“A luxurious hotel, but read the fine-print”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We were excited about staying at this hotel, after becoming familiar with the beautiful Peabody in Memphis, TN. The Orlando hotel was in a great and easy to access area, right next to the convention center. It was very accessible to Universal Studios, which is the primary reason for our spring break vacation.
The room was comfortable, and the beds were super-comfortable. The bathroom was extremely nice and even had a TV inside the mirror, which we'd never seen before. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. There are about 3 restaurants on-site, a few bars, a coffee bar, and gift shop. There are 2 sets of pools, 1 with a waterfall and waterslide. And there were 2 hot tubs. It was a little chilly while we were there, so we were only able to use the hot tub once. We also had our 3 children with us, so it's family friendly. IN fact, the hotel was able to bring us a portable bed so that we had enough beds, for about $20 extra.
However, although my husband & I had spoken to hotel staff by telephone on 2 separate occasions, and were reassured that there was a shuttle provided by the hotel to Universal Studios, so that we wouldn't have to move our car, and pay for parking, we were informed upon checking in, that this was not the case. We were extremely disappointed, because that was 1 of the main reasons we picked this hotel. There was a shuttle, but we'd have to pay for it, and it didn't go as far as Universal Studios. So, in addition to paying $17 per night at the hotel (for non-valet), and $15 per day at Universal Studios, we spent an additional $100, in addition to the hotel's other extra fees that we did not realize we'd have to pay.
All-in-all, the hotel is a really nice hotel, but we probably won't stay here again because of this misunderstanding, which was a really big motivator in making our spring break family vacation plans.

Room Tip: I'm sure any room at this hotel is great. Ours was on the 11th floor, and we had no problems.

We stayed at the Peabody for 5 days for our trip to Sea World and Disney. The hotel was beautiful, clean, and the staff were attentive and polite. The ducks were greatly enjoyed by the kids and the daily free coffee and infused water were much appreciated. The hotel diner also had decent food. We would definitely stay here again!

- Hold key to door sensor to open
- Small closet with 2 thin comfortable robes
- Vanity mirror with chair for makeup, hairstyling, ect. (Small enlarger mirror with light)
- Narrow but spacious bathroom with TV built in mirror
- Large updated tv on nice tropical wood dresser with glass top and hidden small fridge underneath and 6 dresser drawers
- Charging dock with speakers for iPhone/iPod
-Same style headboard as dresser with comfortable cushion beds
- Beautiful view from 20th floor overlooking pool with GREAT cell reception from within hotel
- 1. Grotto pool with waterfall, 1. large pool catered to children/families, 1. long pool for laps/adults, 1. Kiddie splash area by family side
- Shop with everything you need from toothpaste to bottle of wine and clothes at reasonable prices. (Clothes are the only slightly overpriced items)
- Coffee bar, bar, restaurant, little candy shop, all throughout hotel
- Lost? They have maps throughout hotel like they do at the mall
- Long line at check-in moves much faster than you think
- Right next to shopping mall area with restaurants and there is free Go-cart car service to take you there so you don't have to drive there and pay for parking ... Or just walk if you haven't had a long day
- 2 bottles of water and 2 coffee per room comped per day
- Daily room cleaning if you want
- Order room service from breakfast to dinner with priced menu in room

Cons:
-Charge for parking $16 for unlimited park yourself ...Or...
$26 for valet (both under same parking structure) Parking is
-Resort fee of $10 pp at end of stay
(But, expect these charges at a nice hotel that you know you get what you pay for) you're not allowed to complain when you choose a place like this that's well worth it

...After hotel stay, tax, parking st hotel, resort fee, we ended up paying around $200 a night
...Would've been less costly but we went during spring break, and cheer leading event at hotel, and booked same day

Summary: AWESOME hotel. Worth the cost. Would stay here again but will make sure to book ahead of time, and not during spring break. Discount? Google them and you will find a discount code

Just returned home from 2 nights at Peabody in Orlando while we visited Sea World. Check in was friendly, fast and very informative - the girl at the desk was super nice and really looked to find the best room on a high floor for our family of 5 (3 kiddos). The rooms were a bit on the small side in our tower (Mallard) but it was still fine. 2 DOUBLE (not queen) beds - that still surprises me that any hotel any where has doubles! The linens were great though! Another reviewer commented on the bizzare and akwardness with the bathroom door - AGREE! It should be a pocket door! My three year old loved the massive tub and duck soap, and the older kids thought the in-mirror TV's were awesome. This hotel is massive - grotto pools and very resort-ish feel. We did self park (right beside pool, easy walk) and ate just down the road at Copper Canyon. Very easy to get around, the I-drive Trolly was convenient and made our vacation that much simpler with no driving.

We were there on a Sea World package (2 nights, SW entrance tickets + all day dining) for 5 and it was about 600 bucks total, taxes and service charges in. We were happy with the deal.

Room Tip: Ask for high room on Disney facing side - fireworks for free!

For the money, I didn't feel it was worth it. It's nice enough. But, my chief complaint is that there isn't a coffee maker in the room. Really? In 2013? So, it's OK but there are plenty of other hotels nearby for much less money that are just as nice if not nicer.

Thank you for your sharing your concerns with me regarding our coffee service options. I welcome your feedback as it is valuable when discussing product improvements to better serve our guests. Currently, our Loft Level rooms offer in room coffee as an added amenity. I realize the International Drive area offers a vast choice of accommodations and hope that when your travel plans include Orlando, you will offer us another opportunity to exceed your expectations.

We stayed for 24 nights (that's 24!) at this hotel, which is quite a while to say the least. It's a lovely hotel catering for conference attendees, couples and families alike. We have two criticisms, which people may find trivial, but on past experiences in many hotels around the world we believe them to be valid. Considering the length of time we stayed not once were we contacted by anybody to enquire about our experience at the hotel. Although the staff were very professional when asked for assistance/information we felt that there was nothing personal in the service and that we were just two of a great number of people. Our other problem was that at both swimming pools there was absolutely no shade to sit in when it got very hot - that is unless you were willing to pay $90 dollars per day for a private cabana, which for the two of us we thought a bit steep. Apart from these two issues it's a lovely hotel, which we would highly recommend.

Thank you for selecting The Peabody Orlando as your home away from home. I am pleased that you enjoyed your 24 night stay with us and welcome your feedback on your experiences. I’m happy to read that our staff was available to assist with your needs and I understand your critique on our opportunity to further personalize your lengthily stay with us. I will take this to heart and take action on this observation. I also understand the desire for shade at the pool and have ordered additional umbrellas to increase our current supply. Should you plan a return trip to Orlando, I would be honored to serve as your host hotel.

If you're looking for a nice resort type hotel, where you can relax by the pool Peabody is for you. They have 2 large pools: one with the slides for the younger crowd and one quieter lap pool with the hot tub. Both are heated and clean, with plenty of chairs and fresh towels.
Location is very close to Universal Studios on International Drive, withing walking distance to restaurants. Hotel is very clean and staff are friendly. The only complain was a small bathroom with the weird door opening to the inside, which made getting inside quite challenging. But they have those new mirrors with built-in TV screens, which was a hit with my kids.
Hotels charges $10 per room per stay resort fees and for $16 parking.
Self parking is close, don't go for valet, as I usually saw a long line up of people waiting for car pickup.
