Owner description: "Disney's BoardWalk area contains more than 90,000 square feet of shops, restaurants and nightclubs. It encompasses Crescent Lake and is ""a village on the water"" near many Disney Resort hotels in Walt Disney World Resort. This quarter-mile entertainment, dining and shopping area is also conveniently close to 2 Disney Theme Parks. With sherbet-colored building facades, striped awnings, rising columns and archways, Disney's BoardWalk is designed after the boardwalks that were famous during the turn of the 20th century along such coastal cities as Coney Island, New York and Atlantic City, New Jersey.Stroll along Disney's BoardWalk during the day to explore the unusual shops and restaurants. When the sun cools down, the nightlife heats up with street performers, food vendors, midway games and lots of live entertainment.

this was the 2nd time we stayed at the Boardwalk. First time was in 1999 and we stayed in one of the villas, this time in the hotel. the room is large, very clean with a lovely decor. As in all Disney hotels, check in is very easy. There are two pools, one is a quiet pool which we used daily. Walking distance to epcot and hollywood studios, boat launch to epcot, swan, dolphin and yacht and beach clubs hotels. lots to do on the boardwalk as well.

We regularly go to Down Town Disney for a walk, watch the DJ at the big podium, although you must be lucky because one of them thinks he is a dj in a club and not in Down Town.

This is a great way to spend some time when you are not going to a park. For example, if we know we are getting into Orlando in the late afternoon or early evening and down't want to pay for an extra day on our park tickets we will come here. Or to do some shopping before heading home.

Disney's Boardwalk comprises of Disney hotels and resorts which encircles a small man-made lake with Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts on the opposite side. There are a few restaurants to dine and few shops to browse. You can rent boats for two person or a pontoon for larger groups and just cruise around. Don't worry about getting lost because it is not a huge lake. If you don't want to rent a boat, you can ride on the ferry boat that sails between the Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach Club. There are surreys you can rent where you can pedal around the lake. You should be in good health before you decide to rent one. Two things you should be aware of. One, the surreys are not light in weight and gets heavier with the larger passenger seating. Secondly you will be pedaling up and over two bridges to complete the loop around from where you started. Crossing over the bridge requires team effort, otherwise it becomes a struggle to pedal up. At night, there are entertainers performing along the Boardwalk and it is a lot of fun and entertaining to watch. In addition, you can also catch fireworks coming from Epcot which is next to the Boardwalk.
