“Savannah paradise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013 via mobile

We recently stayed in a 2 bedroom condo (facing the buses, unfortunately).
As usual with Disney, everything was perfect.
As you walk in, you are amazed by the attention to detail. You have a full kitchen, a breakfast table that looks as if it was made from a huge African tree, a couch and a huge chair that actually turns into a sleeper.
There is also a "guest bath" and laundry closet.
The Master was amazing. It was huge, with a king sized bed, nice bedding, dresser/entertainment stand, desk with a chair, and another chair facing the balcony.
The master bath is impressive- huge shower with bench, a whirlpool tub, and a nice big vanity. The toilet closet has a door, which is always nice.
The 2nd bedroom with its own bath, two queens, and two closets also has a door to the balcony.
Wow! We had a long, huge balcony and right outside our interior door was a huge window overlooking the savannah!
What a treat!
Next time we will surely go with the upgrade for a Savannah balcony. The giraffes, ostriches, antelope and other exotics were fascinating.
Any time you go outside to the fire pit area, you meet an expert on the animals and their environment. Every one we met was amazing- and actually from Africa!!!

We will definitely be returning!

Set apart from the hustle and bustle of the WDW crowd is Kidani Village. Still on WDW property and run in WDW style, sits a quiet escape. There are two resorts in Animal Kingdom, the other is The Jambo House. Kidani is the newer of two. Be prepared to leave enough time when traveling between the Village and parks or Downtown Disney, for the Animal Kingdom Resorts are secluded. Back at Kidani, you can meander down to the "African Savannah" and have a close encounter with the animals. They are a safe distance away for their protection, but there is no glass between you and them. Giraffes, ostrich, wildebeests, cranes, zebras, ankole cattle, and many others are right there roaming in front of you. Cast members are always around to teach you more about the animals of the Village. If it is a chilly night, a campfire, in Disney style, will keep you warm. The animals are lured in your direction by guides leaving feed nearby.
The pool side is geared around activities for kids, but there are areas for adults too. There is a bar with lite bites, two hot tubs, and a long slide for the kid in you. For those ambitious enough or those that just never run out of steam, take time for a set or two at the tennis courts or a workout at the gym.

Room Tip: There are plenty of rooms with views of the Savannah which give you the pleasure of seeing the anima...

Have stayed twice at Kidani Village, the first time we had a standard view. Hotel room excellent as we'd expected. (We are Disney Vacation Club Members). We found the staff very helpful and informative. We had taken members of our family with us and had booked three studio rooms, ttwo on the fifth floor and on the second. We met on the Savannah viewing area daily. It's amazing watching the animals grazing in almost natural surroundings, night and day! The staff are very informative and on hand to answer questions. We have enjoyed many meals at the Sanna restaurant. The second time we managed to book a Savannah View studio. Each morning we sat on the balcony and ate our breakfast whilst watching the animals freely walking around, Zebra's, Giraffes, Cranes etc. The room was very relaxing.

Room Tip: Both times we have stayed here we have had rooms on the fifth floor. Ideally It would be better to...

Been there done that, really expected so much more for the money. Front desk service, horrible. To add insult to injury after a long day at the parks the line to check in was ridiculous as the management just walked by in and out the rear door behind the desk making like everyone there was invisible. Never even an attempt to staff the check in counter with additional help, very sad AK Kidani. The pool and the fitness center were too small, do yourself a favor and walk over to Jambo House so much better. Same animals everyday and when an occasional giraffe or zebra came into the savanna they were chased out. Glad we did it but would never stay here again, and don't even think about requesting a later check out even by an hour. We felt like they had our money so we were not valued guests. Positives, housekeeping were excellent and friendly the best employees on property. Parking under the building was great also, so that was a plus. Sherberth Road, get to know it right outside of AK, took to 192, Super Target and restaurants everywhere, gave the wallet a bit of a break!

We are Disney Vacation Club members. My wife and I booked a Savannah View Studio room. The room comes with a queen bed, small kitchenette (sink, fridge, microwave, limited utensils; no stove), sofa and coffee table, two chairs and eating table, one bathroom and a balcony

The studio room was plenty large for two people. The room furniture and decoration was African-themed that was both attractive and quality. The bed was good, but not great. It would have benefitted from feather pillows and perhaps a new mattress.

The balcony was fantastic, as it provided a nice place to enjoy the fresh air and see the savannah animals. The animals were very entertaining. We had a hornbill (large, dark-colored bird) that loved human attention and was hilarious to watch. The red river hogs provided great entertainment as they showed the other animals who was in charge.

On site is the Sanaa , an African-themed restaurant with very good service and fantastic food with an Indian/African flare. Free buses provide access to all of the parks and attractions.

Room Tip: The walk from the lobby to the extreme end of either wing is quite long, so check to see where your...

Let me first say that this hotel was a gift from a member of the Disney Vacation Club. At this point in my life I could not afford more than two nights at this place. That being said, let's get to it.

The hotel staff went above and beyond. We walked into the place with our luggage and it was immediately behind the counter while we checked in. The woman behind the counter saw that we were on our honeymoon and pulled out a red rose (a la Beauty and the Beast) and handed it to my wife along with our pins and key cards.

We headed to our room and it was there I was allowed to fully take in the lobby. We were married Nov. 24th and arrived at Disney on the 26th and they had decorated for Christmas. This was an incredible sight; a giant Christmas tree elegantly dominated the room and was surrounded by African masks and various other unfamiliar but quite nice ornaments around the room.

When I walked in the room my jaw hit the floor. I could see a giraffe right outside our window. I had heard that this hotel enclosed a savanna of sorts but figured you couldn't really see anything, but there he was, I went to the sliding door and he couldn't have been more than 40-45ft away from me. Once I had admired the animals I looked about the room. The bed was huge. I like a lot of room to stretch my legs so this was a gift. I ventured to the bathroom which had another door inside and I opened it thinking it was an oddly place closest. It was a private toilet. I may be more excited about this than "normal" people.

Now we had arrived fairly late in the evening so we decided to spend our first night at the hotel rather than go to a park. We left this magnificent room that will forever be ingrained in my head as the "private toilet" room, and headed back down to the lobby. We went to the front desk to ask about dinner and they told us that the restaurants were actually at another resort down the road. My wife kind of grimaced at the thought that we now had to bus or possibly walk down the road pickup dinner and walk or bus back AFTER an incredibly long flight. The (same one from earlier) woman behind the desk, probably noting my wife's tired reaction, picked up the phone and had a shuttle come pick us up and wait while we ordered dinner and brought us back.

I will admit the this particular Villa is about 30 mins away from Magic Kingdom. Which I thought was going to be an issue, but honestly the transportation is free and I got over it. Animal Kingdom obviously is real close by, with Epcot and Hollywood Studios were about 15-20 mins away.

We didn't bother with a car because of the buses, but I did notice valet parking.

I'm not used to these accommodations; huge bed, shuttle service, animals at my window, I was completely out of my element and did not want to leave. We were spoiled, I'm usually not one to enjoy spending time on a trip in a hotel but this place made it difficult to want to go to Disney World.

Room Tip: Our room was a few floors directly above the Front Desk, which showed to be great view of the animal...

Disney's Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge is beautiful, serene and just plain fun. The staff is welcoming and helpful, the facilities and property are kept pristine, and the amenities are outstanding.
We stayed in a 2-bedroom villa overlooking the Savannah as DVC members. Our rooms were beyond spacious - we were a party of 6 and could have easily fit another 2. The furnishings & fixtures were attractive, comfortable and well cared for. The balcony stretched along all 3 main rooms, and was a delightful place to have breakfast or a nighttime drink while watching the animals.
The animal viewing at the main lobby balconies and decks is fantastic, as are the poolside animal views. There is always a helpful cast member available for any questions you may have.
The pool was a highlight - fun games and activities for kids, a great slide, and an excellent bar with a refillable mug station and quick-service lunch items & snacks are offered. Evening campfire & s'mores and poolside movies were great fun. We planned for two 'pool/resort' days, and were so pleased we did.
We enjoyed visiting the Animal Kingdom Lodge pool & quick service restaurant, which is just a 10 minute walk away, but did miss having a Quick Service restaurant at Kidani itself.

Room Tip: If you're staying at Animal Kingdom, the Savannah View rooms are worth the extra cost.
