleman came and started a dehumidifier that stayed on the entire length of our stay. It's a good thing none of us need quiet when we sleep as it was quite loud. The mildew smell never went away. We made use of the concierge level food and drink and it was quite good. However, we stayed in the Garden Suites and the room for the food and drink was a distance away.
As we were sitting around the pool at about 4:30pm, a woman entered our room. We thought she may be checking on the dehumidifier so we just stayed by the pool. When we returned to the room, it had been tuned down (including the sleeper sofa in the living room). Now this was 4:30. We had to fold the bed back up so we had somewhere to sit when we were in the room. Also, the 2 others that stayed from our party came to visit. We had just come back from the 5-7 refreshments on the concierge level. There were no refreshments out after 7 so we decied to show the 2 people (my friend's nephew and his girlfriend) that stayed extra the great benefit of staying on the concierge level. At the Boardwalk, one can watch the Epcot fireworks from the balcony of the Inn Keepers Suite. We knew there would be no refreshments out as they ended at 7 and would not start again until 8 so we took our guests to the concierge room. Pete was stationed at the desk as we walked by, He said "oh, you have more people?" We stated that we had met them at the hotel and watned to show them the Inn Keepers room. He went on to say that you have to be staying in a Club level room to enter the Inn Keepers Suite. Tehn he backtracked when he realized the time and said go ahead. We decided to go back to our room and visit. Our guests left and we went back to the Inn Keepers room for Dessert and Cordials and to see the fireworks. They were closing at 10 but there were still about 10 of us in the room. Pete came in and starting turning lights off and taking everything away. We felt rushed as did the other people there with us. I understand taking teh food away but why could be not finish what we had? This experience was so so different that the Grand Floridian. I don't even know how these 2 hotels can be in the same category.

Wonderful location, beautiful surroundings, but just enough clueless employees in need of retraining to lower the overall standard of good service found here and unfortunately to act as a minor irritation throughout our stay as well as to detract from the many good employees working there. Maid service was poor. Maid did not clean coffee pot and left clumps of dried creamer in the bottom of "supposedly" washed and changed coffee mugs. No daily room check by her resulted in several burnt out light bulbs upon arrival and constantly sticking flush toilet handle that let the toilet run throughout the stay. Front desk personnel listened to my complaints but gave no active feedback to have maid correct them. A maintenance department call did bring someone with one light bulb although 2 were reported as out. The Front Desk person running the online check-in window that was suppose to "breeze you through your registration process" took longer than the regular front desk check-in and was no help with the Disney packet she was bragged about online to "review" with the guest. An example of not really caring about detailed service was the telephone key overlay for one-key dialing of hotel departments was different from what the actual numbers represented. A call to the Bell Station was answered by Alamo Rental Car and another to Housekeeping brought a recording from entertainment ticket services. We ended up placing all calls through the hotel operator. A Front desk person did not know their own lounge sold the same coffee that she directed my wife to go one block down on the boardwalk to a bakery to buy. Each incident was not enough grief to actually ruin a vacation but was still a very surprising number of poorly informed employees found under one roof considering the hefty daily occupancy rate of this hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times and have been lucky to get one of the cottages behind the main hotel building on 2 occasions.

I had very little time in my room because I was there on business but the room was very quiet, so sleep came easily.

One complaint I have is that on one occasion there was a large bag of dirty laundry left outside my door for about 24 hours, it was removed after I complained. The other complaint I have is that I brought back some deserts on a plate and the cleaning person emptied the contents but left the dirty plate and napkin on the table outside my cottage for about 24 hours. It was removed after I complained.

There was a jacuzzi in my room that worked, well sort of. The water was shooting out of one part of it that it was not supposed to come out of. I complained about this but did not have the opportunity to see if was fixed.

I would still stay there again. I have stayed in a few Disney properties for leisure and for business and this one is my favorite.

I am a HUGE Disney fan and i am always there. when i go to Disney i always stay on property and i always stay at the Boardwalk. when i checked in they told me that i have stayed there over 90 times!!! so that goes to show how much i enjoy the resort. Disneys boardwalk is just amazing. it has so much to offer. its great for adults and kids. The room are so nice and the beds are amazing. i always get a good nights sleep there. i love the pool there. it is so big and has a slide to match the pools massive size. it also has a kiddie pool for the younger swimmers, and right next to the kiddie pool is a small playground with slides for the kids, for adults they have a bar next to the pool. it also serves food. i also love the actual boardwalk. its loaded with stores and reastraunts. at night the boardwalk comes to life. it had arcade games and magicians. it also has a dance hall for those 21 and up. something else that i love about the resort is the location. you can literally walk to Epcot ( and at night you can see the fireworks from boardwalk). and if you want to go to hollywood studios then just take a short boat ride over. the Boardwalk is an amazing place with an amazing staff that make sure that you are having a magical experience.
