My family drove a long way from Canada, and the staff were kind and quick to help us with our baggage. The hotel was beautiful, and there was excellent service, although the internet is a bit faulty. We wished parking didn't cost money but you do park in a garage so my dad was very happy that nothing would happen to his car. Our room was very spacious, and we stayed in the regular guest room. The TV mirror had me amazed for the whole trip, and the bathroom itself is pretty big. The restaurants are delicious and they are worth a try. Overall our stay was very relaxing and smooth, we will definitely be returning here every year!

A few months ago the ducks left the Orlando hotel formerly known as the Peabody and the Hyatt name went on the signs. The change has been seamless. Most of the former staff stayed (I asked) and customer service was top-notch. The lobby is gorgeous, Napa restaurant just great, and the staff very gracious. I had a spa service and was impressed by the engaged team; they seemed truly happy. The Hyatt is one of the stops on the trolley so for just a few dollars I was able to go shopping at the Premium Outlets. The trolley also goes to Sea World. There are nearby dining options, too, and nearby shopping such as Chico's and Tommy Bahama. When going back to Orlando, I'll definitely stay again at this Hyatt.

Room Tip: My corner room on the 23rd floor had a balcony and nice patio furniture

I have a love hate with this hotel. 1. I do not like the check in times. I realize most of the hotels in the area are like this but you usually pay over $150/night for less than 24 hrs. (Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am, late check is at 1pm which is still less than 24 hrs. 2. You should have an option to pay the "resort fees" which is just a ploy to suck more money out of you. We have stayed at this hotel many times when it was the Peabody and they had all the same amenities that were for free. We weren't there long enough to enjoy anything that came with the resort fee so it was a waste of $40. 3. The night we stayed is the night daylight savings went in to effect. Needless to say in the morning when we thought we were on time, we were rudely told that it was an hr later and that we needed to "get out as soon as possible." So we took our sweet time gathering our things just because the maid had made that statement. 4. The beds are insanely uncomfortable and the a/c kept shutting of in the middle of the night.

Things we liked:
1. Valet is easy and well worth the money if you are coming and going a lot. 2. Had an issue with ordering room service late night (Yes, they have a way over priced menu that serves until 3 am i think, so be ready to pay $15 for a turkey sandwich.) The manager was very helpful to get things cleared up and took care of the mix up right away. 3. Tv in the mirror in the bathroom is pretty cool. We get a kick out of it every time we stay. 4. Bar staff was super friendly and nice. The bar was pretty busy due to a convention being in town and they were very attentive to everyone. 5. The pool is beautiful and relaxing. We didn't get to use it this trip but had in the past.

Overall its a pretty good hotel although i wish it was still the Peabody. It has turned into one of those robot hotels that are all about making money not making people happy. We will probably look for another hotel to stay at next time we go back.

Room Tip: I would request a room with a view. We have stayed on lower levels before and it is not as pretty. Looking out over the pool is neat. The balconies are nice. If you face the convention center, you can see epcot, Sea World, & the Magic Kingdom. You might even be able to see the fireworks at MK in the late evening!

Katie,

Thank you for your feedback. We've made great strides in working to improve our customers experience including what our guests get for the Resort fee. We've added guestroom internet, several amenities like bikes, fitness classes, and have opened the fitness center 24 hours since Hyatt's come on board.

We understand that the check in and out times can sometimes be tough depending on when you have a flight and while these times are industry standards, we do our best to accomodate anyone past the 1pm mark when we can.

Kate, we'd love the change to bring you back and host you again in Orlando. We believe we have only elevated an already great hotel and want to make sure we prove that to you.

Thank you,
Brian C.

The Hyatt was formerly the Peabody and is the closest hotel to Orlando's massive Convention Center complex. In addition to being across the street from the center, the hotel houses its own large convention space. Hyatt has not made many visible changes to the hotel since taking over but that is okay since the Peabody was a nice property already.

The lobby area is large and modern and houses a large open bar/lounge area with a restaurant below it - both overlooking the pool complex to the left. The check in area is large and check in was fast, but can get crowded during peak hours. There is a diner style restaurant, a coffee shop, a smaller bar/lounge, and a gift shop on the main level as well as the elevators to the two towers. There are plenty of areas to sit and chat in the lobby area overall.

Elevators were quick and readily available. The room was spacious but decorated in a rather drab brown color scheme. Entering the room there was a closet with a safe followed by a mirrored dressing table on one side. The bathroom was on the other side. Bathroom fixtures were modern and of good quality but the bathroom was a bit narrow and the door would not close with the bath mat on the floor. There was a TV in the bathroom mirror which sounds cool, but the remote had water marks on it which did not make me want to pick it up to try it.

The room furnishings were modern but dark. Ample windows brought light in during the day. In room lighting was sufficient with a motion activated light under the bedside tables for night time trips to the bathroom which was a nice touch. Plenty of space to spread out and work or sit and watch TV. Easy access to outlets for charging devices.

Ordered room service once and delivery was prompt with quality of food being good. Prices were on par with hotel room service prices. I did not have a car but noticed that the parking deck was a bit of a walk from the lobby. There are also a few nice restaurants a short walk from the complex.

All in all a nice place to stay when attending a conference with amenities that could keep the family occupied as well.
