Owner description: "Disney's BoardWalk area contains more than 90,000 square feet of shops, restaurants and nightclubs. It encompasses Crescent Lake and is ""a village on the water"" near many Disney Resort hotels in Walt Disney World Resort. This quarter-mile entertainment, dining and shopping area is also conveniently close to 2 Disney Theme Parks. With sherbet-colored building facades, striped awnings, rising columns and archways, Disney's BoardWalk is designed after the boardwalks that were famous during the turn of the 20th century along such coastal cities as Coney Island, New York and Atlantic City, New Jersey.Stroll along Disney's BoardWalk during the day to explore the unusual shops and restaurants. When the sun cools down, the nightlife heats up with street performers, food vendors, midway games and lots of live entertainment.

Even when we don't stay here, which we do at least once a year, we go walk around and enjoy the resort atmosphere. Lots of fun and a great walk around the lake.

“Does Disney really care anymore?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2013

We thought we would take our house guest to Disney Boardwalk to enjoy the afternoon and have a meal. First issue - Locating the place. Our house guest wanted to follow in her car then leave for home. Unless you know DisneyWorld very well, the signage for Disney Boardwalk doesn't exist. If we had gotten separated, she would never have found the place. Next issue - parking. There is a big sign to turn left into the entrance. However, you are stopped at a gate, then the guard asks to check your driver's license (WHY?) and THEN I was told it for valet parking only.
We had to turn around to go to a remote parking lot that is not marked. After hiking to the Boardwalk we found half of the shops were closed as were most of the booths along the waterfront. The restaurant prices are quite high for the kind of menu items they serve. The shops that are open seemed to be overstaffed with disinterested clerks. Aside from the architecture, don't bother. It is not worth the time and effort.

I never thought it would be as much like Seaside. The rides and games were great. The food reminded me of home. The entire experience was great. A good value for the money.

“Disney quality with a little less bustle”

Downtown can be very hectic. Here can be a little more tanquil and whilst not so much to offer you can get ferry boats to Epcot and Hollywood Studios
