“Discovery Cove”
Reviewed July 29, 2011

I have to say this was a place I had on my calendar as a "must do" the moment I heard about it. Although you can bring infants in and do most things with them, I wanted our first time we went to include my youngest in the dolphin swim as well (6 and up). So 2 days after DS 6th birthday we were there.

This place is a MUST DO! There wasn't anything at all that was wrong, slow, bad, or anything else like that. From the moment you walk in (they snap a photo) you know you are some place special. With everything being included, including food and drink, the sense of relaxation was tops! We had food allergies (taken care of, by them), even when our DS had a special issue, that prevented him from holding the fish to feed the dolphins, they gave him ice cubes to feed them, and they seemed to like them better!

As there is a limit to the number of people in the "park" it is never crowded, and even when we went, it was full, but it didn't feel that way. After a few days at the big "parks' it was so nice to relax in this paradise

The dolphins, were out of this world, you have a set time that you go see the dolphins, and that makes it a very intimate visit with them. The staff teach you a bit about the dolphins as well. It was nice they had people everywhere taking photos of you so we have group shots that are great! The lazy river, was wonderful, the snorkelling, was pretty, but the ray pool- was were we spent most of the time. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves there!

This "park" is suitable for all ages, but if you want the kids to do the dolphin swim they need to be 6.

This is a full day experience, so get there early and leave late! It is very much worth the price of admission

This has now become a regular part of our trips to the Disney area.

“Absolutley loved it!”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

Definitely worth it.. With the tropical atmosphere, you almost forget you are in central florida. Well worth the price, especially if you use the sea world pass that comes with admission to discovery cove. Plus having food and beverages included made the price alot easier to swallow
It was a thoroughly relaxing day..We enjoyed the food, definitely not typical. The staff was very pleasant. The entire place was immaculate. Looking forward to going back
Just don't fall for the picture package they try to sell you, definitely overpriced.

“Relaxing day!”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

Spent a weekday there this week. We were two families with school age children. Arrived early...and everything was easy! No lines, so many people to direct us. Early morning dolphin encounter -had one child unsure about dolphin and they were great with this child!
Great food. Terrific drinks for adults. Reef interesting- not crowded. Kids and adults all enjoyed lazy river- kids smithies through, having a blast. Adults floated through, enjoying the leisurely pace of the day. Surely a luxury at this price point, but a day we will never forget!

“Loved it, worth every penny”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

Let me start by saying that I don't love being in the water and spent must of my day in it. We arrived by eight and got in line for check in, it was speedy and we got a 2:30 dolphin swim. The place is beautiful and you don't notice the thousand people that get in. The breakfast was ok, they had eggs, breakfast potatoes, yucky "plastic" bacon, pancakes, fruit, yougurt, milk, coffee and tea.
Then we went for our vests and package (sorkel, sunblock, goggles) and locker. Went to the lazy river which was beautiful, went through the aviary and really enjoyed it. After that we went to the grand reef (the only place that gets a bit crowded, specially where the stingrays are swimming).
After all that swimming we were ready for a snack, they've got pretzels, chips, ice cream, granola bars, fruit, slushies. When we were done it was almost time to check in for our dolphin swim, stopped to watch a turtle and some owls. At 2:10 we were at the sand dollar cabana to sign our disclosure form and the intro before proceeding to the interaction. The group is of eight people, you get to do signal instructions, kiss the dolphin, a one on one interaction and a swim. Unless you have someone taking pictures from the beach, you'll end up buying the photo package, so be prepered, it's not cheap!!!! We bought the one that came with the photo CD, if I had known I would have had my picture taken through out the park, but I only saw the photograpers that took the complementary oicture when you get in. The package comes with a frame, 5 6x8 prints and 2 (awful) keychains.
We bearly made it to lunch, they had chicken curry, grilled salmon, hamburgers, hotdogs and fries, sandwiches and desserts (I think there were more options, but don't recall what they were).
Went back to the lazy river and then spent some time on the beach. It really was a full, fun day. Can't wait to go back with my husband next year.
About the price, yes it is expensive, but if you break it down it's not such a bad deal. Lets put the admission at $72 ( same as Seaworld), the dolphin experience in other places costs about $80, the price of the meal deal in Orlando parks is $29.99 and you get the admission to another Seaworld park, add another $72. The grand total is $263.99, the extra can be for only admitting 1000 per day.

“You have to go! Paradise in Orlando”
Reviewed July 27, 2011

This is a must see / do. This is just an awesome place to spend a day. At first it might seem a bit pricey but not when you look at what you get. The price is well worth it.
Your admission gives you an all inclusive visit. Leave your wallet in the free locker. You get all you need towel, snorkle, breakfast, lunch, drinks including alcohol all day long, entertainment, photo. No crowds or lines guarenteed. This is the most beautiful and relaxing thing you can do. I have been there 3x and can't wait to go again. It feels like a day in Mexico. Since this is man made, you see fish no doubt. It is just an amazing snorkling adventure.
The only thing I was a little unhappy about is you really just have a dolphin encounter not so much swimming with the dolphin. However if you never swam with dolphins this would be very exciting for you.
*Again if you think it is a lot of money , think about it....you get your admission, free parking breakfast, lunch, snorkle equipment, photo, sun tan lotion, towel, all the snacks drinks, smoothies, iscream etc. + you get a 7 day pass to either seaworld or busch gardens and free parking there. So when you break it down WHAT A DEAL..and you will just love it. I can't see any reason why anyone would not. Oh one more thing ...the staff is just awesome. The cater to you all day.
