“A Very Nice Resort”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

We stayed April 18 to 25/13. 4 adults and 3 children stayed comfortably in a 2-bdrm suite. The rooms are very nicely decorated and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. An added bonus for us was the screened in balcony with table and chairs for us to enjoy our morning coffee on. Housekeeping came everyday to clean up the place and did an adequate job. The property is very large and spread out so we really appreciated the shuttle service to drive us to the different locations on the property. We found staff to be super friendly everywhere.

We were a little disappointed with the sound barrier between floors. Our room was on the second level and we were greatly surprised by a visit from hotel security addressing a noise complaint from the guests below us regarding too much running around. We were very surprised since the kids were not overly running around...only kids playing. From that point on it was somewhat less enjoyable to be in our suite as we were always needing to be mindful of how easy it was to disturb other guests.

We have 3 suggestions for improvement for hotel management to consider. The first is to add a clothesline or more wall or door hooks to dry wet bathing suits and towels. The second is to consider upgrading the decor in the main lobby. The lobby decor is rather unimpressive and seems inconsistent with what one might expect from the Sheraton brand. And the 3rd suggestion is to make navigation on the property more conducive to unfamiliar guests (besides the printed maps) by adding more visible signs on property to indicate where/which amenities are located.

We recently stayed in a lovely 2 bedroom condo (Cascades property) at the Sheraton Vistana Resort. The location is perfect. It is right across the highway from the entrance to the Disney theme parks (it took approx. 5 minutes to drive from our front door to the parking lot at Epcot--approx. 10 minutes to get to the Magic Kingdom and 2 minutes to Downtown Disney). There are plenty of restaurants and other conveniences (including a Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks directly across the street) near the property. The resort even has a mini-grocery store on site and I was able to pre-order groceries and snacks which were The check in process was very easy (THANKS-Ross Molnar!) and the resort was quick to bring extra towels, sheets, etc. within minutes of calling the front desk. The property itself is very big and very well maintained. My family would not hesitate to return to the Sheraton Vistana Resort.

Room Tip: We stayed at the Cascades property and they were very nice. There are others on the property that d...

I stayed here the last week of April with my adult daughter. We exchanged through RCI for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit. This resort is made up of mostly older timeshare units that have been remodeled. Our unit was huge! Unfortunately, the view we had was that of another unit across a narrow pathway, so sitting on the screened patio was not very enticing. We felt very safe throughout the resort. There is visible security and gates at various checkpoints around the resort. Several pools are available. I was unhappy to (due to knee problems) to find out our unit would have no jacuzzi, and that I would be unable to upgrade to a unit with one (offering to pay for the upgrade). If the resort had been at full capacity, I would have understood, but it was obviously not. As has been stated before about this resort, customer service doesn't seem to want to go the extra mile. Of course they didn't hesitate to offer me the free breakfast and timeshare sales meet! Over the years, we have stayed at the HGVC's, Marriott, Bonnet Creek, the Houses at Summer Bay, to name a few. This resort was no comparison, and I feel there would be no reason to return to Vistana

Thanks for choosing the Sheraton during your recent RCI Exchange. We are very sorry to learn you were unhappy with your villa location.
At best, the resort was running its fullest occupancy during these days and we regret to learn about the challenges with your knee.

Your comments are valuable to our Management Team and we can assure you, our caring staff pride themselves to go above and beyond, especially when assisting guests. Again, please accept our sincere apologies for not granting you a free upgrade or room change you considering our high occupancy period. We are hopeful you will return someday to explore villas with Jacuzzis and an amazing experience

Wishing you a safe summer

Sincerely
Resort Management Team

Stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort with my husband and two children 11yrs and 8yrs. We were in the Lakes building.. Very clean , incredibly spacious and updated two bedroom unit.. We loved both the Cascades and Fountains Pool area. Plenty for the kids to do at the Resort.. Fun games and activities.. 10-15 mins to Disney attractions .. Close to a Super Walmart. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly.. I would deffinately recommend this resort to my friends and family!!

Stayed here in mid April and very impressed. Everything looked new and very clean. We had a two bed/two bath villa for four nights and opted for the 'green' no clean options it was slightly cheaper.
Great place if you like tennis - loads of courts which were free of charge and never busy. The pools were also nice and warm.
Good location - easy to get to Disney parks and lots of restuarants nearby.

I grew up going here as my parents had a timeshare here. My husband and I came from April 22-28th with our 4.5 and 2 year old. I debated trying somewhere else this time, just to see what else is out there, but have been so happy in the past and know what I'm going to get. We got the 2 bedroom condo in the Cascades, which is the location I requested due to the ages of our children and the proximity to the cascade pool which has a large kiddie area with fountains, a bar/grill, and is still nearby to Zimmie's restaurant and the marketplace. In hindsight, I would've picked the Falls area since we spent most of our time at that pool and playground. The Falls playground has sand which my 2 year old loves more than the pool and the falls pool has the slide which was great for my 4.5 year old. All the pools have a kiddie pool, which both kids enjoy. The benefit of the falls area was that it was never that busy and we always got a table and chairs to sit at (then brought lunch or snacks usually). Cascades was always VERY busy. I always forget that the pool water is heated too, which is a plus on cooler nights. Anyway, the condo itself was as nice as always. Daily housekeeping, plenty of towels, perfect sunroom where we ate all our meals. Did not eat once at the dining room table. We had a nice view of the different ponds with plenty of ducks, toads, and cranes. At the resort, you are within walking distance to Walgreens, Wendy's, and Chick-Fil-A which we did walk to. The kids were able to feed the ducks twice as they provide machines that have food in them for a quarter. We were also able to easily walk to the other area of the resort that had the fountains and lakes area which we've stayed in previously. All areas have different set-ups with their pools and playgrounds. The only advice would be to avoid the business center (in the cascades area) and all phone calls (we only had one, the rest were messages-left without the phone ringing) regarding the timeshares. I walked through the business center on our last day to return towels to the pool area (took a short cut) and the very nicely dressed workers were already on me about if we did the timeshare talk. I would never get a timeshare, but to each his own. A few other things, food at Zimmies is mediocre for the prices, Cascades was pretty good. We checked in around midnight and check in was smooth sailing. We needed a crib and high chair which were delivered to our room within minutes of us getting our luggage in our room. My husband and I thought the beds were awful, not comfortable at all the first few days, but not sure if we just got used to them or were so tired, the last few days we had no trouble sleeping on them. The king sized bed didn't have a fitted sheet on it either. It was just a flat sheet laid over the mattress, so very awkward when it kept getting wrinkled and bunched under you. Downtown Disney and the Disney parks/resorts are very close by, which I don't feel like many non-Disney condo complexes are. There are plenty of hotels in the area, but Vistana is probably you're best bet if you want all the amenities and still be very close by. I always do my shopping at the super wal-mart down the road since I can get all the groceries (fresh deli) and sunblock/diapers nice and cheap. Overall, I may pick some place different, just to see what else is out there if I didn't have our kids with us, but this place was made for us and the kids with all the pools/playground options, so we will probably never go somewhere else.

We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana the week of April 20th. We had booked a 2 bedroom villa and a few weeks before coming, phoned and requested a ground floor room, close to a pool, away from the highway. When we checked in, that is exactly what we got! We stayed in Building 5 in the Cascades. Great location within the resort, extremely close to the Cascades pool anf the marketplace (which had a Starbucks!) The only downfall with the check in process is that there is a long wait to check in. It's not the resorts fault as it appeared they had all staff going at full force, it is just that everyone seems to check in at the same time.
The room itself was great and had plenty of room and was overall very clean. It was great that we had a washer and dryer. The jacuzzi tub in the master suite was very large and was awesome for soaking your tired feet after a long day of walking in the parks. I had read some reviews prior to coming that you can hear a lot of noise from the above units but we didn't hear anything at all from other units.
We set aside an entire day of our trip to enjoy the ammenities onsite. We went to the pool and we went to go get towels but they had none left. After almost an entire hour they finally got some. It was really frustrating as we had no way to dry off. We were very tempted to get the towels from our room and we were just about to when the new towels came.
My son really enjoyed the Fishpipe but its quite expensive ($12) for only a couple of minutes. It would be nice if they had a better deal for this.
Another great benefit is that it is literally only 5 minutes and one turnoff from Disney! It's also very convenient to the highway that takes you to Universal.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone and will absolutely here again when we come back to Orlando.

It is a delight to read your positive and encouraging comments shared with Trip Advisor.
Thank you for choosing the Sheraton to create your life time memories.

Please accept our apologies for the towel supply – during the Spring Break, while we experienced over 10,000 guests on property..Our staff was very proud to offer their expertise and assistance.

We have heard your comments and we appreciate your input on the newest amenity, the Fish Pipe. Still receiving rave reviews, but not about the cost, only the enjoyment of the water ride. Yours will be discussed for consideration.

Thanks again for being understanding the long wait during your check in. You have our pledge; as we would like to perfect the check in experience soon.

We look forward to welcome you again soon.

Best Wishes
