Most wave pools make little waves that are fun to bounce around in, not this one. The waves are big enough to body surf on. But, kids should not be afraid of swimming on their own with a life preserver on to enjoy this pool, no matter how hard you hold onto them they will probably get swept away from you. The rest of the park is average at best. All the reviewers seemed to like this over Blizzard Beach. We disagree completely. Typhoon's slides are really short, fortunately we did not have long lines when we visited in May, but had we had long lines we would have been extremely disappointed with how short the slides are. The slides and non wave pool activities are much much better at Blizzard Beach.

My 13 and 15 year old absolutely loved the wave pool. The water was quite warm, the waves are quite strong, complete with undertow. The other pools were COLD, so they stayed in there all day, in and out because of storms. We used Jeff at Cityone Express, Inc. to chauffer us back and forth from our exceptionally wonderful non-Disney hotel, Doubletree, downtown Disney. The charge was $12 each way and avoiding the long wait and the overcrowded shuttles was well worth the price. 407-509-6488. We wound up using Jeff a lot because of the convenience. The shuttles are rarely on time!!! It was about $30 from Doubletree to Cabana Beach Resort. That is for all three of us. Gorgeous, extremely clean town car!! Loved it.

Being a Disney water park I honestly expected a lot more. The decorations are great and the sand is a very nice touch. When your in there, you get the true feeling of being on an island. The rides are fun, but there are very few. We went on a Sunday and it was not crowded at all and were able to ride all the slides within 2 hours. For being Disney and costing nearly $60 to get in, I expected more. Disney resort pools are amazing so if your not wanting to splurge on the water park, a day at the pool will be just fine.
