“Disney mood”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

If you want a hotel with all facilities and just a minute of the parks that's a good choice. The staff is great, the room is clean and in the Disney mood. A great tip is to buy also the dinning plan package. Fantastic!!!

Room Tip: Choose the room near the swimming pool.

my husband and i took our 2 year old son to disney. we stayed at the all star movie resort. it was amazing!!! dont let the word "value" scare you off meaning cheap, it was far from it. everyone was so helpful, nice and the rooms were clean!!! its disney can you expect anything less then perfection?? it was just an awesome stay and great bang for the buck!!! the beds were actually comfortable, and the rooms actually had space in them, not hobit sized rooms. when the rooms were cleaned ( daily) they would arrange my sons toys in a playful way either on his bed or in the window waiting for him!! the buses come right to the hotel and drop you off at the park gates. it was just awesome!!!! i would def recommend going for any type of occasion!

Room Tip: all the rooms are good, but thye do have themes. we stayed in the mighty ducks. they also have toy s...

Stayed at this hotel many times before with no problem. The rooms are small but fine for short stays. Checked in on line picked up keys at the front desk we had a 11 pm arrival. Got a first floor room looked clean went to bed. Got up the next morning went to the park all day back to the room went to bed. Next a.m. started to pack to move to condo for the next 7 days and found COCKROACH'S on the outside of my luggage!! (so glad we were checking out)
Went to the front desk waited in line for 60mins & info the concier about the roaches she said
"we will spray for them" but she didn't ask for my room number or my name!
Can't believe this is a DISNEY HOTEL will not stay again! Really bothered me that they just didn't really CARE!!!

It was our second trip to Disneyworld this time. Previously, we stayed in Disney's All Star Sports Hotel. Basically the layout of All-Star Movie is the same as All-Star Sports, including the hotel rooms too. My kids love it here as the cartoon characters are more familiar to them (Toy Story, 101 dalmatians, Fantasia and Mighty Ducks). As I emphasized in my review in All-Star Sports, it is a Disney hotel after all so children will definitely enjoy their stays here. Plus the additional benefits of free shuttle services and extended park hours. There are individual bus services for each hotels, so there are no issue of difficulty getting a shuttle bus now.
Again the room is a bit small, but we just need it to sleep!
Overall, an inexpensive hotel for the kids to enjoy

Room Tip: Get a room nearer to the shuttle service (Toy Story wing) if you are coming with kids plus strollers...

At one time this was our favorite hotel to stay at. Since 2003 we have stayed at this hotel 6 times and I must say things have gone down hill. First the positive: The hotel has been completely remodeled. The rooms now have new furniture and flat panel TV's. The food court has good food and the prices are not that bad. Get up early because the tables fill up quick. Now for the reality: This is a "budget" or as Disney calls it a "value" hotel. Don't expect anyone to be singing "be our guest, be our guest put our service to the test" here. It has a budget staff and budget management. The employees we dealt with rolled their eyes and sighed and I can tell you the managers were not much better. You can expect very long waits at the concierge desk and even longer waits if you need something like maintenance. In all honesty you can get a hotel room with twice the room with first class service for the same price off property.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money for a preferred room its a very long walk from the back of the hotel.

Hotel room was small but very clean. Decor is true cool Disney. The walk to the buses, food court and front desk was short but, many other problems. Not a hotel to stay at without kids. Stayed here to save because of other extras I spent money on but, never again. Food court was ALWAYS PACKED! They ran out of coffee twice. Were always out of ice. I could never find a seat in the morning. The wait for buses was intolerable. At the park and the hotel. I waited 40 minutes one morning for a bus to Downtown Disney. Disney needs to reevaluate their bus system to accomodate riders with special needs. I suggest one bus for persons with special needs for every three buses for riders without special needs. The system is flawed and riders with all sorts of needs suffer for their shortcomings. Overall the hotel experience was average but, could've been much better. Seems like Disney really places their value resort guests on the back burner. Stayed at Disney's moderate resorts many times and in my opinion, they're worth the extra money you spend.

Room Tip: Ask for the dalmatian rooms which are much quieter and preferably ask for building one if they can p...

We recently stayed at the All Star Movies Resort in the Toy Story section. What a great value staying on Disney property turned out to be! On our previous visit to Disney World in 2009 we stayed off site in a friend's condo. There are advantages to both ways, but I feel staying at a Disney Resort with all the benefits that come with this made for a far more relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Our vacation was only 5 days over Labor Day weekend, but it honestly seemed alot longer. We had the free dining plan as part of our Disney package which was wonderful. There were lots of choices of places to eat in each of the parks as well as Downtown Disney. It does help to research this in advance with books or online for menus etc. We especially loved eating at Wolfgang Puck Express (loved the mac and cheese) in Downtown Disney. Other places we enjoyed eating included the ABC Commissary Restaurant in Hollywood Studios and the Columbia Harbor House (great shrimp) in the Magic Kingdom. We had to pay for very little food other than some beverages and breakfast items. The entire resort is very clean and pleasant including the hotel and grounds. We loved the huge colorful figures of the characters from the movies throughout the resort....fun even for adults! We did eat many of our meals at the restaurant in the resort which had alot of choices for food as well. I will definitely recommend sitting toward the back of the restaurant close to the rear exit as it does not get as crowded there. The restaurant can get very crowded at times, especially for breakfast and dinners, but we still were able to get through the lines quickly with our food. The refillable cup was a nice feature, except for the fact that you cannot get milk or juice with it. Our room was average size and fine for the three of us....you honestly don't need anything bigger or fancier since you really spend very little time in your room. It is silly to pay for a fancy room because the rooms in this resort are more than adequate, clean and such a good value. The room had two double beds, small table, refrigerator, and flat screen TV. The bathroom/sink area has a curtain for privacy. We stayed in the Toy Story Section which was very quiet and close to the main lobbly, buses, pool and restaurant. We did not pay extra either for staying in this section. We had our agent request this section because my adult son has a disability and loves Toy Story and Disney was kind enough to upgrade us at no extra charge. There was no noise at all here during our stay. We were pleased with how everything is taken care of when you stay at a Disney Resort and it makes it so easy to just relax and enjoy the parks. The transportation to the parks from the All Star Movies resort was fairly fast going to the parks each day, however coming home it got very crowded especially late at night after the parks closed. I would say this was really the only negative, but then it still beat having to pay to rent a car to drive to and from the parks each day, park, pay the high parking fee, and fight the traffic both ways which we did during our visit in 2009. I loved the transportation to and from the Orlando airport on the Magical Express...very efficient and organized. On our last day (Labor Day) we were able to check out of the hotel in the morning and store our carry on luggage at the hotel for the day while we enjoyed visiting Animal Kingdom until it was time to go to the airport for our flight. They even will take care of any checked luggage so when you get to the airport you just go through security and get on your flight. We had a great time and would definitely stay at a Disney value resort again!

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor of our building which was very quiet. No noise at all!
