The water slides here are more thrilling than typhoon lagoon. The big one here is summit plummet. Only the brave should attempt this one and I don't mean it for fear of heights. The wait times for this ride during peak seasons is way too much. A two hour wait for a an experience that lasts less than a minute is not worth it to me. Take the kids to Typhoon Lagoon. The slides here are more advanced and for kids under 7 it may be too much. Pack and plan wisely to avoid renting a locker ($13). Bring plenty of snacks as food prices here are nuts, and if you can avoid it steer away from a spring/summer trip b/c the crowds and wait times for rides can get out of control. Parking is free.

We went to Blizzard Beach for the day whilst visiting Orlando, this park has some amazing water slides for both adults and small children and by far the best of the water parks in Orlando.
Whilst it doesn't have the fantastic wave machine that Typhoon Lagoon offers the slides are much better. We travelled with a 10 year old and a 3 year old so needed something to suit all ages. There is a great area for the little ones with small islands across the pool to jump around on, there is also a mini zip wire which our 3 year old loved! For the older ones there is 2 'hair raising' slides which are brilliant ( one of which is a near vertical drop) ensure that you head to these first though as the queues get longer through out the day! There are a couple of 'tyre rides' which all the family can enjoy together. If you don't like slides then don't worry, the pool is a 'mock beach' so you can relax and enjoy the sun but beware the sun loungers are packed in tightly so there isn't much room.
Lockers are available and they have life jackets around the park for the kids which are free. Parking is free for Blizzard beach so a bonus not to have to pay $14 like the other Disney Parks. Overall a great day out.

If you go to Blizzard Beach, be prepared for: lifeguards (all teenagers) who scream at you constantly for the slightest infraction, (standing too close to a wall? No where else to stand) long, long, lines for everything (especially the food--and, no where to sit to eat), main pool so crowded you can't even move around, usual high Disney food prices, and, the worst, very little shade and no where to get out of the Florida sun. In typical Disney fashion, they keep packing them in until there is no room to move, no chairs to sit in, etc. You will have a much better time at your hotel pool, where you can move around, find some shade, etc. Oh, and another thing: If there is the SLIGHTEST bit of rain they will close the park and they expect you to leave, so you are screwed out of whatever you paid to go there. SKIP IT!!!
