“Totally fine for what it is”
Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at the All Star Movies for one night prior to our Disney cruise. I did not have terribly high expectations, but was pleased with what we saw. We must have been in one of the refurbished rooms in the Love Bug wing. The room plenty big for two of us for one night. It was clean and well maintained. Walking did not bother us at all - expect to do lots of walking when visiting Disney. The theming at the hotel is really fun and we spent some time exploring the whole place taking pictures. Just relax - you're on vacation! Had my first ever Mickey waffle at the food court. It was busy, but easily able to find tables for us and the whole family (9 in all) in the morning. I probably would choose something else for just two of us for a week at the parks, but this certainly was fine for what we needed.

Accommodating staff but the room are extremely tiny - and the price per night was that of what we paid to stay at the Marriott or Gaylord Palms which is very close to magic kingdom. A great place for families going to Disney on a budget - but if it's a tight budget - then go off season. $145+ per night to me is not a bargain! Also, our key card to our room/door kept getting reset and would lock up out, which they said "happens all the time and daily". Disney - with all your $$$$ you need to take care of the hotel doors for your guests. We waited 2 hours for the door to get fixed and with a small child who needed a nap - inside from the heat was very aggravating. Staff does offer many apologies and has the overall Disney Kindness/Attitude, but that's about it.

Room Tip: Rooms are VERY tiny - especially if you are a family of 4-5. NO ROOM TO MOVE AROUND! we kept bumping...

A group of us had 5 rooms at this resort. While our room was fine except for a curtain that separates the sink area from the bedroom proper. It was half down...an easy fix that just wasn't.

Some of the others had unbelievable problems. One couple's air conditioner went out while at a park. When they returned to the room at midnight, the room was unbearably hot. After an hours wait, a maintenance man arrived. He said that the air conditioner could not be fixed right away and asked if they would move to another room. They agreed. However, they were expected to pack all their belongings at about 1:10 AM to do this. After arguing with the front desk for about 20 minutes, the resort manager agreed to allow them to move to another room and keep their belongings in the original room. They moved to that room only to find several of the room amenities missing.

Another one of the group had a leaky bathtub...water running all the time. His mattress should have been replaced as it was lumpy. None of the rooms had working refrigerators. One of the elevators in our section did not work properly. Its door simply opened and closed. We had to use the stairs a few times. We were on the third floor with a baby and a stroller.

It is time for Disney to do a major overhaul on this resort. If we return to Disney World, we will not be staying at this here.

Room Tip: Choose another resort.

This was our family's second stay at the All Star Movies resort this past year. We enjoyed our second stay as much as our first. The rooms are not huge by any means, but they are well organized, and we were comfortable there for a 10-day stay. We are a family of three, so that might make a difference in terms of space (a family of four might find the room a bit cramped). We appreciate the overall cleanliness of the resort, the friendliness of the staff, and the security. This is a great place to stay with young children. My daughter is 9 years old and still enjoys the resort. Families with older children (12 years and above) might find the resort a bit noisy because there are lots of little children staying here.

Room Tip: If you are staying in a standard room, request the Mighty Ducks section, which has its own pool and...

I was very nervous about staying at this resort after reading some recent reviews here but was very pleasantly surprised. From check in to check out - everything went smoothly. Our room was very clean upon arrival and although not in new condition, everything was acceptable. There was no smell and the air conditioner was working very well. Each day when we returned our room was fully stocked with many towels and toiletries (we wrote a note each day requesting 6 towels and leaving a tip). Our children were delighted when their Minnie and Goofy stuffed animals were in different fun poses each day when we returned. This surely added to the magic. All staff was very friendly and helpful. The food court was better than expected. Our family especially enjoyed the pizza. We stayed in the Mightly Ducks section and it was extremely quiet. We took the bus from the resort next door as it was closer to our room. The wait time was not all that bad, although it was very hot. I think where these resorts are lacking is shelter while waiting for the bus. If you are going to be at the parks late each night and are looking for an affordable, clean place to lay your head, this resort is for you. If you are expecting The Hilton, you might want to up your budget to a moderate or Deluxe resort.

We booked this hotel based on a Jet Blue package and the agent working with us said this was a nice place. Well it is very old and one would think they would update this place. Even a family on a budget deserves better, small rooms, no door for the bath/dressing area a curtain and the place looks like Walt Disney stayed there just that old. Crazy lock on door and certainly not a place you would want your children to stay in. When we complained they were at lost as to what the problem was telling us if we upgraded it would cost more. We will never return to Disney World this hotel was a hot mess and overall it is way over priced for what you get. They push this saying you are staying on campus or on Disney property this is a big joke I guess that is why I could not stop laughing after realizing we would spend the night. It was hard to believe I had been such a fool. Even at the lower price your guest deserve better in a minute you won't have any guest.

Room Tip: Don't check in, there is no fitness center or room service oh unless you count the fitness as yo...

Stayed here for 5 nights and it was an awful experience. Found roaches and other bugs in my room. Tiny uncomfortable room, no magic here. Even experienced terrible sewer smell early mornings and nights in the room. Not much of a magic considering it's on the Disney grounds. This was my family's first visit to Disney and trust me WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!
