Requested an early check in which was granted, checked in to a very clean and comfortable room. Spacious just what I needed to unwind. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating.Gave information on the area and also warning about certain food delivery restaurants. More

The room was very clean and the people at the front desk was so very kind to us. There was a very nice young lady named Tifferney B She treated my disabled son with respect and dignity Will vacation there again. TGIF restaurant was amazing and the breakfast was delicious. Also the shuttle was very nice useful I had a lady driver who drove us back from Disney and by accident I gave her a twenty dollar bill which I thought was a couple of singles the next morning she came to the hotel looking for me. We ran in into each other and she returned my money soo sweet of her. Will vacation there again.

Hugely disappointed with the Holiday inn opposite Universal studios- I wouldn’t recommend at all! No more than an overpriced naff old Motel! Horrible grim brown gloss decor & corridors etc, just like something from an old 70’s movie! Rooms all smelly - damp, musty & noisy. We moved rooms twice & realised after the third room that they were all going to be same & I know I could’ve paid the same for a better hotel. The maid service was awful, never had the bed changed once in 10 days! Often had no coffee or cups & had to ask at reception. Tissues not replaced & bin even left Un-emptied! No hot water regularly! Usually from evening onwards! Bathroom floor not cleaned once, I could go on. One maid was Spanish speaking & couldn’t understand a word of English, not ideal in the worlds most visited tourist spot surely? I could go on with the petty stuff as it was relentless but the hotel staff were all fabulous, super friendly & polite etc. We choose the Holiday inn based on all the ones we’ve stayed in before in the UK & abroad but this was nothing like!! It must be the excepted standard in the US though I doubt it! Thoroughly disappointed in the hotel but overwhelmed by Universal studios! Utterly immense! A must visit!

Great experience and stay! Location to Universal is perfect if you need to use a shuttle it's available but I prefer the walk, less than a 15 minute walk. Took my youngest son to Universal for his spring break, we had a blast! When we arrived back at the hotel my room was always clean and ready for us to relax from a day at the parks. I didn't rent a car just used UBER from and to the airport, everything we needed was within walking distance. There is a Walgreens, Golden Corral, Burger King, and Mcdonald's just across the street. There is a TGI Friday's located in the Hotel and my son loved eating there also. So if you are looking for a relaxing and carefree getaway I highly recommend this Holiday Inn & Suites across from Universal Orlando!

We were very pleased with this hotel. Perfect location and directly across from Universal Studios. The hotel is in need of minor upgrades but clean and comfortable. The staff were beyond helpful and Carlos was a wealth of knowledge answering our many questions with a smile on his face. There is free shuttle service to/from Universal so all you need to do is park your car (free) and leave it there.
Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We had a suite and the kitchen,fridge and microwave were all clean. Pool area was nice as well. The on-site restaurant is a "Fridays", which is open early for breakfast and closes late for late night snacks/cocktails.
We were very please with this hotel and would definitely stay again.

I have read through previous reviews and always noted the managers responses. Before I start this review I urge the manager to actually do something and stop defending the hotel.
Good points - front desk staff are pleasant.
Bad points - everything else.
1. Housekeeping - completely useless, they don't vacuum rooms or dust, sometimes they replace towels and coffee, sometimes they don't. Corridors never get vacuumed, I saw the same dirt day after day(unfortunatley I booked to stay here for 2 weeks!)
2. Duvets are old and ripped
3. Towels can be ripped and worn
4. Rooms are very tired
5. Lifts are horrible
6. Pool area - furniture is worn , dirty and tired.
Front desk told me that as the hotel is always full, there is never enough time to refurb the hotel. Why though can't towels, duvets, mattresses, furniture be replaced when dirty and worn.
As I said at the start , why can't the manager keep on top of standards and ensure the hotel and it's rooms are kept clean, why can't he ensure worn towels, sheets and duvets are replaced. I thought hoilday Inn were a respectable brand of hotel, I will never visit another one again, if this is the standard set. I have visitedany hotels from 5 star to budget and this was th dirtiest hotel I have had the misfortune to visit. Very poor holiday Inn, very poor.
