Good clean rooms, near local shops and good park access.

Would return.

I booked this room through Priceline for an on-location photo shoot taking place at a nearby family-oriented kids resort. My client was upgraded with an extra bed at the kids resort, though, and it made sense for me to stay there while shooting.

On the last night of the shoot, I became ill with a terrific headache and the thought of being in a hotel room with screaming kids running up and down the halls made me cringe. I decided to call my original hotel, Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista, and beg for my original room if needed.

It turns out that I didn't have to beg, and Richard and Wendy, who checked me in, couldn't have been nicer. I was thrilled to see there was an on-site restaurant (Applebee's) and a well-stocked gift shop. (On the way to my room, I passed a business center with several people using the provided computers, as well as an arcade.)

My room - which I believe was just a standard room - was huge! Two queen beds, a small table and two chairs, a desk and another chair, a chest of drawers, and a luggage stand large enough to fit my monster suitcase. Everything was clean and polished and the overall feel was of cleanliness and comfort.

Both of the beds tended towards the firm side but they were very comfortable; the blanket was perfect - not too thick and not too thin - kept me at a very comfortable temperature. I tried both the firm and soft pillows, and ended up using the soft. Just right for burrowing into for a good nights sleep.

Like everything else, the bathroom was clean, well appointed and in good repair. Basic toiletries were supplied - soap, shampoo and lotion. I thought the exclusion of conditioner was kind of odd, but no matter since I pack my own.

Room service was friendly and prompt. The lunch and dinner menu is quite extensive and served from their onsite restaurant Applebee's. The breakfast menu was a bit more limited, however, although I found my breakfast platter of eggs, toast, sausage, coffee, milk and juice to be tasty and filling. I did have to send my glass of milk back because somehow coffee grounds ended up in it, but they had two carton pints of milk delivered to my door very quickly.

I didn't swim in the pool, but I did stroll the grounds and found the pool to be large and very inviting. Plenty of people were sunbathing on the many chaise lounges and swimming but the area didn't seem crowded at all.

Check in and check out was fast and efficient - even enjoyable thanks to the friendly front desk staff. My bill was accurate but best of all, it wasn't huge!

We travel to this area a few times a year and although we usually stay with family, I think that in coming trips, we'll be staying here.

I was afraid after this hotel was assigned to me in one of those Priceline deals. I started to read the reviews and got kind of scared. There was no way to change it so we had to stay there wether we wanted to or not. To my surprise it was much better than I thought! The rooms are totally remodeled. They have a mini-fridge and microwave and the beds... ohhhhh the beds! The beds were a dream! We stayed here for one quick night because the next day we were switching to a Disney Resort for 3 more nights. Well, guess what? for all those 3 days we kept missing the Holiday's beds! We did not go to the pool and the only thing that got us a bit concerned was a little "friendly" booklet that the front desk gives out letting you know all the things you "should" do to have a safer trip... lock your doors, don't leave things in your car, and the list goes on... we were like.. Ooookey? And mainly because the area seems nice. We never got to the pool nor went to the applebees. Overall, it was a nice stay and a lot more comfortable than I had expected!

We stayed here for 2 nights a few weeks ago. We got a great rate for a holiday weekend, and we were put in one of the newly renovated rooms. This room was huge - much bigger than most hotels. Everything was nice and new, and it was great to have a fridge and microwave in the room. Our room was very quiet, but we were away from the pool area. Lobby was nice with a mini theater and an Applebee's adjoining it. This hotel is only a 5 - 10 minute drive to Downtown Disney and very close to the Disney parks. The only down-side was the parking area in the back - not so nice.

Room tip: Ask for the newly renovated rooms when making your reservation

thank goodness I booked this through priceline because I would not pay a penny more than what I did . The room was typical Holiday Inn. The pool was nice enough, albeit boring..no fun slides or anything..I was there with my best friend and daughters and we had fun since we were there together,,, they really should play some festive music. Our shower had no shower curtain, I called housekeeping , they sent one up quickly, but the young man handed it to me , turned around and left! lol...okk..If you want a low key place to stay if you are going to the parks, this place is fine...there are better places for sure.

Room tip: do not pay full price for this place, not worth it.
