“Difficult to find, well worth it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

This restaurant is hidden in the back on the left in the main lobby of the hotel. We only went for breakfast. You can order the buffet or single dishes off the menu. We ordered from the menu and the selection was decent and the food was excellent. It was a little pricey, but not bad. Our server was very polite and quick, but we never felt rushed. They left the coffee carafe on the table, which is a nice touch. The atmosphere is quiet and very nice.

“Excellent food if a bit exotic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

We loved the meals here and in fact dined here twice on our holiday but we like trying new and different things. Other members of the family who like plain food did not go and I feel it was a good thing not for the steak and chips people!!

“Overlooked but Excellent”

The most fresh food I've ever had was here. This is overlooked due to its location at the lobby level, but the food is mostly organic, very fresh and very good.

“Fantastic for a long relaxing top-quality breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

Having heard good things about the Wave's buffet breakfast, we decided to give it a try and we weren't disappointed. The Wave is on the ground (first) floor of the Contemporary resort so if you are coming from the Ticket & Transportation Centre take the resort monorail, and if you are coming from another Disney hotel via the motorcoaches, again take the resort monorail at Magic Kingdom or - better still - walk along the pathway to the hotel, it only takes 5 - 10 minutes.

MY 21 y/o daughter and I always enjoy the frenetic, noisy atmosphere of Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace and we love a buffet breakfast too but decided that for once it would be nice to have something a little calmer and the Wave did us proud - so much so that we cancelled a booking for CP to return there another morning.

The restaurant isn't strongly themed, and it has no views or gimmicks or characters waving napkins, but it is cool, subdued, and spacious and the staff are professional, efficient and always pleasant to deal with and so if you are looking for an 'all you care to eat' style breakfast featuring quality foods in a relaxed, non hurried atmosphere then the Wave might be for you. Both times we dined there (around 10am) the restaurant was uncrowded and even though there were several parties with youngsters, it was not noisy. Fresh food continued to be put out throughout our time there (last breakfast booking is around 11 am I think) and at no time did we feel that 'eat up and get out of there' vibe coming from the servers.

You can choose buffet or a la carte here and on both our visits the food knocked the socks off of the other breakfast buffets we have sampled. Okay so there may not be as vast an array of dishes as at some of the character meals but there was more than enough and everything was fresh. Particular mentions go to the wonderful sweet potato pancakes (try them with the maple pecan butter), the gorgeous buttery-tasting housemade granola, and the delicious key lime eggs benedict which like Mary Poppins were practically perfect in every way! Whatever you want for breakfast it's here from oatmeal to yogurt, to sausages, bread pudding, to fresh fruit, to Mickey Waffles, all kinds of freshly baked pastries and more.

Can't wait to go back!
