Typhoon Lagoon is a must see stop for our family when we visit Orlando. Years ago we bought ten-day, no expiration tickets which we still have days left, so it feels like it's free (it is not...$50+ a day per adult).
The water attractions are well thought out with a lot of variety from Castaway Creek (think lazy river), through the large wave pool (three kinds of waves: small, rolling and surf) to outrageous water slides and tube rides (quite a few of these, we like the Storm Slides).
Lots of lifeguards keeping constant watch and a number of small kids areas both dedicated and part of adult areas. Great place for the little ones.
While there is a lot of shade it can be a challenge to get seating where you can escape the sun. One hint is the Preferred seating. For $55 you get a special reserved space with shade and an umbrella, two chaise lounges and two chairs, four towels and a locker. For more money ($350, I think), youget a hard topped Beachcomber hut with padded Adirondack chairs, locker on site, free towels and a person who runs to get your drinks and food. A bit pricey for me but I guess worth it for some as they were sold out the day we went. In any case, get there early.
Food has been kicked up in recent years and a good variety is available. Still a little pricey but you can bring in your own cooler with food if you want.
A lot of fun, sand, water, sun. Give it a try.
